  1. Maybe he should have used a Zoom H1 Handy Recorder like I did.
  2. I'm sure they will, with the MXi sound source instead of the AiR sound source. Or something even better than BOTH !
  3. Silver and POSSIBLY 76 keys, with round speakers and big buttons that could be the "track record" buttons. Demo songs number at least a 100, I think. Late 90's, possibly 1998, if that's where my best guess would be-The WK-3800. But also remember that more than a few WK Series boards during that time frame were silver in color. Ted, check out your WK-3800 and see what you can find.
  4. I'm going to use my MZ-X300, when it gets here for soundtrack work and by soundtrack I mean John Williams Orchestral and not Hans Zimmer, even though I might get a Zimmer-Type assignment one of these days. The MZ will be a giant leap forward for me from my much venerated WK-1350. I am looking forward to "going to school" for 8 hours a day to exploit the MZ to it's fullest.
  5. I just phone home and hum my musical idea into the answering machine.
  6. Can you provide a hard link to the Appendix Document for the MZ-X300? I can't find it on Casio's Website. Thanks!
  7. My not being hung-up on 88 keys is one of the major reasons I save $$$
  8. The PX-5S has about 1/2 the capabilities of the MZ-X, at least on paper, yet it goes for $999 Sweetwater. The MZ-X is going for only $100 more and it's loaded.
  9. So, what makes a "workstation" a "workstation?" The high price, or the fact that you're able to do what you need to do on it, like a "workstation?"
  10. That is correct! The MZ-2000 might have been slightly still-born, but it WAS Casio's second foray into the pro market, following the VZ-1 synth in 1988. And since the beginnings of SERIOUS workstations in 1999 and all of the models that have followed, expect the MZ-X500 to be somewhat of a culmination of most of the ideas that followed through the years. But also know this. Since the intros of their 2 performance synths and the awesome PX-5S, Casio is announcing their presence with *authority* and ignoring everything that everyone ever said about them in the past. The MZ-X500 is NOT a "fun station" nor mere "arranger." This unit is designed to go head to head with anything on the market now at ANY price. Working pros who have been facing the prospect of another 4k drain on their wallets for the "Real Thing" are going to be greatly surprised and relieved, just as long as they take the time to audition this instrument properly. The new sound engine in the MZ-X500 is the result of 15 years of evolution from the ZPI source to the AHL, to the AiR to the present MXi source, which, according to the AiR (PX-5S) is going to be awesome redefined. Don't say I didn't warn you!
  11. Here's an orchestral bit I did on my much venerated Casio WK-1350:
  12. Maybe you could find those demos on Youtube....
  13. I too am looking forward to an upgrade for the WK, just because of the possibility that the NEXT WK series keyboard will contain the fantastic sounding AIR chip/ sound source that has been in the PX-5S for the last two years. Now imagine a WK FULLY LOADED with AIR sounds and finally, you have the perfect opponent for Yamaha's Mega, Sweet, Cool and Live voices. Since a new WK wasn't intro'ed at WInter NAMM it could appear at Summer NAMM or even sooner, depending on Casio.
  14. Just in case you missed it: https://soundcloud.com/casiomusicgear/px-5s-guitar-bass-organ Let's add some drums to the mix!: https://soundcloud.com/skyy38/px5s-guitar-bass-organ-and
  15. Yes, Casio is used in modern music, but, I hardly ever hear of Casio used in a "Orchestral", "Classical" or "Soundtrack" context. Listen to my piece and then, I will tell you what CASIO keyboard I used on this. Be prepared! The answer may yet *surprise* you!
