  1. Oh that's awesome thanks. Just out of interest. Is there a way to do a complete back up ...to a memory stick or similar?
  2. Does anyone know how long the PXS 3000 will hold it's memory (presets etc) when powered off / not plugged in to the mains. I'm not gigging at the moment (due to Covid) so the keyboard has been sitting under the bed for six months. Do I need to get it out occasionally and connect it to the mains to keep the battery charged? Or is it just a button cell like a CR2032 that will eventually need to be replaced?
  3. Just to add with my "using internal speakers and a single QSC cp8"... one of the downsides of using a single speaker (not a sub) is that as you turn that speaker up, because you're summing the output to mono, you loose some of the niceties of the effects. In particular the rotary effect doubles in speed (normally it would flip from one speaker to another but because you have only one, it sounds like the rotary is almost a tremelo). This only happens when you turn the single speaker up to a point where it is louder than the internal speakers..... Worth noting that if you give a mono feed to a PA this will happen too..... The answer is as above, use a sub if that gives you enough welly coupled with the internal speakers, or use two external speakers (and a sub if necessary)...... If I do any louder gigs regularly, I'll buy another cp8 as they are a lovely, portable speaker, and they're flippin loud!
  4. I've done the same as Rod with a QSC Cp8
  5. Apparently not. I asked about this a while ago 😞
  6. I've set up a piano sound with knob 1 as a brilliance control and knob 2 as reverb send. I also set up some other features / settings and saved it as a registration However, after recalling that registration, any normal preset I select (not a registration) has the knobs assigned to the same dsp, brilliance and reverb and has some of the other features as well (level balance for example) . What I want is for them to go back to the factory settings. How do I do this? I think it's something to do with the freeze function but I can't work it out. Can anyone help? Cheers Matthew
  7. If you're based in the Uk: I just bought this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07C6PG38H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's similar to the one linked above, fits the PXS3000 albeit a bit big but has elastic and a drawstring so is actually quite snug, DOesn't look as aesthetically pleasing as a custom one would but does the job. It's fabric by the way and not waterproof.
  8. Yep thanks Mike. Really helpful. Perhaps the manual could be updated at some point to clarify this? Thanks again. Matthew
  9. Ahhhhhhhhh -ok! So using the brilliance / rev knob setting! Fantastic thanks! So for anyone else struggling with this: Press "function" until the display shows "CTRL" then on the right hand side, press "knob", then use the "+" and "-" keys until "02: Brilliance/ Rev" is displayed. Turn knob number 2 to adjust the reverb send.
  10. Absolutely. The only way is to try them out really. See how they sound in your room. Yep some of those You tube recordings are recorded on peoples phones I think which doesn't really help much does it.? 😁
  11. Ah right. Sorry I misunderstood a bit there. Glad you managed to find some that you are happy with . The piano sounds nice through my Genelec 8030's but you can't turn them up super loud. The R65's look nice. Similar tweeter to the adam????
  12. Absolutely. Yep. A button would be ideal. I was hoping you could map the sustain pedal to this function. I think the PX is definitely a compromise. I think they've tried to fit lots in to an electric piano at a certain price point, and for the money they've done very well. It's just a shame they seem to have overlooked a few things that would have made life a bit easier when using it live.
  13. Thanks Brad. That;s a real shame. I noticed that one or two sounds are already monophonic ...would be great if we could have access to that feature. I'll add it to my survey :-)
  14. Thanks for your reply Brad. Sorry - I thought you were a casio rep on this board apologies if I got that wrong. So I've also noticed that you can't add reverb to certain sounds, things like the amped wurly. So maybe this is some weird limitation with the dsp engine? Does anyone have a contact for any tech support people at casio? There's a tech support number listed on the UK website but when you call it there aren't actually any options to connect you to tech support.....
  15. Can I ask what monitors you settled on in the end? I'm thinking about QSC Cp8's .....
  16. I guess you've probably discovered that this isn't possible. The only way is to select one of the other dsp's and start from scratch.
  17. Brad - could you comment on this? Basically if you edit the dsp on a sound and then save it as a registration, there is no longer any reverb on the sound. It doesn't matter if you change the reverb settings - type, depth or turn the sound mode on of off; there is just no reverb at all. Surely this must be a bug??????
  18. Is there a way to do this? The synth lead sounds would be much more effective for me if they were monophonic rather than poly. I looked through the manual but couldn't find a way to change this.
  19. just thought I'd highlight an error in Mike's video: when it gets to 56.20 and mike says that you can walk into a store, select the first organ tone "Js Organ" and knob 1 will effect the rotary speed, it doesn't. As they come by factory default, knobs one and 2 are set to "Cutoff " and "resonance" for every tone. You can of course edit the knobs to have them effect "dsp parameters" but by default this isn't the state they are in. Just thought I'd highlight that for new users.....
  20. I'd like to know the answer to this too. 😀 New to the keyboard so maybe I'm missing something?
  21. Thanks brad. Will do. And will add in one about naming user registrations too. That would be really useful! John, did you manage to edit the default "tone" dsp set up for the organ or did you have to change the effect chain to something else?
  22. I'm a little surprised this isn't set up by default. Seems like casio missed a trick here. Every sound has the two knobs set as default as "cut off" and "resonance" but surely the thing most users want to adjust on the organ emulations by default is the rotary? Seems like a lot of work to get this done.....or maybe I'm missing something?
