  1. While I'm still hoping Casio may introduce this feature either through a firmware update or a Chordana app update, I have found a workable solution using the iMIDIPatchbay app on an iPad. By switching the keyboard to Local Control Off and programming the midi parameters for the keyboard sounds into the app, I'm able to layer the sounds and adjust the volume of the layers via the app. You can also layer keyboard sounds with other app sounds like Korg Module and do things like turn off the sustain pedal for the layer sound etc. It's transformed the keyboard for me but I'm a beginner so I'm not sure if it would suit professional gigging etc. I haven't found a way of renaming the layers on the app, which would be really helpful, instead I just save different setups as songs and title them accordingly.
  2. Just for info in case it's useful to anyone....I ended up exchanging the CDP-S350 and the new one is fine so there was an issue with the speaker on the first one! Thanks
  3. Do Casio listen to feature requests? If so, it would be great if they would consider updating the Casio CDP-S350 to allow adjusting the volume of layers, I find the volume of the second layer to be much too loud and it's a real shame that such a feature packed keyboard doesn't offer this fairly basic functionality (unless I'm missing something?). I see Roland offer this on their entry level model (FP-10) via their Piano Partner app, could Casio do the same thing and offer it via the Chordana app? Hope there's someone from Casio out there listening! Thanks in anticipation!
  4. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I bought it online as I couldn't find any local stores that sold it. If anyone has the same model and could test what theirs is like for me that would be great, I would rather not have to go through the process of returning it but if it is faulty then that's a different matter, thanks again.
  5. Hello, I recently purchased the Casio CPD-S350 and I've noticed that the case/speakers reverberate/crackle at higher volumes, is this typical? It tends to be the right speaker that's worse, if I put some weight down on that side over the speaker it gets better. It's pretty much ok up to max volume on the stage piano setting but if I layer a pad or use some of the other tones like the organs I'm not able to turn the volume much past 12 o clock before the reverberating/crackling starts. Maybe I'm expecting too much from the internal speakers but reviews suggested they were pretty good so I'm wondering if there's an issue with my keyboard or if this behaviour should be expected. Many thanks.
  6. That's a shame, thanks for confirming. I was looking at the PX-S3000 due to built-in speakers and portability, a PX-5S with built-in speakers and PX-S3000 aesthetics would be perfect!
  7. Sorry for hijacking an old thread but this is related. I'm interested in purchasing the PX-S3000 but would just like to check whether a particular usage scenario is possible... I would like to be able to use the internal sounds at the same time as the keyboard controlling an external sound via midi. Ideally I would like to have for example a main piano sound, with an internal strings sound as a layer that I can control the volume of with one of the knobs, while the other knob controls the volume of an external sound via midi. Having looked at the documentation it looks like it should be possible but my concern is whether the second knob would also be changing the parameter of an internal sound at the same time as controlling the volume of the external sound via midi. Is there any way of assigning the second knob so it only controls the external midi volume without affecting an internal parameter? Hope that makes sense! Thanks
