  1. I found a setup in a music preset that works perfectly for Coldplay's Yellow but I need adjust tempo and some other things. How do I save my changes? The registration save doesn't appear to work when you have music preset activated.
  2. Got it now! Is there a way to adjust the volume of the backing track from the keyboard or do I have to adjust from the source...my phone?
  3. Well I use it to connect my PC to my speakers so I thought it would work
  4. I connected my tablet to the keyboard with a mini plug from the headphone Jack to the audio in Jack but I can't hear anything through the keyboard speakers. 8 am trying to play along with a backing track. Do I need a special cable or do I need to set something on the keyboard? Thanks in advance. I have a wk6600.
  5. Thanks a bunch! I got it! Loving the music presets feature which I assume is designed as a starting point for playing songs that sound similar. I found a few threads where posters have figured out which songs are in each preset. Very fun feature!
  6. I got the 6600 for a great deal. I'm liking it so far but the buttons are hard to see. I'm wondering if there's a list of the tones rhythms etc. That's not in the manual.
  7. Thanks for that information. I am actually not unhappy with my WK3000 as I'm just playing for my own personal enjoyment and its very adequate. But I always checkout whats on the online marketplaces in case I find a deal that "I can't pass up". Now I know which ones to review further and which ones to pass on.
  8. I have a wk3000 and I saw a wk6600 for a good price. Is that a worthwhile upgrade or a lateral move?
  9. Yes that's where I'm headed so you saved me another post lol. I'm looking to record parts of Coldplays Fix You so I can play along and was getting to trying to figure out how to do that. I'm going to read over your instructions and the manual and let you know how it goes. Thanks for your detailed responses.
  10. So it appears that you're on the right track but on my unit the auto harmonize is on track 5. I still haven't figured out how track 4 is used.
  11. Thank you. I'll review that section of the manual.
  12. Thank you. I'll review that section of the manual.
  13. I am a little confused about the layer and split. I choose a main voice, hit layer to choose a second voice, hit split to choose a third voice for the lower keys. When I choose split independently of layer I notice a 4th different voice that I haven't chosen. When I hit layer again my original third voice is back. What am I missing?
  14. Yes that did help. So following up on what you said, I wouldn't be using midi files or other devices, so the gm tones would be extras for me I guess. The synth pads should be used for layering then since they're for padding the sound, if I understand what you're saying. The dsp light then would indicate there are dsp effects in that tone and if the light is off, or if I turn it off manually, the effects will be removed? For the drum tracks to be removed, I would turn it off and then save that setup I guess in the registration. Please correct me if I missed something,. I am also not clear on how to save registrations. Is the bank the only place? So I only have 32 possibilities? Or can I save them to the card, which I have, and then recall them if I run out of banks? Thanks.
  15. I am new to keyboards in general and I'm having a difficult time figuring out some of the features. A little background - I have played piano before and own an acoustic piano but I wanted to start playing again after many years. I purchased a preowned Casio WK 3000 and I'm trying to learn how to get the most out of it with my limited experience with digital keyboards. I've watched some youtube videos of other casio models and also I've studied the user manual. What is the difference between preset tones, GM tones and synth pad tones1? What is DSP and how do I use it? Is there a way to use auto accompaniment without the drum sections automatically coming on? I don't always need rhythm but I like the fullness and arpeggios that auto accompaniment adds when I use fingered chords and full range chord features. I realize these are very basic but any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
