  1. Hi! Is there any possibility of replacing the keys on the MZX500 with other keys? I really liked the keyboard but I don't like the keys on it. I want to stay with him for many years and so I want to know if other keys on other Casio keyboards or other brands can serve him. Thank you very much in advance.
  2. I purchased my PX-S3000 about a year ago and have used it quite extensively almost every day. The piano sound is exceptional, and I have really enjoyed using it in a variety of different settings. I am running into a problem that seems to be getting more and more pronounced over time. When I first got the keyboard, the keys were quiet and smooth. Now the keys seem more loose and noisier. There is a noticeable clicking/clacking sound on certain black keys especially on keys that I play most often. This was not the case when I first got the keyboard. I've attached a video. I am curious if any other users have had a similar experience. I know the keyboard is still under warranty, but due to the COVID-19 situation, I have so far not been able to find a local authorized Casio repair shop that is open to check and fix it. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Key Noise.mp4
  3. I purchased the CT-X700 in April 2020 from Amazon in the US. About 2 or 3 months later I noticed the bottom 5 lower keys in 'electric piano' mode would clange when played. I contacted Casio and they gave a list of repair places to take it. But with the Covid-19 pandemic, repair shops will not touch any keyboards at this time. I emailed Casio and have yet to hear from them. Any suggestions?
  4. Hi everyone, I have been working on an arrangement for the song “Imagine” by John Lennon and as some of you know, the intro of the song has a series of chords which all end on a C note for the right hand, so you play a row of C notes with the right thumb on each second eight note of each beat during two measures which are repeated twice before the song begins. While playing this intro, I noticed that there was a problem with the C4 key. I then checked all the keys to see whether other keys had the same problem, and apparently C5 has the same issue. Both keys are flimsy and make a clicky noise, which is completely abnormal.😖 I am attaching two short videos in which one can distinctly hear that C4 and C5 are abnormally noisy, the first one with the piano sound, the second one with the volume fully turned down: AC86B28B-948A-4ADC-B729-FBDD93CDC620.MOV 2C6A2245-C1C0-42D4-B801-DDE3FC9EC58A.MOV I didn’t notice this issue before, otherwise I would have sent the keyboard back to Amazon France for an exchange or a refund. Unfortunately, the 30-days period during which I could sent the CT-X800 back for a refund without any explanation ended a week ago 😢 I am wondering whether it is my particular unit is defective or whether this is a misconception of this particular model, or of the whole CT-X range, which would be particularly unfortunate. After having played both the CT-X3000 for two weeks, then the CT-X800 for a month, I suspect the second hypothesis is the right one (misconception of the keybed of the CT-X700/800) because I remember that @TheBradge had the CT-X700 at home to try out for a week, and he also complained about flimsy keys. At the time I didn’t pay much attention, because I thought maybe his particular unit was faulty, and also because when my CT-X800 arrived 5 weeks ago, I noticed no particular issue with the keys and found the feel of the keybed rather pleasing. I supposed I should return the CT-X800 and ask either for a repair (but I doubt that anything can be done) or a replacement, but I fear that only a keyboard player can spot the fault and that Amazon might simply refuse to let me use my warranty. Do you guys have any idea about what I should do? I have been looking for a nice portable keyboard for months and after having tried the CT-X3000, then the Yamaha PSR E463 and finally the CT-X800, I opted for the later because of its feather-light weight, its great sounds and its friendly UI. Now I am at a loss, esp. since in one month I have to travel back to Belgium for a few weeks, and I intended to take the keyboard with me to be able to practise during my sojourn, so I am not very keen on sending the keyboard back because I suspect that proving my point and getting a replacement could last several weeks, if not months. 😭😭😭 Thanks for helping.
  5. So I recently picked up the XW-P1 used from Guitar Center. The first thing I have noticed is that the Eb, E, F, and F# below middle C are really out of tune in the StreoGrPiano factory tone. Is this normal? I have reset it to factory settings and it is still the same. Is it just a poor sample? Is there a way I can fine tune each note?
  6. I've been using song mode lately as a drum machine to keep zone 1 free for sounds. Now I've been diving in stage menu if there was any possibility to start song mode by any key or if song mode would start by other means then the start / stop button itself. Phrase and song mode can start simultaneously when the start /stop button is pressed. But to do that Phrase and song mode have to be lit on for that to work same go's for audio play. So there is a bit of versatility there but what if I just want to hit a chord and have it all play. I've been menu diving to look purely if I could start song mode when I press a key as it seems It can't however. I needed a few things for a performance using the PX5S stage. 1 : Can the PX have song mode triggered when I hit a chord. 2 : Can the PX use the fifth phrase instead of song mode for drums. 2 : Can the PX have tempo sync either sync song mode and arpeggio or all together. I've looked in the Stage Common menu to find a way to make it work. And found something interesting about the pedals which can be programmed for anything including tempo sync and starting arpeggio , phrase or songmode. Not exactly what I've opted for but that'l work to get the show running. First triggering song mode by pedal, because the way I use it to apply a drum sequence its clearly different then using phrase sequencing which start and stop with key presses. But if you want to use two hexlayers this is one of the many ways using the PX5S only. Certainly if you want to keep the pedal free for sustaining or other. Cause I'm not sure if song mode sync's with arpeggio or phrases. Tempo sync is a bit of an oddity in a stage arpeggio / phrases are synced as is the fifth phrase which sync also this phrase can also be selected which phrase to play in the common menu. I've still to figure out how to set it up for drum sequence instead of using song mode. Tempo sync can be done by pedal I've assigned pedal two for when it is pressed it hits in. I'm still figuring out how this all work to make a stage sound tight and how I want it.
  7. Hey all! Here to show you something big for the PX-5S. Dave Weiser, who has designed sounds for Roger Waters, David Bowie, The Who, and about every theatre show that's been on Broadway, has released a new pair of sounds for the PX-5S. Of course, we all know him for the Vintage Keys Set he made for the PX in late 2013 (and can still be downloaded on Casio Music Forums here), but he has now come out with two brand new piano presets! Basically, these pianos are designed for a number of different applications and genres with the purpose of being "gig-ready". Yes, meaning they sit well in your mix, without getting in the bassist's frequencies, or requiring any extra EQ from the sound guys. Where can you find them? You'll find them, and all the info you need to know on Dave's website, WeiserSound.com HERE. Also, there are some great new demos that were just put on Dave Weiser's SoundCloud, so be sure to check those out! Looking forward to trying these out live!
  8. Hi everyone, I would like to know what members of the forum think about keys and keybed of PX5s. I really like the action of the PX5s but after one hour of playing it, I have this weird feeling that the keys are not responsive as before and I detect a lot of vibrations on central keys. Don't get me wrong, I love the action of the px5s but I would like to know your opinion. I'm concerned about lifespan of the keys and keybed. Thank you. P.S. I play my Privia only 1 hour per day
  9. I just got my PX-5S and the B-3 key feels a little lose, like it's not as weighted as middle C or A-3 on either side. It's driving me crazy. I know the keyboard has the graded hammer action where the keys are supposed to get heavier the farther down you go, but this seems a little off to me. I'm trying to determine if it's a manufacturer defect, if they're all like this, or if it's just mine. My mother has been playing piano for several decades, and I got her to check it out as well. She confirmed that I'm not losing my mind, although she said it's just barely noticible even to her. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?
  10. Hello, Maybe someone can answer this. Are the "Simulated Ebony and Ivory" keys on the new Privia's simply plastic with a surface texture molded into them or are they made of some kind of new composite material similar to composite wood decking? I ask this because I worry that after some use the texture would begin to wear away in heavily played spots. This is just a minor concern of mine, and definitely not a deal breaker. But, I am curious. I would like the appearance of my keys to remain intact for a few years. Thanks.
