  1. Thanks so much, Brad. Success! So easy when you know how! Took me just a little while to work out that step 3 had to be done whilst the MIXER screen was still open though. Turns out that I had installed the latest firmware some time ago but obviously had forgotten - or not realized - the connection between rewriting the MIDI "header" info and the changes to MIXER settings in the notes provided. A really useful feature, but I wonder why Casio did not include the rewriting of system track settings as well in the update. This would make the accompaniment function so much more flexible and powerful. Thanks again.
  2. I tried to save the mixer-modified MIDI RECORDER recording to both .ZMF and .MID files and then load them back into the User area. I could not see any other way to save the changed Port C MIXER settings. But the new tone modifications do not get saved in either case. So my question remains "Surely the main purpose of editing a MIDI recording in the MIXER is so that you can save it somewhere?" Please outline the necessary steps if I am missing something. BH
  3. Brad says "The MIDI recorder is the only tool on the PX-560 capable of recording port C mixer settings." Please tell me how to make this recording. Am I missing something??? For me, the modified tones and other parameters always revert to the original ones (even when changing a newly copied track)!! Whilst changes to any existing MIDI RECORDER file made in the MIXER Port C can be played OK, I am unable to actually save the changes to a media file and back into a new MIDI RECORDER file. The only way to save these changes is to record the modified MIDI file into an AUDIO file. Surely the main purpose of editing a MIDI recording in the MIXER is so that you can save it somewhere? Or is my PX560 not working properly ? Please help.
  4. The PX-560 is a really great instrument and I love mine. But I believe it is severely lacking in decent usable rhythms. Many more are required to make this instrument better. There are loads of Asia/Ethnic rhythms but virtually no straight 4s, for example. I know more can be created by merging the existing ones but even so, it is not possible to always achieve the required sound or feel because the basic building blocks don't seem to exist. It is also quite time-consuming. Has anyone found a good solution to this? Maybe Casio should consider a version of accompaniments that replaces the many that are quite useless for more European/English tastes? And make this an upgrade to the firm-ware.
  5. It would be GREAT if Casio would tell us more about what has been changed/amended in a new version. "Improving certain operation" suggests to me that they don't value their users intelligence very much. How about it, Casio???
  6. Thanks for your reply, Brad. It's great to know that my keyboard is not faulty. I apologise for assuming it was. And thanks for the Mike Martin clip which demonstrates the use of Nylon Guitar 1 'strum' sounds. But I could never have guessed that this lower section was intended to sound this way - it had me fooled. Thanks also kybdsammer for the extra info re V1.15
  7. Thanks, Brad. I have tried many techniques and guitar patterns but can't quite get what I'm after though so I'll just keep experimenting. (There aren't any suitable guitars on the hex layer group) As far as operating issues, I DO have one major fault which is actually involving guitar tones. On my keyboard, the Nylon String Guitar 1 ceases to function for all notes below E2 and all I get is a most unpleasant percussive thud for this range. Fortunately Nylon String Guitar 2 & 3 are OK below E2. But this also happens with Steel Guitar + Strum Noise M1, M2 & M3. As far as I can tell, every other tone (all groups) is OK over the bottom range of the keyboard. This has been the case since I bought the instrument but surely this is NOT a normal function. I was hoping that one of the new versions of firmware may resolve this. Can anything be done about it??
  8. The forum seems to have gone to sleep as far as any new Casio official tone downloads is concerned. I would like to have some realistic strummed guitar sounds on my PX-560. Can only find the Guitar Pack foe PX-5S. I would also like more details about the problems solved by V1.15 firmware upgrade please. That is, Casio-people is it worth the trouble?
