BrettM
It would be great if some of you P1 owners would also post some .wav files of your hex layers in the download section so we G1 owners can hear what they sound like (special plea to Patrick!). I would also be interested in knowing some of the underlying details, waves used, etc.
Patrick Arend
Hi Brett M, If we can upload wave file's to the download section I will gladly post some demoe's of the XW-P1 hex layer's.I could post about ten or twenty hex example's with a little demo five or ten second's long, and a descripition of each hex layer.Other's may have something up sooner than me as it will take a day or two to get it all together and on this forum. Null
Just remember WAV is not a compressed format. Be considerate and upload them in ZIP format to save the forum operators bandwidth and storage space.

Patrick Arend
Hi Brett M,Tried uploading xw-p1 wav files but there is a two mb limit, my computer only make's lossless wav files. would high quality mp3 file's be okay?
BrettM
Hi Patrick, mp3's would be fine. I should have thought of that in the first place. Thanks for this, I'm really looking forward to hearing your stuff.
Display Name
Also consider opening a SoundCloud account.. it's free and very easy to upload and share .wav, .mp3, etc. That will take some of the bandwidth expense from Chaos (site owner).
Patrick Arend
Just put up three wav examples of the XW-P1 hex layer's, was gonna go mp3, but I didn't want the sound quality to suffer, so I went with lossless wave file's. I will be getting on soundcloud in near future. I would like to leave these wav files on the forum for a few day's. I do not want to suck up the bandwith, that's why I only uploaded 3, if I could leave them up long enough for Brett M to download them, I would be gratefull to the forum.
BrettM
Got 'em Patrick, thanks. They sound great; a nice big, full sound with good stereo presence. Can't wait to hear some more.
Patrick Arend
Thank's Brett, I got 4 more im going to upload tonight. Then after the weekend I am going to take them off the forum, and put them on soundcloud.
BrettM
Got 'em all now, thanks Patrick, and I've had time to listen to them more closely. They sound lovely! Just a couple of questions:I notice that you've only used two or three of the six available hex layers. Do you think these sounds could be created using zones 1-4 in performance mode, using what AlenK calls “quadlayer” or “trilayer”? http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/4790-external-filter-with-envelopes-for-hexlayerAre you using pitch lock?If I didn't know about hex layers, just listening to some of them, I would have thought they were made using a standard keyboard split with a chord pad in the left hand and the right hand playing a different lead tone. Mythic guitar, vibrapad, another earth and padit sound like this in particular. Or are they single tones spread right across the whole keyboard using hex layer velocity switching to access the different components of the sound? Are you using delay on mythic guitar? Thanks again, Patrick, for sharing these examples of hex layers, much appreciated. Patrick Arend
Thank's Brett, yes you can have a hex layer in zone 1, and you could add pcm tone's to the other three performance zone's. im not using pitch lock. The hex layer's were single tone's spread (layered) across the whole keyboard. Yes there was delay on mythic guitar. the right to slider's will adjust the delay time and amount.
