  1. Hey there: Some preset tones that may be what you want: E Piano Banlk - 047: Tubular Bell Synth Bank - 115 - Christmas Bell
  2. Not sure how the keyboard "fixed" itself - so my guess is it was an electronic issue not a mechanical issue. That single key though: That sounds like a sensor issue on that one key. It could be something as simple as some dust or other debris in there that a good blast from a can 'o 'air will clear up, or it could be the actual sensors need to be looked at. Try the can o air and see if that helps (really blast it good from all angles with the keyboard upside down so anything in there has a better chance of falling out) --- If that doesn't work, it needs some real service.
  3. MIDI clock was implemented in the latest firmware (1.40) update.... Have you done this? http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=1210
  4. So sorry the seller won't work with you on this. You next step is to contact your closet repair center to get this looked at under warranty: http://www.casio-intl.com/in/en/support/repair/emi/ Hope everything works out!
  5. Hi there and welcome to the Casio Forums. I am thinking it sounds like some resonance with the speakers or their housing. Does it sound better at lower volumes and get worse as you increase? Did you buy from a local shop?
  6. Hi there and welcome to the Casio forums. From my research, Casio doesn't support Mac drivers for this model . There is a third party driver that may help you out. Note: This is not an official driver so use at your own risk: https://code.google.com/archive/p/casiousbmididriver/ I found it from this thread, and the person with the issue marked it as "solved", so it seems legit, but again Casio or Apple do not support or endorse this. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2248746?tstart=0
  7. Hey I have one too. I spend half my time tuning it and the other half playing out of tune! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
  8. Hey there and welcome to the Casio Forums? Voice prompt? Maybe you mean sampling your voice using a the built-in or external mic?
  9. If you're looking for a live gig board I would def. take the MZ-X over the XW-P1. Making "set-lists" with the registrations is very easy and you can sample sounds, note, or do phrases with the sample pads. The XW-P1 is awesome, but for your application I'd say the MZ-X 10000%
  10. I watched and listened to your video - it sounds perfectly normal. That being said, hearing is a very subjective sense, I suggest using a parametric EQ to customize the sound so it is pleasing to you.--- may help "smooth" out the frequencies that bother you.
  11. Hi there and welcome to the Casio forums. One thing to realize about those vintage synth sounds is they are all built on very basic waveforms with adjustments being made to the envelope, filter and delay effects. THAT'S IT! I gave a quick listen and I heard a square wave and a sawtooth wave. Those are all in the XW-P1 as basic waveforms. As a bonus you will find actual samples from many famous vintage synths in there as well -- so check out those raw waveforms and tweak until you get it where you want it to be.
  12. Pretty sure sound source is still AHL (it is on the new CTK-2550, so I'm guessing the all are). It may sound better due to better effects. It's amazing what a splash of reverb and delay can do to make a sound 100% better. It's one of the big reasons the Roland D-50 did so well back in the 80s.. was the first synth with built in digital effects.
  13. New Instruments Introduced at NAMM: http://www.casio.com/news/detail/casio-to-introduce-new-electronic-musical-instruments-at-winter-namm-2017
  14. ^^ THAT ^^ -- If you need a keyboard with a sustain pedal, check out http://CasioMusicGear.com and peruse the keyboards, making sure to check out the specs to see if they have a pedal. If you are looking to do piano-type playing, I highly suggest looking at the Privia models. They have an awesome keyboard feel and piano sound. The entry level is the PX-160 at $500 and they go up from there. If you are on a budget, the Casio CDP-130 is $400 (and sometimes $300 on sale) and is a very good value. And yes, all the Privias and the CDP-130 have sustain pedal inputs!
  15. Display Name

    Casio PX560

I am going to guess the the "ES" indicates the manual is in Spanish español
  16. Look in the controllers section and make sure the mod wheel is activated.
  17. Oh you're not alone! It is tricky to figure out. You may not even need to deal with NRPN -- standard MIDI CC's may get it done -- all depends on how you set it up. Bottom line: Be prepared to spend some time experimenting and dialing it in -- but it WILL do what you want once you get the pedal and P1 talking to each other correctly!
  18. While it's true you can't advance a performance using the standard foot switch as you can on some of the newer Casios, YOU can use a programmable MIDI pedal run into the XW-P1's MIDI in port. There will be some finagling and experimenting to get everything set correctly, but if you need this functionality that's how you do it. I'd look at the Behringer MIDI Foot Controller FCB1010. It has a lot of cool functions, dedicated up/down switches, 10 programmable switches and dual expression pedals.
  19. OK, I'm in on this! My ideal Casio would feature the following: - 88 key Privia keyboard - Step sequencer from the XW Series - Solo synth mode - 4 hexlayers - 8 arpeggiators - lots of knobs and sliders
  20. Yes I just saw the new Akai stuff.. very impressive. My best advice for Casio lovers is to post what you would like to see in a instrument. Casio really listens to their user base, and while there's no guarantee everything you want will be implemented, they do listen and do what they think is feasible. The Privia Pro PX-560 is a perfect example of this. While the PX-5S is an awesome keyboard, people wanted more: transpose buttons, better display, EXPRESSION PEDAL INPUT, and speakers. Well, that's what they got with the 560/. Don't hesitate to start a new thread with your "wish list". Again, no guarantee it will get in, but the Casio guys do monitor this forum and make note of what we are looking ofr.
  21. I think that was a decision based on how they thought how people would be using MIDI with them: as a master controller to send full sequence data to soft synths. The fact there is no 5 pin MIDI supports that notion. That being said, I do know more than a few people who passed on the PD1 because no MIDI DIN and no Sync - so it's good feedback for Casio for their next groove box.
  22. Hey there. You probably have some USB issue on your computer. The CTK-4400 is class compliant so there are no drivers to download or anything. Try another cable, USB port or computer to see where the issue is. As for recording: The 4400 does not record actual audio, only performance DATA. So you need to send the audio from from the keyboard and iphone out to a separate recorder.
  23. Hi there and welcome to the forums. The first thing I would do is call your dealer and see what they recommend. Not sure how it works over in the NLs.. you may be able to arrange in-home service. Either way, I would not advise trying to fix it yourself as you could void your warranty. But call your dealer and go from there. Good luck!
  24. Very good tips. In the "old days" it was easy to figure out from past works what sounds worked best together -- with electronic music it's a lot of trial and error. Much of my time is spend trying to see how different synth sounds blend and find their "space" in the mix. Sometimes it sound like cats in a blender, other times it's just perfect. I love the process of trying to find unheard sounds and make them sound perfect with other unheard sounds. It's like discovering new life. Ok, back to it.. To boldy go .............
  25. Hi and welcome to the forums. Sounds like the temperament of your CDR got changed. See page EN-54 of the manual http://support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/008/Web_CDP230-ES-1B_EN.pdf and change the tuning to EQUAL TEMPERAMENT.
