  1. I'm wondering how you perceive the black glossy surface from the 1000 or 3000. Do you feel annoyed by it when you play, because you can see yourself like in a mirror? Or is it no problem at all?
  2. Yeah that helps a lot. I will check Pianoteq out. Still not sure, but currently I think will lean more towards the PX-S1000. I don't think that I will use the interface often. I want to choose a velocity curve and that's it. At least I imagine it to use this way currently, maybe I will something. At the same time I really want to have internal sounds again to just play piano sometimes without the laptop running and to be restricted to a couple of simple sounds were I don't have to tweak the instrument setup to feel right. I miss to be restricted and being setup -less since I don't have access to a real piano anymore. The only thing I will surely miss is a mod-wheel. I like that for VSTi synth. At the same time I rarely used a pitch-wheel in the past. For what kind of sound do you want a pitchbend? Nothing piano related I guess?
  3. That helps a lot. Unfortunately I don't have a store nearby to try them myself. Therefore I first try to see which is the right model for me by reading manual and the web. I have also a lot of Kontakt Native instruments pianos as I have just bought komplete 12 in the sale. Just out of interest, have you compared them to your psx3000? I'm wondering whether you prefer the internal Casio samples for playing piano. I could image that the internal dynamics and all this stuff is adapted perfectly to the key action, while you have to tweak velocity curves a lot before the Kontakt pianos feel right? Still try to figure out if the couple of additional piano and e-piano/rhodes sounds in the 3000 are worth the extra change (I'm not interested in the guitar sound or flutes). When the VSTi stuff is as good or even better I would not need them I guess. --- And a last question regarding the MIDI out if you don't mind. Do you feel that the black/white keys are comparable regarding MIDI out velocity when you press them with the same pressure? With my current keyboard the black keys have a much higher sensitivity, which results in velocity jumps when you press them with the same pressure. Really annoying and makes playing almost impossible without editing the MIDI later. I would like to avoid this behaviour in the future and have a balanced velocity feeling for all keys, like on a real piano.
  4. 🙂 I guess you got it and made a good joke out of it, but I meant the lifetime from the device, electronics and mostly the the volume control of course. But I guess the lifetime thing was a bit of a silly question as the keyboard and also volume control is build to use it.
  5. I heard some opinions on the internet that there is no difference in sound quality for the preset that both units share (like the grand piano) and that they use the same samples. But I've read also a opinion which said that the dynamic behavior is more realistic for piano sounds on the px-3000 compared to the 1000. Have anyone compared both units detailed and have an opinion on that?
  6. That sounds good. I want to do the same, to have it as a master keyboard below my table. Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope you don't mind four follow-up questions. 🙂 It sounds like you're pretty happy with this keyboard for VSTi's so far? Does the different velocity shapes for the key action that you can choose (light, mid-light, normal, mid-heavy, heavy) are used too for the MIDI out? Do you you the 'Local Control' OFF to disconnect the sound engine when using it with VSTI's or do you just turn the volume down? Disclaimer, I also posted a topic about this just some minutes go here. And interesting that you mention the release velocity, I posted a question about it just some minutes ago. 🙂 I'm a bit new to this piano emulating world and I'm not sure whether note off velocity is a thing you want to have.
  7. To all the experienced people here. I understand what MIDI off velocity is, but is it important to have? Do many other stage piano have this feature or is it more common to not have it. I'm wondering what I miss with not having it with the px-100/3000?
  8. I thinking about the px1000 or 3000 as a VST master keyboard. Is there any reason why the 'Local Control' is reset for the 1000 model after powering the unit off? It's one of the few parameter that seems to be reset according to the manual even with the 'automatic continue' function enabled (which saves the parameters after off/on). But it seems not to be the case for the 3000 according to the manual, as far as I see. I don't understand why. I want to use it most of the time just with VST plugins inside my daw and therefore I don't want to hear anything from the keyboard. Therefore I thought 'Local Control' OFF is the way to go. But setting it up every time I start the px-1000 would be a pita. On the other hand I'm wondering whether it is better after all to just turn the volume down to zero and NOT using 'Local Control' OFF, because you would just need to turn the volume up when I want to play the piano without my computer turned on. But I'm wondering if there is any disadvantage when I just tun the volume off compared to the using 'Local Control' OFF to turn off the px sound engine? Any noise out of the speaker or technical disadvantage or lifetime disadvantage? I would be great o hear some knowledgable opinions about this, as I'm a beginner in this matter. Cheers!
  9. Any new KennyC? I also think about the px-1000 or 3000 as a master keyboard for vst plus-ins at the moment and have the same question regarding whether the two sensor action with smart scaling works for the midi out. When not it would be worse than a tree sensor master keyboard. I think it should be good to test when you record midi notes and play a single key fast without releasing the key more than 50% up?
