  1. I own another synth - the Roland JD-Xi. The menu diving is just about as bad as the WK-7600. A software developer has created Patch Base which is a Mac/PC interface to the innards of the JD-Xi (as well as many other synths). He has a page where folks vote for a synth they'd like him to develop an interface for. Please considering adding your vote for the Casio WK-7600 here: https://coffeeshopped.com/patch-base/editor/casio/wk-7600 If you own another synth, check out his list of supported instruments here: https://coffeeshopped.com/patch-base Please Note - I am NOT affiliated with the developer and receive no commission or compensation for the promotion of his software. I just find it VERY handy (in lieu of menu diving) for my JD-Xi and would love to see this for the WK-7600.
  2. Update - For those that land upon this thread in a search. I was finally able to get Data Manager to work on my MBP set up by Control Clicking the Data Manager app. You can find detailed instructions here: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/open-a-mac-app-from-an-unidentified-developer-mh40616/mac
  3. So, my new MacBook Pro (running macOS 11.4) has security issues with the Casio Data Manager 6.1. I'd wanted to create audio files using the Record feature on my WK-7600 and now am stymied because there's no way to get those into my computer. Here is the error message I receive: “CASIO DataManager6” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information." Anyone else experience this? Any news of Casio updating Data Manager to be compliant with new versions of macOS? Besides using a different computer - anyone have ideas on how to retrieve/convert the Casio recordings off the SD card to a WAV format? Based on my reading in the manual and online, this seems to require Casio's Data manager. Thanks in advance for any insight/advice you can lend. Mark Roanoke, Virginia, USA
  4. Hi Luke - For me, I just plugged in a dynamic microphone and it worked (a Shure SM-57). I know that isn't much help, but you have to use a dynamic microphone - not a condenser microphone as those require phantom power which the WK-7600 does NOT provide. Also, there is a gain button on the back beside the mic jack. Make sure it isn't turned all the way down by mistake. Get the mic working first, then move on to the recording. The second column of page 12 of the manual describes using an external microphone. (A Shure SM-58 probably would be better suited for vocals than the SM-57, but I'm not an audio recording expert nor do I play one on TV. 🙂 Enjoy your new keyboard. ~ Mark
  5. Hi Martha, I'm a newbie, too. My understanding of the music preset is as follows. If this is inaccurate, perhaps a more seasoned member can chime in. Page 27 of the manual describes how to change the music preset to align with the currently selected rhythm (a one touch preset - which is a misnomer because you need to press two buttons). Beginning on page 54 of the manual, there is an entire section devoted to using Music Presets. Hope this helps! ~ Mark
  6. I've dug through the manual and would like a sanity check on a conclusion I've arrived at. Am I correct to assume that the WK-7600 Mixer Parameter settings (p. E-42) are configured for both inputs (microphone & instrument) together rather than separate parameters for the microphone and separate parameters for the instrument? Looking at the diagram on p. E-29, it appears the Mic In and Inst In signals are combined before any processing is done. (I realize one can control the volume of the microphone input with the Mic Volume knob on the back of the workstation). I'm simply curious if one input can have reverb/DSP and the other input not (or different levels of reverb/DSP). Thanks in advance! ~ Mark
