  3. Actually they should run simultaneously. Just pick up any sequencer you want (cubase, reaper, ...) and open the ediror at the same time. It should work.
  4. Playing and laerning a lot!

  5. For me the sound architecture in my PX5S is its best asset. It's so great. Powerful, flexible, almost endless in terms of results. Let me tell you it is just a matter of getting used to.
  6. I suppose you're meaning to save and load inside the internal memory of the PX5S (not the USB). To save: edit all of the settings you need to edit. Then press write. Choose the stage setup you want to store in (page E-31 on tutorial manual). To load: choose first the bank and then the specific stage setup where you saved it (page E-26 on basic manual).
  7. Of course. Just copy the complete Hexlayer (or the complete stage setting) and then modify it.
  8. Power is nothing without control, Normski, but even the control itself - as in many other branded keyboards - is nothing without power. I believe you've forgotten something. Even with the things you mentioned, you deliberately hid that PX-5S is a wonderful lightweight piano - it's admittedly so sweet to gig with 10Kg - with very nice Piano and Electric Piano sounds, with more than decent synth/pad/strings sounds, 256 polyphony, drums, outstanding dynamic keyboard, and many many more features at a price which is half of what you usually find on the market today. I know that PX-5S has some areas of improvement (agree on control pedal and solo mode), but it remains something unbeatable at the moment, even against MOXF or FA.
  9. Well done, Hugh! What presets are you using?
  10. Thank you Jokey, I'm glad you share the same view. Can anyone from CASIO support team confirm this is a limitation? Thx.
  11. I can't believe. What a strange and user-enemy implementation decision. This is a big pity! Let's wait for Mike Martin words, I can't believe it is not possible!
  12. So, you're experiencing the same as I'm doing. I strongly believe we're missing something. Please advanced members, experts, help. How is the correct use of the mixer?
  13. Ok. Let's see step by step. + Performance Mode + I choose performance 0-2 Advanced Hex. It is a 4-layers performance. + I press mixer. + If I move one slider, let's say the 1/9 slider (the first one), only the first layer plays. Why? + If I move the slider 2/10, the second slider, only the secon layer plays. And so on. + If I press part- I can go to ALL or MASTER (hard to understand the difference). Then I move 1 slider, and all the volumes change! I want to have control of volume balance for all tones, while I play all of them. Is it possible
  14. Hi there. I'm a newcomer to the wonderful world of XW-P1. I already own a PX-5S, Casio is becoming more and more important in my set-up. I'm having first experiences with XW-P1, and I'm quite sure I miss something... but I'm not having performance mixing right. I try to move drawbars, after pressing mixer button, but suddenly only the selected part is playing. So, if I have a performance with 2 or 3 parts, it must be possible to balance all volumes of all parts while playing them, right? I just press mixer button and then move sliders. What am I doing wrong? By the way, I think XW-P1 is really great on HexLayers and SoloSynth. For some PCM, I think there is area for improvement. For example, electric pianos are not so playable. Is there an electric piano patch (even built with HexLayers) that you can suggest? Thx a lot!
  15. I have the same impression. The sound seems to be deeper.
  16. Do not forget about the weight. It is important, depending on your priorities. In less than 11KG, you have nice synths, decent acoustic emulation and a wonderful piano sound and feel. I would not sell!
  17. Sorry the MOXF is 741MB (when converted to 16-bit linear format), 3,977 waveforms!!!
  18. Agree with you. A simple drum track is what is missing.
  19. Gueninmi, I can hardly undertand why we should need a sequencer on a live keyboard. PX5S is a stage piano, and in 2013 you can find WIN/MAC/LINUX sequencers that run on your computer. Even free.
  20. The AMP section gives you the ability to configure the amplitude (the volume) of the sound, shaping it along the timings and levels you like. The FILTER section gives you the ability to configure the filter timings and levels that apply to the sound. To hear some audible difference, keep in mind that some sound reacts to filter variations much more than others (depending on the type of sound), and that you need to configure also CUTOFF and RESONANCE in the filter section.
  21. Completely agree. Furthermore, In 1.2 firmware I would love to have a more effective MIDI keyboard response (I see that it is hard to reach velocity around 128 according to my measurements)
  22. We do need a tutorial of #tones, #settings, and their relationship.
  23. To even add some more misunderstanding, when I read the Tutorial Manual on page E-6, there's a picture showing the number of tones that can be used inside a setting, and it states 180 user and 300 preset tones. So, at the end, we surely need to have clear understanding of how many tones and settings we can have in total.
  24. This is exactly the doubt I was having when I asked the question. Is it a total of 400+350?
  25. You say "What makes the PX-5S unique is that tones themselves are stored within the Stage Setting." That means we can store 100 stage settings with customized tones inside. So why is this link http://www.casiomusicgear.com/products/menu_privia/PX-5S stating that we have 350 user tones? Thx for your help.
