  1. Awesome! I think this is your best so far (aside from the other story video)! Like Tsquare says, very tropical and relaxing, my kind of music! I would love to fly by the planets... You do great with the videos, and I love the ending with the waves crashing. Congratulations! Cruises are an excellent way to travel. Those ships are like a resort on the ocean, and when you consider the costs of traveling (hotel, food, entertainment, etc.), you realize what a good value cruising is. You compromise because you stay only a few hours on any given port, but it's a taste, and then you can return on a different trip later if you liked the port. Me, I'm leaving tomorrow for Las Vegas. Not a gambler, but I love the Cirque shows. I'm booked to see "Love", the Beatles show, which I've seen before but I love it. I'm also taking an excursion to Bryce Canyon and Zion Park. Only 5 days, but nice to break the routine. Congratulations again, m10538!
  2. Thanks a lot, m10538! You should have read the lyrics... They were AWFUL!!! But they were in Spanish, so hopefully they'll be gone forever!! Spiraling embarassment for sure! 😁 I laughed so hard.....
  3. I also wrote lyrics for this one, but they were awful and I destroyed them.... Te Extrano.mp3
  4. This song and the next one are old but I never did anything with them except "recovered" them by listening to my casette recordings and playing them again on my PX-780. It doesn't really sound like a song, but whatever... Irish Song.mp3
  5. I can certainly understand your appreciation of music because I feel exactly the same way. I still think you should post the Miko video here. Looking forward to watching the video... wait... it's not a video.... it's a FULL MOVIE!!! 🙂 Making the video is certainly a very creative exercise, so good for you to make them!
  6. I don't know, but SOMETHING must have motivated you to pursue music back in the days... I saw the combo of video and music background and it was great! Does that kind of stuff make sense to you? I mean different topics that could be expressed w/ video and you chose the right music background for the Miko tape. I got enough work trying to squeeze my "piano lessons" (I'm kind of teaching myself) to improve my playing, but there are professional musicians that would definitely take the job. Anybody on this forum?
  7. I couldn't find "Sound and Fury", if you could post it again... I like a section in the middle that has like a calliope sound, not only because of the nice sound, but because you change chords frequently, and that's a key to making the piece interesting, like it's going somewhere... The beginning I found a bit monotonous, and again because more chord changes would spice it up. I think you're WAY too hard on yourself (and I thought I was the worst offender). Your video on Miko was very interesting and creative, and the music background you provided was perfect. I think that you can do best if you tell a story with the video and then find the sounds that you think "fit" the material. I really like the Miko video and I'd like to see more videos telling stories.
  8. Sergey, I only listened to the link on reverbnation and I don't know anything about the midi file. Also I don't know what you mean by "mastering".
  9. I'd like to explore the layering, but I'm not sure how to use it in my arrangements. Right now I'm focusing on improving my plain piano playing, but eventually I'd like to experiment like you. I'm just curious, but how do you decide what voices to add to the various tracks, etc. I wouldn't know where to begin....
  10. I like the sound and it's very well played, but I like more melody... I'm not familiar with the piece, so I'll listen to it again later, but it sounds very repetitive. I wonder how you arrange the song, how you decide to add the layers and which ones, etc. It looks like you have experience in this stuff. Congratulations!
  11. That was great, Sergey!! I never tried using different tracks, but it works perfectly. Congratulations! I also like the video very much.
  12. Thanks, m10538! I agree with you that the accompaniment can enhance a song, and I can hear that when I listen to my own playlist; I can tell that some songs are enhanced and others are not, or they just offer a different interpretation. BTW, you know that a song can be interpreted in many ways, so one is not necessarily "better" than the other one, just a different take on the melody. All I remember from this song is that I had a barrel of fun arranging and playing it... I had a lot of fun. Cole Porter is pure genius, and arranging this song forced me to find chords that were unusual to my regular patterns.
  13. This was the first time I used the auto rhythm, and it was soooo easy and I really enjoyed it. Also a "happy" song...
  14. Thanks! I used the Calypso rhythm that the keyboard offered. I intended it to be some sort of calypso, island-type, whatever... But it's a happy song, right? I kind of like Besame Mucho accompaniment best, but it's all very subjective. I also like Begin the Beguine, the first time I used the rhythm, and it was my mom's favorite song (or she liked it a lot). I'll post it separately.
  15. Thanks!!! Nothing broke, I just had a stupid fall in Seattle and a hand bone dislocated. A couple of months later, all was fine. BUT, it gave me the motivation to explore the rhythm, and that was a real learning experience. "Dark and sultry"... I'm not surprised that she was never kissed... Awful days!!! It took me several years to undo the damage of the 50s... The 60s helped. Anyway, since it would be a different song, I'll post a "happy" one (w/ rhythm, unfortunately) from the archives...
  16. This was my second experiment with auto rhythm... My left hand in a cast motivated me to explore the auto rhythm. It really helped me a lot. Another "romantic" song... Hey, I am what I am... Besame Mucho.mp3
  17. You're absolutely right!!! I AM a romantic, though not a lucky one... Since I can remember... That's very flattering, m10538. I love these two songs... My siblings tell me that "La Vie en Rose" was playing on the radio as they were driving with my father to the hospital where I was born. Since then, that song was tagged on me, but I love it... I tried to interpret Blue Moon differently, because it is a nice melody.
  18. These are the first "covers" I recorded when I first got the awesome keyboard... Blue Moon.mp3 La Vie en Rose.mp3
  19. Thanks a lot!!! Yes, the Cuban stuff is like another corner of my brain, and I usually invoke it by playing minor chords, because they are so prevalent in that music. So back then I was trying to do different stuff. But it's not really a "song", and I couldn't find any auto rhythm that would do it justice. I think that the rhythm helped some songs and not others, as I listen to them in retrospect. Waldstein sonata? Are you crazy??? No, I don't aspire to being a "pianist" or to perform calisthenics on the keyboard... What really turns me on is to have enough "chops" (I think I have OK now) to express myself on the keyboard... If I'm concentrating on hitting the right keys, etc., as I rehearse a song, my "emotions" are kept in the background, but once I know the melody and got the tech part reasonably smooth, THEN I can concentrate on the phrasing, etc., which is really the fun part, at least for me. I'll see if I have another song that may please you (I hope), all piano solo before the rhythm.
  20. Things are kind of slow and I'm not currently working on anything, so this is an early "song" of mine (piece?). Many of these early songs I revisited later with the auto rhythm, but I couldn't do anything with this one, so I left it alone. It's simple, not fancy, and you got to love those space shots... 🙂
  21. AWESOME!!! The best Tiny Tune yet!!! I laughed so hard... 👍 😂 Very nicely done, m10538! I also thought that it was a great video, funny, and I love those strange designs at the end... Congratulations!
