As far I know thus so far Ralp Maten and Max Tempia one of Europe demonstrator that said lots of video's demonstrating Casio keyboards on the web but they sure miss a front man or keyboard wizzard showing off with the latest PX , XW synth or WK workstation sounds tips tricks or awe unheard performance . Not sure if that Casio call because of the list of affiliated (*American*) artist using their products. Raises the question what is a good demo, I really liked Ralp and Max demo of the PX5S both are very good keyboard players that representative for Europe. And I have to practice a bit more to show off some not published piece-the-resistance of my I need speed in my fingers to pull it off for the PX5S and XW because there is a sonic performance part that kicks its awesomeness even up some more wish I could share it today .

No fuss 3 chilling patterns a lowsub solosynth an organ a timpani. Sample a kick ass bit to switch in between works pretty darn good that sampler. After I've finished it lay on the couch with a cold one let the sun do its work while I sit enjoy the good springtime feeling doing nutting. Fender Rhodes has as it is a warmer sound, I am amazed that the PX5S almost match it near original the only thing missing is that bottom buzztwang you hear all in all a good match. Probably a user stage if I had to ques its one from community created files Mau Van maybe.

Uhm just to be sure are you on about the newer CDP 130 because the latest version has the action of the Privia's, Also much newer keybed then the PX. Then again I'm not sure if its the newest CDP130 you're comparing?

Hi all did you know the mixer capabilities of the XW extends setting for each channel part. When you built you're step part on the bare meaning no reverb , chorus, filters or any CC. Its possible to add them after wards in real time give the step sequence an extra dimension, The way I do it is making an Performance and assign to each knob a CC like this. Knob 1 - Chorus Knob 2 - CutOff Knob 3 - Release Knob 4 - Decay I save this as "Room Eq" mind you I have only assign CC to the knobs. Next I've set a step sequence drm1 bd, drm2 sn, drm3 hh, Bass, sol1, sol2 and chord. Now start playing the Sseq and then press the "Mixer" button. Select the part to edit filters/fx in realtime using the "Part -/+" and while turning the knobs edit each and any part to have a rich sound to the overall mixing of the pattern by giving it more or less chorus, cutoff , release or decay. like giving an amount of chorus to the snare , A longer release on the drums Have the bass sound a bit dry or pan sol1,sol2. Off course this can be expanded in to tweaking such as a better strumming fx while editing a channel real-time. If you then save Step sequence the mixing still there. Create performance as such that gives you're step sequence a good mix for that performance. However this can be done manually also if you press "mixer" and edit the preferences for each channel but this way you have more variety in using other CC assigned to the knobs which are not in accessible through the channel part. Hi all I have a request about new stuff put in the download tab, You all have great patches in the make and set them up for download and that is super however there is a volume of releases exceeding the overall view over them where it is easy to loose track from. Like if you post 1 or 4 patches that is oversee-able but when its over that amount it really hard to pick a good one out. If there is a special theme to you're patches bundle them together in a zip file together with a txt/pdf list of the sound. This way if you also do want to update the patches you don't have to individually access each patches and upload them again, which I think would be a daunting task if you have several of them. I hope this rings along as a good idea for you're next patches, There are already a good few packages maintained this way. Regards XW-Addict - Color Is Nature Emotion -

Yup the song sequencer definitely to be creative with that one, One has to see how. It would certainly feed more creativity knowing a few simple steps towards an performance or sound designing.

I was working on a patch for that Interstellar thing (with the in-between time to spend on it), I've found something very interesting while working on this kind of fiddling. https://soundcloud.com/clay-louis-petty/beef-sandwich-a-vegetarian-nightmare-nightfish Wanting to assign Eq to knobs 2 3 and 4 while having cutoff on knob 1. Building a performance patch arranged as follows solosynth on zone 1 and tones for 2 3 and 4,Zone one with the solosynth as a riser like sound configured white noise increasing and lowering cutoff for the Sseq as well. Nice yes but not enough so I rearrange the knobs like this Knob 1 Cuttof , Knob 2 Release , Knob 3 Attack, Knob 4High Gain. So now I don't have full access for Eq having Low , Mid and High which I wanted all and all it was a nice config. And then I let it rest until the next day I found something and was like "Hold on", Solosynth is on zone 1 use the TotalFilter knob to directly access all sliders control function for the solosynth .....Because the G1 can . Yes now I have Filtertype on 1 ,Cutoff on slider 2,Resonance on 3 , Envelope dept on 4. True it's not assignable but its there as I don't need Resonance and Envelope dept for this particular patch I can leave them but Filtertype and Cutoff works well in this case. Thats two sliders and four knobs for this Performance patch and that is because a solosynth is on zone 1 which is convenient. Actually it is two sliders, modulation and bender which you can use effectively. I have not used full scope from solosynth with samples to switch and use Osc block, Env generator,TotalFilter/LFO as of yet this prove, With a bit of creativity there lots to get out from this synthesizer. (I'm still on discovery spree but on the sonic side I'm there dude)

https://soundcloud.com/clay-louis-petty/planet-zed-part-1-interstellar-travel XW-G1 is a though little one, Previous I would use anything in a patch or leave out stuff like DSP over control, Global reverb chorus and in combination with Solo synth. End result was quiet a muddy patch and Sseq over time I learned to get the best of parts of the G1 with much desirable result. I got this Planet Zed song setup as follow in performance I got a solo synth on channel 1, This Ssynth I use as sound fx using white noise in addition I've set arpeggio only to this zone. Then I used on zone 2 a VA synth and 3 has Sweep choir. And then I program a step sequence first in the sampler build that up to a nice groove and rebuild it again in Sseq. Try to figure out if you can hear the switch between Sample loop and Sseq pattern I'm switching between with.
