  1. Hopefully someone has a remedy for my situation. I first record the Bass, Chords and Rhythm Beat to my medleys on Track 1. I'll then play that back so as to add the LEAD melody LIVE to create my 1-Man Band. The issue I am running into is that more often than not, depending on the Tone & Rhythm that I am using ... the volume of the Bass & Chords is overshadowing the volume of my LEAD melody. So the LEAD ends up really being second banana. If I raise the Main volume, that just raises the volume of everything. If I lower the Accompaniment Volume, I found out that really only lowers the volume of the Rhythm Beat, but NOT the volume of the Bass & Chords. Question: Is there a way that I can raise the volume of the LIVE LEAD melody while keeping the volume of the Bass, Chords & Rhythm Beat stationary so that my LEAD melody will achieve its first banana headliner status and not be overshadowed?
  2. WHEW! I'm worn out, but ... I THINK I finally figured it out. I first encountered yet more hits & misses and inconsistencies and my CT-X700 was beating me like this and had me But, after some more reading over and over, performing analysis and trial & error, I THINK it finally made sense. I cleared out locations 172 through 176. I then made it a point to keep every current song / medley always recorded at location 172 MltRec 1 ... and cleared it out before going to a new song / medley. And it WORKED! I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try out the Settings Setup Savings in the Registration Bank bit. Thanks for your help, Brad. I took the scenic route, but eventually, with your help I got with the program.
  3. Thanks again for the additional info, Brad. I'm about to go out and about to do this and that. When I come back, I'll put to use all your info. Hopefully the results will be just the ticket that I was looking for. I'll let you know later how things went.
  4. Ahhh, that "171-176" is definitely a monumental piece of info. I had no idea to what the instructions referred when they said to enter the song number. I was drawing a blank. I'd go into the song bank and start seeing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and what have you. I'd immediately surmise I was in the wrong section to delete MY songs. Follow Up Question #1: How do I ensure that I am on Track 1? I HAVE seen that on the display, but how do I select Track 1 if it should happen to NOT be there when I'm about to record? Follow Up Question #2: At this point I have only vaguely read about being able to save Settings Setups to Registration. These Settings Setups that are saved --- Are they saved to non-volatile memory? Will they remain intact and available even after the keyboard has been powered down and adapter power and battery power removed? That would sure be a lifesaver. Cuz having to re-enter all the settings after every power up BITES. Oh and THANKS for your reply and very valuable info, Brad.
  5. HELP! I just got my Casio CT-X700 this past week and I'm already ready to body slam it on the concrete and beat the living daylights out of it with a sledge hammer. Main Issue: Here is what I'm simply trying to do and what the results are. I am using PERC ORGAN 2 (070) Tone and TEX-MEX (096) Rhythm. I set all the rest of the settings the way I want them. I then record the Bass, Rhythm & Drum Beat to my various medleys. I'll then attempt to play that back so that I can add the Lead in real time. The results are inconsistent. Sometimes my 1-Man Band will work out great, just as designed. Other times inexplicably the Bass & Rhythm Chords will not have been recorded. Then it'll get worse. I'll get an Err Data Full error. The troubleshooting tips say that I'm trying to record more than 5 songs ... and that I should delete some. The question is --- HOW do I delete the previous songs? I don't like this old recordings accumulation bit. It used to be so easy and efficient on my previous Casio CTK-650 whereby each new recording replaced the previous recording. I've even tried setting the keyboard to Factory Defaults and that doesn't empty out the recordings accumulation. I've checked out the User's Manual, but from my take, they appear to only mention how to delete "songs" and "tracks" from the SONG BANK ... not the random songs that I'm recording. Maybe it's in there somewhere and it's escaping me.
  6. I just finished checking on my CTK-650 and realized that actually it IS "Tex-Mex" rhythm that I used to use there with rhythm #101. I thought it said "Tejano," but that is not the case. "Tejano" is just the newer genre name for "Tex-Mex" since around the 90s. So, bottom line ... it appears to be TOUCHDOWN!!!! Woo-Hoo! I am sooooo IN! The CT-X700 is what I'll definitely get then. I'll order me one today or tomorrow. They didn't have any in stock at Guitar Center. I'll see if I can find another place in town that has it. Otherwise it'll have to be off of the Casio website. Does anyone know whether the Casio website ships via USPS or via FedEx or UPS? It's that in my neighborhood there is no street address mail service as far as the USPS goes. Anyway ... major THANKS for that confirmation and additional info, Pigeon City Chicken.
  7. I'm looking for a replacement for my ancient and now kaput CTK-650. What made that keyboard perfect for me was that it had a Tejano rhythm. That is what I predominantly play and whatever keyboard I'm going to buy HAS to have that rhythm ... or Tex-Mex. Without one of those 2 rhythms it'll be like a boat out in the middle of the ocean without a motor. Can anyone confirm that the CT-X700 has a Tejano or Tex-Mex rhythm? I looked on the Internet, but couldn't find: How many notes is the CT-X700 capable of recording? Hopefully it is somewhere similar to the 10,000 or so that the Yamaha PSRE-373 that I tried out today has. Hopefully it is NOT similar to the 300 that the Yamaha PSRE-273 has. And to confirm: The Key Touch Response CAN be turned OFF, right? I never found out how to turn that off on the Yamaha PSRE-373 today.
