  1. Give the lady a gold star!! I now have something on channels 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 AND 16. Sounds like you know what, but at least I'm making progress. Farther along than last week. Important thing is I'm learning, if only by trial and error.
  2. Ok thoroughly read program change and bank number info. This is way above what I will be doing. Don't have to concern myself with midi or computer right now. Trying to keep this simple and will be using Live Tra K 12 for standalone recording. But at least I have some idea of the why's behind these numbers. I can see you are a wealth of information. May call upon your assistance in the future if needed in other areas. Thank you.
  3. Not sure if I am posting in right place but here goes. Made it thru 2 pages of notes and have something in channels 8 thru 12 so far. That was a challenge! Not exactly what he did but at least something to show I can do this. And yes the info posted on Tues (which I didn't realize until today) will help make sense for me. Thank you.
  4. Didn't know this was here. Thanks. After my long excruciating day on Monday decided to take a break. But was back at in a couple days watching Funnzies #7 on step sequencing. Took about 4 pages of notes on the second viewing. Got about 30 min in before he lost me. But am determined to walk thru it on P1 step by step. I am still amazed at what I have seen so far in these videos.
  5. Thank you for posting #11. Finally learned beauty of overdub. Think I've made it to #7 so far. I found him by accident last year when I discovered his videos on WK 7600. And his videos that I discovered on P1 led to seeking one out in January this year.
  6. More questions coming forth! After studying the Appendix can someone give me an explanation about program change and bank select? What do they mean and where do those numbers come from. What is their significance.
  7. I am new to synth and X W P1. Yes, these videos are great. I put my tablet on X W P1 and went step by step setting up what he was recreating for video. Only missed by one step, which wasn't too bad for FIRST attempt. If I can watch people it makes this task much easier.
  8. Guess I am in the minority gender grouping. Think I took survey other day and voted! Would like to join FB group but not sure how to get in. Exactly what is group name so I can check it out. Thanks
  9. Ok I was thinking about the numerical key reference in relation to number of octaves but I was wrong. Get it now.
  10. Alright now I understand. They are referencing an 88 key and since this is only 61 that would explain. And about the zones that is good news to be able to choose. Thank you for clarifying. Spent some time with using the user portion of phrase sequencer. Discovered once you record a phrase you can also change tone setting during playback and play in different tone even if you haven't saved. Also discovered tempo could be changed too. Was experimenting with custom arpeggio. Been making all these discoveries and know I haven't scratched surface yet.
  11. Are those zones going to always be in the same place occupying those specific key ranges?
  12. Looking at diagram for key range in manual they talk about C-1 to G-9. The diagram shows C-2 on left side of keyboard and C-7 on right side. And the breakouts for zones are shown. Are these in stone or can those areas also be changed. Maybe there is something I just don't understand. Can you enlighten?
  13. Another newbie question: Am I correct to make the assumption that just about ANYTHING can be edited on the XWP1 and saved as a user setting? After dissecting all the features on the surface it seems like anything or any mode can be edited. Correct me if I am wrong. Blew my mind when I figured out you could alter the step sequences by the push of buttons, not including the 8 patterns. Every session is revealing new things. 2nd question: Can someone explain about the zones with key range letter references? Trying to figure where they are getting numbers from.
  14. Followed your instructions and was able to download. I take it Re v 4 is the latest of volume 1. Thank you for assistance. Look forward to digesting it.
  15. Guess this is directed to Allen. How would I be able to get a hold of this companion manual for the x w p 1? Am very new to this synth and anything I can get my hands on is welcome. Thanks
  16. Just read a post where they referred to this "Companion." Can someone explain to me what this is and where to find it. Just acquired my first X W P 1 and need all the help I can get. Thanks
