  1. Wondering if there is a looping feature on CTX700/800? I could only find appreciator. Or is this only available using guitar pedals?
  2. Chandler: Thank you for this. I’ve attempted it with great results. While this is better than nothing, it does require you to pre-plan your patch settings and hope the sounds blend well. I found it doesn’t always sound they way you planned especially when you playing in external (Studio PAs) and ensemble of guitars. Would you have tips to balance the volume to avoid distortion but while being able to cut through everyone else? Two questions: in your video you were able to quickly recall Registration bank patches ; can you explain that? i have to through function - bank - scroll and it’s not able to so in real time.
  3. Thank you for posting this. i had asked this awhile back and basically got the response that it was all trial and error. Usually layering sounds will get 'close enough' to the patches you need, keeping in mind that by default you cannot change the volume for the layering without the hack. But I would love to start a list of sounds that people use for certain songs! I will share that to get the sounds I want, I use the hack that Chandler created and I connect external devices (Macbook and iPad) and software such as SynthOne, FMPlayer2, or a daw like Garage Band/Ableton to get extra tones or custom created tones. I couldnt find any of the effects onboard made a difference so I use physical guitar effect pedals to really get the delay and reverb particular shimmer for U2 songs. ..and this is how you make your $100 arranger work like a pro rig!
  4. Anyone know how to connect effect guitar pedals to CTX and what adapters may be needed? Saw a video of this type of set up on analog synth but perhaps the inputs should be same as arrangers?
  5. Thank you very much for creating this hack. We chatted a bit in Facebook group about this and I got it working late summer and it’s been awesome. I’m able to connect to software via computer or iPad to make my CTX do more so like it’s a much more expensive rig. So thank you!
  6. Hey folks, OMG Sorry for not replying. I forgot I had posted here and thanks for all your responses!! @Molchat: Ive been digging around for a list of sounds using presets and no one anywhere has anything so I am so grateful for your list. I know this little toy wont produce what some of those grand synths are capable of and I understand that. Just something that sounds close enough. Im not interested in adding my equipment to my setup so using SynthOne or a DAW is out of the question Here's the presets I use for songs we do. (I had mentioned 80s synth pop cuz our band leader asked me to look for those so I can be included!) Margaritaville: 449/435 Mad World: 303/286 + 278 Summer of 69/This is how it feels etc: 321/286 Synth: 321 I find that synths alone are not loud enough even on max volume to be heard over the rest of instruments (bass, e guitar, drums etc) Guess its just a lot of trial and error! I still love this little toy rig for what it can do and I wouldnt think of getting rid of it. Its great when paired with a stage/digital piano. It works well esp for a beginner and its portable that Ive brought it to park jams. But I find it very very hard to play a piano style with it after playing on weighted keys.
  7. Hi, im using a CTX800 for a poor mans synth and wondering if anyone has recommendations for what sounds to use for synth songs like Lucky Man, Sweet Dreams. i figured out something decent for JUMP.....it’s really too bad there is only 2 layers and you can’t adjust volume for each sound (yes I know I’ve outgrown the rig for me needs, but I still like it enough to pair with a stage piano)
