  1. Factory foot pedal, and running on batteries...right... Skip to 2:00 to avoid the commercial... Hotel California at 4:40 Behind Blue Eyes at 7:12
  2. Good to know. I use mine as a piano only, as a substitute for my Baldwin Acrosonic so my practicing does not drive my wife batty. The only thing I have ever connected to it is a laptop to run Piano Marvel software.
  3. yep, my kind of humor. Good catch.
  4. All those electric instruments and not a wire or cord in sight except the basic keyboard pedal. The Privia doesn't even have a power supply connected. Looks like a classical version of the Robert Palmer (RIP) girls...
  5. Here is a Casio Privia I found in a performance... Honestly, I was just watching the virtuoso piano work of the lady in the back!
  6. After not really playing piano for 35 years, I'm trying to make up for lost time and some days I'm on my PX-S for 3 or 4 hours a day (retirement + Covid, lots of time on my hands). Another thread addressed the black keys "clicking" after a year or so of use, so I'm curious how much use the keyboard can take. A fair amount of my time is working with Hanon, so the keys get a lot of finger time. Thoughts?
  7. Hey, I just noticed something about the video in the OP. Nick seems to have been successful in turning off ALL of the panel lights while playing, including the blue text square. Also the "equals" sign under the Accomp column appears to be off. Seems I saw another thread about this and there did not seem to be a way to shut the text box off. Thoughts?
  8. have you tried it with more than one set of headphones, just to make sure you don't have a broken wire or other issues with the phones themselves?
  9. The song is the main theme from the Japanese anime movie Howl's Moving Castle. It's an awesome waltz, kind of a Carousal song.
  10. Not sure if this has been shared before, I couldn't find it on this forum using the performer's name. Looks like it was a "drizzly" day as well.
  11. Curious about the specifics; Did the power stay on while keyboard "froze"? By that you mean it looked like it was on but hitting the keys produced no sound? Or did it just power off?
  12. So then have you figured out how this guy keeps his keys and action clean??? Haburu
  13. Thanks for taking the time for a well thought-out answer, I appreciate it.
  14. Other than wiping down the surfaces, is there any need for a between-the-keys cleaning on the PX-S3000? Not knowing what is inside, not sure what is needed. I know on my acoustic piano every couple years I take the keys out altogether and clean the dust out, wipe off the pivot points, etc. Anything like that needed with the Casio? Turn it upside down and blow out with Dust-Off?
  15. That's interesting, as it has to be the #1 accompaniment for songs across numerous genres in the last 100 years... Maybe I worded the question incorrectly, by using the word accompaniment. Can you "play" guitar strums with your left hand with a split keyboard?
  16. Still a newbie at electronic keyboards, trying to figure out Registrations. Does Auto Resume save whatever you were doing when you shut off the PS-X3000 to the Registration that you were in when you shut it off? Even if you did not hold down the "save" button for that Registration? Example; I have Bank 1 Position 1 saved as factory settings for GrPianoCrt. If I change the tone to Stage Piano while I am playing, and then shut the PS off, when I start back up my #1 #1 registration has now changed to Stage Piano? So it lets you be in a Registration and save it without having to hold down the Save light? Might as well ask a 2nd question while I'm here; What is the best way to get a "strumming" guitar accompaniment triggered by left hand?
  17. Yes, that is a problem not only with Casio but with most keyboards, including a lot of acoustic pianos, due to appearance and sale-ability. I like the idea of an optional stand, but it's probably not going to be the best looking thing...
  18. Mike, so what would be the default setting for Grand Piano Concert? The #1 knob at the half-way point?
  19. I have turned on Rhythms by accident on several occasions when turning pages of sheet music. My solution was to set the lights to shut off after 60 seconds, so now when I do it it just turns them back on...
  20. Thought I should give an update on this post. I got the Vox VX50kb amp, made specifically for keyboards... Plenty of LOUD if you want it, but in Concert Grand Piano mode WAY too much bass. I turned the Bass dial all the way down on it and still way too much bass, especially if you are playing left-hand chords and using the Sustain pedal. So I tried a set of studio monitors. First I got a set of 3.5" PreSonus monitors from Amazon, but they arrived DOA. Couldn't even get the power light to come on, so I sent them back, but didn't order another pair because of space constraints with how you have to connect the unbalanced output of the PX-S3000 with the RCA inputs on the Presonus. Pushed them too far from the wall and just looked plain ugly. So I ordered a pair of 3" Mackie studio monitors, the CR3. Weird, but Amazon (through Beach Camera) sent the 3" CR3-X monitors instead. They sound a bit better than the VOX at medium volume, but turn them up and yeah, the bass gets way to heavy and muddled. It's hard to believe how much more "pure" with no distortion is the sound that comes out of the stock PX-S3000 speakers compared to the two "upgrades" I have tried. It's a shame I can't get a bit more volume out of the PX-S3000, because the sound is so much better than when used with an amp. Your mileage may differ, especially if you use the PX for more than just piano sounds. So for now I have relegated the Mackies for use as computer desktop speakers, where they are indeed a nice upgrade over my old speakers. I still have the VOX amp connected, but haven't been using it for any serious piano playing.
  21. I also want to understand, what actually would be the default settings for the Piano Tones? Knob #1 exactly at the half-way point? All the way up? Seems like the word "default" is a little obscure when it comes to the #1 Knob and Cutoff Frequency....
  22. I'm a little amused and a little curious what (I believe to be) the default setting for the first knob is when playing any of the Piano tones. It says "Cutoff Frequency" If you are playing Tone 4, Stage Piano, and the Knob is turned all the way down, you get no sound at all. Same thing if you are playing Tone 10, LA Piano. If you turn the knob up past half way, you get something similar to Tack Piano or Honky Tonk... If you are playing Concert Grand and you have the knob turned all the way down, you get a sound very close to Mellow Grand. I would normally leave both knobs off when playing straight piano, but Cutoff Frequency really affects the sound and that knob cannot be ignored. Maybe I accidentally changed the setting for that knob; does anyone know if that is the default? Thoughts?
  23. I hope that when it gets fixed Casio explains what caused the problem and if it will be happening to every PX-S keyboard or if there were just a few that something was missed during the mfg process.
  24. I was kind of thinking that, or an adapter on the end to convert current 6.5mm to RCA Something like this
