  1. That would pretty much render pushing the Casio from the Hammond useless for me then. What I've done in the past is have a Combination on the Hammond set to play external units & used it to play some iPad apps. I would just bring up the sound I wanted on the iPad then and they would all play from just the one combination on the Hammond It sounds like with the Casio though I would have to set up multiple Combinations on the Hammond, one for each sound I wanted to play from the Casio., which is too much of a hassle. That's one of those head scratcher "why did they do it like that" situations. Thanks for the reply though, Brad. Even though it's not what I wanted to hear I appreciate you letting me know.
  2. Thanks for the replay, Brad. Just to make sure - - - does that mean I wouldn't be able to use the Registration buttons and dial on the CT to choose the tones and could only do so through MIDI? If so, that would definitely be a deal breaker.
  3. Thanks for the replies, Mike and Chas. I had copied the post to the Keyboard Corner Forum and, along with Mike's same reply, another poster there had also suggested that host box/converter. Just to be sure: the micro USB on the CT will play MIDI to my DAW on the computer, but does that port receive MIDI as well? It looks like I would be connecting the MIDI out of the Hammond to the MIDI in on the converter but then I would have to run a USB-A to the Micro USB on the CT. So it would need to be capable of 2-wat transmission. Thanks again.
  4. I've been trying to get my Hammond SKPro to play (trigger) the sounds from the CT-S500 via MIDI. The only way I can get it to almost work is using a MIDI dongle from the MIDI out of the SK and have the CT dongle attached. However after the first few notes the latency jumps to about a second. I've tried running a USB-B from the TO HOST out on the Hammond to the USB-A TO DEVICE on the CT with no luck. Also tried a USB-B from the Hammond to the USB Micro on the CT with the same (non)results. The Bluetooth attempt was with one of the WIDImaster dongles. I also have a Yamaha dongle but you have to put an app on the receiving device to get it to recognize it, a feature I don't think the CT has. And it's very possible it would get the same delay. Has anyone been able to trigger the CT sounds from another keyboard using just USB cables? And also, would it have killed them to include good old common MIDI sockets on this keyboard? Thanks in advance. Addendum to the original post: I did hook the SK up to a DAW on my computer just to make sure the Hammond was working correctly and it does trigger MIDI on the DAW.
  5. Now that I've found the DSP map it brings up another question. Some of the DSP sections on the voices of the PX don't match the chart. For example: I was using 007 Piano, Ambient Piano (yeah, I know, kinda reaching with that trivia reference) and the DSP mix was M1: Enhancer, M2: Compressor, M3: Delay and M4: Tremolo. That configuration doesn't appear on the chart. I would like to try that combo on some of the other pianos but can't find it there. There was another configuration when I was working with one of the Wurlitzer pianos a few nights ago that I would like to try with Rhodes but it doesn't appear on the chart either. Is there some way to set up a custom chain of modules or are these chains "hard-wired" into specific tones or voices and not available for anything else? Thanks.
  6. It's still there but not as noticeable with Stage Piano. I was using the Concert Piano before. I tried bright ones like the Rock Piano and it's there too. I was going through all the Others voices in the interim and oddly enough the one where it's not noticeable is GM Piano1.
  7. I tried being as "even fingered" as possible but (being human) the results won't be perfect. At first there is a G chromatic scale. The phenomenon starts around Bb above middle C and is pretty much back to normal by F or G. The second part is a simple figure in thirds. I started in D to show the normal sound. Shortly after the beginning of that part you can hear first the top notes being a little muted and by about halfway through you can hear both parts showing this effect. Please let me know if you want something more involved or a specific figure or song to be played. Thanks. TAKE01.WAV
  8. Maybe dead zone isn't quite the right term, but does anyone notice that the acoustic piano sound from around Bb above middle C up to around the Eb note sound a little more dull & less alive than the rest of the keyboard? I tried with a few of the different acoustic pianos on there & it appears on all of them. I don't know if everyone's PX has that problem or maybe it's just the keybed on mie has a flaw. Thanks.
  9. Looking through the downloadable pdf's & also documentation sent with the PX-S3000, I can't find a chart with the map of settings for the DSP section. Running the Chordana Play for Piano would help but I'm running into the same roadblock as everyone else trying to use this with Windows. Is there a list/map out there somewhere and could anyone point me to that location? Thanks, Ben
