  1. wow, Mclandy ... thanks I will follow your lead on this one, and visit the web link.
  2. Mclandy and Brad, many, many thanks for your quick and detailed reply. As a matter of interest. Can you advise, are there any websites where I can download just vocal WAV files to play accompaniment on my CT-X3000, please?
  3. I have owned my Casio CT-X3000 for 4 years now, and am highly delighted with it. Having made great progress learning to sight read music notation. I read with great interest on https://music.casio.co.uk/ctx3000 that it is possible to play industry standard digital audio WAV files, straight from USB memory stick. Cancel the vocal part, and just play the melody live. How would I do this please?
  4. CT-X3000 I have recorded to track MltRec1 and can play back fine using the "song bank" selection. When I transfer the MltRec to a USB it is a .mrf file. How do I convert and save MltRec1 file to a .wav please?
  5. The Casio CT-X3000 is incredible. Just love it! Is there a way to load a vocal track (eg singer only) and play accompaniment, using my Casio? regards, Geoffrey
  6. thank you for your support Brad ... much appreciated!
  7. Casio CT-X3000 great keyboard - my best purchase made in 2020! If I have a Lower Layer using a grand piano, and an Upper Layer using strings ... how can i make the strings volume lower than the grand piano. By that I mean the volume and not the octave ... is this possible? Any help on this one, please?
  8. Alec, An old thread, I know, but I congratulate you on your choice of the Casio CT-X3000. The AiX sound quality has to be heard to be believed ... incredible. I went into the music store in 2020 to buy a Yamaha, but came out with the Casio ... no contest at all. Plus the features and synth sounds were way beyond its price range. Hope you have stuck with the sight reading. Everyone learns differently, don't they. I found the E-Z Play Today music books to be the ideal way to learn to play. With great titles, like songs from West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Beatles etc. Notation can be played with/without easy chord accompaniment, and is very easy to read and understand.
  9. I have recorded several files which I can play-back using the "Sound Bank". However, I cannot understand how to transfer these files to a USB. Can anyone help me here, please?
  10. Many thanks, again ... for your helpful advice, Brad! stay safe, regards, Geoffrey
  11. I have connected my Casio CT-X3000 to the Cakewalk DAW software on my laptop, using Windows 10. The MIDI connection setup is working fine. I choose a virtual instrument within the DAW software, and use my Casio keyboard to play the instrument. However, I have to turn the volume on the Casio keyboard to zero. Otherwise I hear the Casio keyboard instrument (whatever it is set on, through the Casio speakers); and also the virtual instrument I have chosen in the DAW software (through my laptop speaker). My question is: If I connect the audio out from my laptop to the audio in on my Casio, will it then only play the sound from the DAW software through the Casio speakers? I haven't bought the jack connections yet. But I ask this question beforehand because I don't want to damage my Casio. Geoffrey
  12. SOLVED IT!! goodness after all these weeks ... following Brad's advice to make sure I had my Casio set up as a Midi device: 1 - Make sure the Stereo Midi Channel is set to "All" in the Best Service Engine 2 new project settings window. 2 - Select the Music Keyboard Midi name in the Preferences In options. thanks very much Brad for putting me on the right track!!!!! All of a sudden, everything just fell into place perfectly.
  13. Many thanks for your reply, Brad. I have followed your guidance, and can confirm that my Windows 10 laptop sees my Casio as a Midi device! Any guidance on how I get the Best Service Engine 2 software to connect to it, please?
  14. Casio CT-X3000 keyboard best service Engine 2 software Windows 10 Hello everyone, I am hoping someone will find time to help me with this problem, please. I have spent weeks. Contacting bestservice.com, and Casio support. But I have had no luck solving the problem. the issue - step 1: I am trying to connect my Casio keyboard to use as a MIDI with www.bestservice.com free Engine 2 player. So when I play the keys on my keyboard it plays the instruments within Engine 2 player software. This software comes with free trial instrument libraries. So I have managed to get this software up and running on my laptop, using Windows 10. As you will see, all instruments are listed. Using the laptop mouse to select a key on the keyboard, all sounds play just fine. The sound coming from my laptop speaker. At this point, my Casio keyboard is not connected to my laptop. See screen shot at the end of this thread ... step 2: I then connect my Casio keyboard to my laptop - using USB slots "To Host" and "To Device". step 3: I then launch the best service Engine 2 software and select the menu File/Midi Preferences. This brings up the Midi preferences window At this point, I expected to see my Casio keyboard within the software preferences window. I see nothing. Consequently, I have no idea how to link my Casio keyboard to this software. I am hoping an experienced user will have this software and be able to offer me guidance if possible, please. I am at a complete loss ... kind regards, Geoffrey Step 1 screenshot - FREE ENGINE 2 PLAYER Step 3 screenshot - FREE ENGINE 2 PLAYER MENU - File/Midi Preferences Step 3 screenshot - FREE ENGINE 2 PLAYER MENU - File/Midi Preferences Window
