  1. First off, put the damper sustain settings very low, or lowest. String resonance on highest. You'll find how you select the touch sensitivity effects how clear the sound is. I found it sounds best a bit lighter, go heavier, tweak the brilliance setting for the sound. Find how to adjust brilliance for any sound selected. On my px-s1000 its + or - 3. There are also two sound mode types 1 and 2 The sound is very tweakable, I wrote on index cards taped on my wall over the keboard. Consulting the manual every time to adjust gets old fast! Just put a discovery on an index card and keep nearby. It helps. I found the 1st piano sound is best to tweak, but then I have not tried the 1100. I suspect they are much the same. Finally-- auto resume is your friend make sure you set it after you find the sound you are after. Otherwise enjoy the myth of Sisyphus. Finally finally- Casio made a mistake not giving at least TWO onboard saves. Headphone and speaker exerience are not apples to apples. I refuse to use the app, it was an oversight to have only 1 save. I am 100% on this.
  2. What is the rock bottom cheapest audio interface that will work
  3. Thanks, Seems like a feature I would play with until it sounded most natural. Even on the px-s1000 (mine), the sound can be tweaked considerably. I put a couple of index cards on my wall so I can quicky adust certain parameters with the keyboard. Do not like the app, or any keyboard which requires a tablet or cellphone, it's just me.
  4. What does this change really? (Piano Position) Reverb? I miss a simple way to adjust reverb.
  5. Yes, my thoughts exactly. With no way to control the sustain, it's like pouring on too much salt if too high. I also keep string resonance at high to get as much realism as possible.
  6. Does anyone care about these features might be a better question. I am constantly tweaking to get a sound I like, this indicates something in itself, try another keyboard.
  7. I think too much damper resonance is not so good, too much sustain with the pedal is a mess, and I wish I didn't half to pay $100 for an sp-34 pedal. I can't justify it. String resonance I'm at 3, but still experimenting. For reference I own the PX-S1000. I think I'll leave the damper resonance at 1 or 2, I imagine 2 is default. It is my impression that a high string resonance value is less noticeable than bumping up the damper resonance.
  8. Brad, meant to edit my post, I realized what you meant. I will definitely do that and let you know. Read it quickly as touch sensitivity.
  9. . Just playing and it happens by itself, no apparent reason. I've touched nothing on the panel. Will blow air into keybed tonight. I turn it off and all is fine
  10. True, then I could just use my printer cable.
  11. Is what I need to control my casio px-s settings and save choices. Correct? My phone uses usb-c. I don't like the interface really maybe the phone will help. Any recommended ones? I don't want my PC hooked up, it's bad enough to need the phone. Also only the app for changing resonance, brilliance etc. I don't need the music or songs. Thank you.
  12. Nobody else thinks this is a good idea? You spend time tweaking a piano tone, then poof, it may be gone and you have to rebuild. I mean having 4 or 5 is enough, the one I have now would be #1 for piano. It does not involve any of the hall simulators, but does include the surround. The hall simulators are a little over the top somehow to use on a regular basis. Glad to have them yes, and even they are tweakable..
  13. "I've tried a couple different sets (none over $300) and also a keyboard amp, and have not been happy with the muddled sound they have all produced especially in bass chords. If you want more volume, first try setting Keyboard Touch to -2 and you will be surprised how much more you get. I came to this EXACT same conclusion, the default setting is not ideal, you get a lighter touch, more clarity, and , no compromise in sensitivity with minus 2 (my preferred setting) The difference in sound is actually fairly dramatic, from slightly muffled to clear. The ability to tweak this is fantastic, like a new keyboard!
