Success! I wasn't having any luck w/the canned air, but blowing a couple of sharp puffs on either side of the key seems to have taken care of the issue and my Px5S is ready to roll.....thanks for your help Brad!!

So, I have a bum key on my Px5S. I can play it soft, but it jumps to max velocity with the slightest amount of force. (And HEY! for once it's not the dreaded Bb!) Anyway, before I jump down the rabbit hole of taking the beast apart (I live in Podunk SW Indiana and the nearest Casio service center is HOURS away, plus my baby's WAY out of warranty) I thought I would at least try spraying some canned air in there and see if I get lucky. My issue is, if I put the little red tube down between the keys and spray away, it looks like that's exactly where the air is going....between the keys. It dosen't look to me like there's any way it's going where the problem would be....UNDER the key. Am I missing something? IOW, is there some way to direct the air in such a way as to at least have a shot of this working? It's probably really obvious, but any suggestions would still be very welcome. Thank y'all!

Seems feasible.....only stopping point would be that I don't know how flexible my receiving device (Nord Electro 3) is as far as reasigning CC #'s.....worth a shot though.......

Yeah, that's what I figured.....

I use my Px5S to control an external sound source, as well as its internal sounds. Is there any way to control volume of an external sound, say, with a slider, while having the internal sound on the same layer ignore the slider? I know I can use a different zone for the external sound, but I'm using the same note range for both, and with only 4 zones available I'm trying to see if I can squeeze a bit more out of the stage setting. Thanks!!

I LOVE the Px5-S. I own 2. The only thing I can think of to change would be....FIX THE DANG Bb KEY ISSUE......other than THAT it's about the perfect gigging board for this guy......

I'll check it out.......gotta say though, I've been trying to cleanse my ear of that DX "Rhodes" since 1983 or so.....I'd be in it for the Wurli though.....

Welcome to the "Bb Velocity Issue" Club! Make sure to get your secret decoder ring..... Seriously, one thing to try, which has worked for me on both my Px5s's, is to set the max volume for any zone that employs the offending note to 126 or lower. Since the note wants to sound out at full volume, this (seems) to prevent it from doing so. Not sure if this will affect your particular flavor of this issue, but it can't hurt to try..... Cheers!

And it does help, partly....what I'm really looking for is the ability to have, say, a string or organ sound on the Nord, and to pull that up on slider 1 to layer with the Px's piano sound, over the whole range of the keyboard. If I turn the generator out to OFF, I can play the Nord but obviously not the Px's piano. Another wrinkle seems to be that, while I can raise or lower the volume of the Nord with the slider configured in this way, when I pull the slider all the way down (000) I still hear output from the Nord, albeit lower in volume. Any ideas?

Hi all, This is probably really basic, but I can't wrap my head around how.... I want to use slider #1 on the Px5S to control the volume on my Nord Electro 3, without affecting the sound on the Px5S. The Nord's midi implementation says that it will respond to CC7 messages, but I can't figure out how to get the slider to send them. That's pretty much it, I know it should be easy (or an impossibilty.....hope not!) but I can't make it work and any assisstance would be greatly appreciated!

Trust me, I can make a $100,000 piano sound like it's only worth $1,000 in a heartbeat.....
