You misunderstood me. I need to change the midi channel, on which my casio keyboard sends notes.

I am writing a music program in Python, which allows to play backing files and reacts to my playing on the keyboard, playing into fluidsynth. I need to change the instrument (voice) that I play on the keyboard according to the position of the backing band.

Hello, I know how to increment/decrement the midi send channel via the function key on the keyboard. What I need is to set the send channel to a specific value by an external program, i.e. via usb. Is that possible, and how to do that ? Thanks Jara
