  1. Hello Lighthunt. I apgree witgh your statements. For me, it seems to happen ALL the time. I turn on the keybpard, and unless I unplug and plug it back in, the full sustain affect is NOT there. It more of a weak, shortt sustain. It is two things: 1 - an annoyace 2 - a worry, because at some point, the connector will break, or maybe a pin in the keyboard Is this a bug in e software, of I have a defective keyboard and/or pedal unit?
  2. I have no regrets buying the 3 pedal sp34 for my PC-S3000. It has the right feel. Nice But, there is something that bugs me about it. Sometimes, when I sit down to play the piano and I go to use the pedal. But, the sustain pedal just does not sustain! This happens after knowing that it worked the previous time playing the piano. I end up, on a regular basis, having to unplug and plug it back i in order to make it work. Why does this happen? This in and of itself is an annoyance, but not the end of the world. My worry is more medium/long term where the connection my go bad or a pin might break due to ware and tear. Ideas? Suggestions?
  3. Hello Ian, Thanks for other link. I will look it over. As for your comment that the Casio will show up like any other device. You might be right, but I am an absolute newbie when it comes to computers and midi. I do not know what the normal thing is or how it works. Thanks Joseph
  4. Thanks Brad So, if my computer was set up correctly, and it sees the keyboard, iI would record directly to my compter software(notation or DAW). When I open th enotatin software, it woudl see the keyboard right away? Do I see the keyboard as an external drive? Or, how do I know the keyboard is hooked up and visible? I know that these quetsions are not Casio keyboard questions, but I am trying to understand what should happen, and then I will need to dig into the Linux community to get things working. If others are out there using LInux, please drop me a line.) Thanks Joseph
  5. OK, maybe I should back up a little. What should I be able to do? Should I be able to connect my Casio PSX 3000, via the USB cable, to my computer? I would then see a folder pop o my desk top that would contain the MIDI files I want? The editing can be direct? Can the software I found be able to load in the files directly from the keyboard? Or, does the file always have to be exported, and manipulated outside the keyboard? Thanks Joseph
  6. I use a Linux computer, Ubuntu/Linux MINT to be exact).. I want to be able to take the music I make and put it on sheet music so that I can play it back by reading the sheet music. Where can I find info to be able to hook my Casio PSX3000 to my computer and do this? Thanks Joseph
  7. Well, after a few trials and errors, and money wasted buying new USB keys, I found a working one. brand new one - kingston - would not even mount lexar- maybe 2 years old - taks 10-30 seconds to mounts generic one - maybe 3-4 years old - 10-30 seconds to mount generic(promo USB key fpr a conference) - mounts in 3 seconds - it is at least 10 years old. My casio PSX 3000 does not like, for some reaosn, newer USB keys:( I hope that I do not lose the one that works... All of them work well on Linux and Windows computers. I woudl assume that Casio uses normal generic drivers in their keyboards. Why doe smy USB keys work well? At least it works now:)
  8. I did Patricks suggtsion, and I reformated the USB key again. Well, not it does not mount at all !! I reformmatted with the keyboard and my computer. No luck at all. Jokey man has had bad luck, as I have not had any isues of data loss or low speeds before. But be reminded, the issue is NOT with my computers. Only on the psx3000. Both my computers have USB 3 or USB 2. It works on both of them. PSX3000 is USB2. The USB key is 3.0 with 2.0 compatibilte. So, it works on computers with USB 2 and 3, but not on the casio with 2.0. I will try to find a USB 2.0 key to test. Wierd...
  9. It did seem long. The keyboard is just a soecialized computer, so I am sure the mounting routines are similar(if not th esame) to Windows, Mac or Linux. The USB key works fine on my computers. Mounts in a few seconds of being connected. (Windows and Linux) I unfortunately do not have any laying around to test. I am hoping that I do not need to buy 3-4 different brand USB keys to find at least one that works correctly. I will have to ask around for some kind soul to lend me a USB key for a few minutes to test it:)
  10. It is a 16GB kingston USB key. Says it is compatible with USB 2 and 3.
  11. There is about 48k used. Almost empty. I formatted the usb key on the keyboard recently, and only 4-5 songs recorded on it.
  12. Hello I got my PSX 3000 a couple month back and have slowly been exploring what it can do. I have been laying around with the recording aspect of thing, and have been able to move files off and on the keyboard with ease. I have noticed recently that it takes a long time to mount the USB for it to become readable. Long time meaning 2-4 minutes, and sometimes longer. What is the normal mounting time for a USB key? Thanks Joseph
  13. Hello, I have a similar issue. I have tried my iPad andmy LG G7 phone. I read somewhere in the forums that iPad needs its oown Apple something. I forget what this is. Can you remind me what this special apple connector is? And, what type of cable goes form this apple adapter to the psx 3000? For the LG G7 android phone, I bought a cable that fits into the back of the PSX 3000, and is the female version of the normal USB plug. I then plugged it into the android via a normal charhing cable, and it does not recognize it. Thannks Joseph
