It is amazing, after about two year's, casio is still putting out good info on their xw series, and tutoriol video's.
I dont think i have ever seen a synth company have this kind of involvment and commitment to customer's and product.
Of course i also think Mike Martin contribute's greatly to this.
Thank you casio, and Mr Martin.

I have been listening to a lot of other synth's pad's lately.
For my taste, the XW-P1 still has among some of the best pad's I have ever heard.(when created in hex mode)
Ive had my XW-P1 for a little over a year, and I love it more everyday.

Hi Jokeyman123, maybe when it come's to synthesizer's, we may think a little the same way? Of course now I have to go on utube and watch some Equinox video's.

There are time's when im working with sound's on my XW-P1 when I think the music is coming through my speaker's, although it is only going through my headphone's. When I get thing's right on the XW, even with just headphone's, I swear at time's I can feel the low end in my feet, there are time's when im jamming through headphone's, I have to take them off to make sure the sound isn't coming through my speaker's.
Even though it is just my opinion, I feel that airyness of sound is the mark of a great synthesizer.

Happy April Fool's day! I would never really get rid of my wonderfull XW.

I really like the term EXPERIMENTAL WORKSTATION, It sound's like a mad scientist lab, or a top secret government air craft that might be based on alien tech. Make's one curious about the instrument.

You guy's are right, this forum goe's way beyond social media. More like a super cool club that I am proud to be a member of.

Within the last couple of week's I tried to see if I have become addicted to social media. I basically tried not to get on facebook and this site, but I cheated in a way.I still visited these site's,briefly, but i did not respond to anything and tried to just be an observer.Like someone just reading post's and not a member. This worked fine for facebook. but not so well for this forum. I found myself having withdraw's, sort of like an addiction. A few year's ago, If someone would have said I would need a music forum, I would have laughed. My conclusion is that I am not addicted to social media. However, this forum is the exception.

It has been proven that people learn faster and better when showed how to do something as opposed to learning it from a book or manual.
That is why there are you tube tutorial video's.

Hi Jokeyman123, Glad you got your xw back. Plus you got to meet Mike Martin. I have never met him in person, but I kind of feel like I have through watching his many xw, and px-5s video's.
Glad you didn't give up on your xw, you have showed that you are a very patient person.

Hello Mr Martin, I was looking forward to the next video, but now I can hardly wait. I have learned something from every tutorial video on xw-p1 that you have done.
Your very first XW-P1 video was the first I ever heard of the XW-P1, That first video was what sold me on the XW-P1.

It's strange, ive had my XW-P1 for about a year now, and there are still time's I get that feeling I had when I first got it. Every time I think I reached the limit in some area of the synth, I discover some really cool thing It can do , or some new sound I didn't think it was capable of. An example, I was playing back a sequence in the phrase sequencer, I had a grungy kind of terminator bass line going, I thought what the heck i'll turn on the Arpeggio, and when I did the sequencer was playing with the same hex, both the phrase sequencer, and the Arpeggio. It was awesome, it transformed my phrase seq into some weird trippy Acid, tecno, dance trance stuff. As I was going through different arp's, preset and user, and phrase sequence's,i was getting really cool result's. Not every thing worked, but a lot of combination's did. I don't know if other synthesizer's let you create a hybrid combined arp and phrase on the same track, but it sure is cool the way the XW-P1 will let you do that. I think all the extended press the XW's are getting is adding to my deja vu. It seem's, it feel's like casio created three new classic's in the making. XW-P1, XW-G1, PX-5S. If there was a synthesizer hall of fame, these synth's should be in it. but that is just my opinion.

New Age, world, meditative, experimental.

Thank's Brett, yes you can have a hex layer in zone 1, and you could add pcm tone's to the other three performance zone's. im not using pitch lock. The hex layer's were single tone's spread (layered) across the whole keyboard. Yes there was delay on mythic guitar. the right to slider's will adjust the delay time and amount.

User hex, wav, 3 layer, StereoBrightPiano panned left, StereoBrightPiano panned right, NewAge-B.
This is a weird piano string type pad thing from another dimension. I had the xw-p1 panning in a way that kind of messes with your ear's. cool stuff this synth does.
