  1. >You can delete phrases on the PX-5s with the data editor. In the transfer panel, drag files from the PX-5s pane to the garbage can icon. Same for songs or anything else. Ah, dragging. Ha, I guess I missed that and that works well. >You will have to rename phrases and songs and arpeggios on the keyboard. I suppose I can live with that. The K1 and K2 knob trick seems to help a lot with renaming. I'm still hoping they make renaming phrases/arpeggios as easy as renaming stage settings in the data editor at some point. Thanks so much to you guys for all your help! Best regards, Steve
  2. Hi Brad, Thanks for the clarification. I think your right that midi files via the data editor might be a better option anyways. As an enhancement request, I think it still would be nice to be able to record in that manner but its not necessary. I really like the data editor but my biggest gripe is that it doesn't let me rename and/or delete phrases (and songs for that matter) that currently exist on the PX5S. I'm guessing it must be because it's not technically feasible to do this in software with the current firmware, but still it would incredibly nice to have these types of abilities. All that aside, I'm still happy that there a path to get things things done. Thanks again! Steve
  3. I just confirmed that exporting phrases from the PX5S to my daw (that is setup to record midi from the PX5S) does work well. To make it work, I needed to set my DAW to the same tempo followed by a small amount of quantizing/tweaking on the DAW side. So thanks for that tip! I did happen to notice what seems to be a PX-5S bug going the other way though. Here is what I did: 1. Setup PX5S to phrase record on input 2. Had my DAW send midi notes to the PX5S Even though I heard the notes that were being sent on the PX5S, the phrase record never started. Fortunately, I'm much more interested on sending phrases from the PX5S rather than receiving anways. Best regards, Steve
  4. Thanks Choppin! This is a good idea. I did try this with Firmware 1.10 but it didn't work. For example, my DAW could see notes I physically pressed but no midi note sent as a result of playing a phrase. However, I now have version 1.13 and this may have been corrected. I will try this again tonight and I will respond to this thread as to if it works (fingers crossed). Best regards, Steve
  5. I like the PX5S abililty to use phrases in various ways. However, one thing I would really like to do is take my phrases and directly export them as MIDI files so I am may use them inside my DAW software. Is there a way to do this directly without the need to create a PX-5S song first? I looked at the latest Data Editor V1.01 but unfortunately I did not see any way to do this. Thanks, Steve
  6. I've had my px5s for about a month and half and I have been really loving it! PROS I love how configurable all the tones and stages are. There is a lot of possibilities! It works great as a midi controller or an external control surface. The sound quality is amazingThe feel of the keys is great. It's lots of fun playing with the different sounds and effects! For sequencing, it works great with midi editors (can simultaneously record from midi channels 1-4 as alternative to phrase record).Love the synth sounds Firmware enhancements I would love in the PX5S keyboard itself Pressing and holding the arpeggio button is a bit too slow if a quick on-the-fly tweak of current appeggio is desired. A faster way to get to that menu would improve the creative flow. When playing and smf file, there is no way to do anything else (change stage, tempo, etc)A midi clock is supported, but unfortunately it does seem like a midi timecode is supported. I use Acid pro and it would help me use the px5s as a master device.Phrase record only plays sounds using zone 1. It would be great to have a way to make it use other zones instead if desired. When playing a phrase, it would be nice it could sync up somehow with the arpeggio being played. When playing a phrase, no midi data is outputted so I cannot record using a midi editorDuring phrase record, the automatic end usually leaves an extra measure which makes looping impossible. Having some way to truncate the end would solve this issue (for example, a way to set number of measures). This part may be out of place, but here are things I wish were in editor: Changing name of phrases, songs, arpeggios seems only possible using px5s knobsNo way to convert phrase files to midi files that I can tellNo way to edit arpeggios in the data editorNo way to convert midi file to song sequencePerhaps I am missing it, but I see no way to set tempo in the data editor for the current stage.Other minor wishes: An Android tablet or phone app to more easily set/edit stage thru USB midi on the fly.Source code to the px5s data editor itself so it can forever evolve and improve by the communityThanks again for releasing this great product!
