  1. Finally I got audio my audio interface, computer and software started to work better, so after a couple of days I made cover of one of my Daft Punk's favourites. Soundioxide - Veridis Quo (Reggae Pop version :) In general, Casio (CT-X 5000) rhythm 109 was used (PopRegae) for overall background, as well as tune 318 (SolFlut2) for playing melody. Together with that a package of VST synths was added to add some more electronic feeling. I was having quite fun making music with that kind of approach. Lot of CT-X 5000 rhythms sounds really well and for sure a couple more will nicely blend with my future cover ideas. For sure it could be better in terms of mixing, equalization and other mastering stuff, but currently I am getting used to new tools, software and new workflow. Looking forward to make some more - already have some ideas.
  2. EDIT: Ok, it works as mentioned by Brad and written in appendix. What I had to do is to set Bank and Program for particular tone. Hello there, Recently I tried to play my Casio using my PC and DAW via USB MIDI connection. What I would like to do is to play specific tone - for example one of the Drum Sets (Tone 782) . What messages should I set to make this happen? So far I only managed to play some piano sounds and some drum sounds on channel 10. I am looking at the MIDI implementation document and it looks like I need to somehow make setup for specific MIDI channel in port C (parts 33-48, MIDI receive channel 1-16). Could someone help me out with this issue?
  3. Added Phrase Creation/Setup helping sheets for Casio CT-X 5000/3000 in download section. Any feedback welcomed.

  5. After reviewing of manuals I am still curious how DSP Edit works... As I understand correctly, what can be manipulated/modified are DSP presets? Module on/off and modification of module parameters? There is something like DSP presets 801-900, which provided for editing - list with some details is available in one of the appendixes. As far as I know presets 1-800 are available to editing, as well? Is there a list what DSP presets 1-800 contains? After making adjustments to any DSP preset these modifications are then written and assigned to user edited Tone? Is there an option to make your own set of modules in DSP and save it as user DSP preset (overwrite one of 801-900 DSP presets)? Please someone clarify
  6. I think video tutorials available in YT are good enough to provide help on most of keyboards, because typical drum assignment is the same on various instruments (anyone correct me if I am wrong) For example, this tutorial from Doctor Mix is good enough for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlk9s5gPgXY The matter is to practice these tutorials long enough to play it good enough Long way ahead of me in this skill. Other thing is - when for example you are recording drum pattern for your style or song - you don't have to play all the drums together. Usually I start with bass drum/snare and then add some hihats and other (pattern playing in loop, so I can add or remove drum notes). Also, in CT-X5000 there are two parts for drums so you can divide drums for your comfort of playing and mixing...

  10. I just started my adventure with CT-X5000. After a week of using this instrument it appears to me that managing and remembering all data stored will be more and more difficult in the future. So I thought it would be nice to have some paper tables. As an initial example I did table for keeping in one place information about data stored in all Registration banks (what purpose, which song, when created or something like that). What comes also to my mind is the same table for Phrases. Also what I am developing is step diagrams for Tone edition, Rhythm and Phrase creation/recording... As a more experienced users do you have any ideas for such helping sheets? Possibly you already created such? What do you think? Any comments or suggestions welcomed. I think I will put pdf files with my sheets and tables in files section...
