  1. LOL. Good question. Katie is my daughter's name. I really don't know why I used her name here. I actually uploaded a px-5s program I named "Kate's Strings." It's actually my first attempt at building a website. My goal, I'm hoping more people hear my music and I'd really to take my music career to another level. Been playing in cover bands for more years than I care to count. Thank you, everybody.
  2. I use the PX-5S on every one of my gigs. Love it. This is my new site that I launched and I thought some of you keyboard players might like it. (Or not) Ohhhh, just check it out and let me know your thoughts and then I'll buy the first round. www.kevinkreismusic.com
  3. I've tried the uninterrupted sound technique using the above stated method. I find it only works on hex layers and not tones, unless I'm doing something wrong.
  4. Is it possible to turn on/off a midi channel with one of the PX-5S's controllers?
  5. Okay. Here is my take on the hammond sound. I sort of stole the setting of the percussion from jaspeter, but with a little bit of mods. Everything else is mine. Now, LISTEN TO ME. Do not listen to the sound quality or the playing of this demo, just try to understand I was trying to show off the different registrations I programmed trying to emulate the Hammond. I have to tell you, put a Vent or a Burn and actually you can achieve some pretty good results from the organ. I need to re-eq my organ patch because to bottom is too heavy (you'll hear it on the demo) but again, I was just trying to show my best attempt so far in gaining a workable organ sound for me. Critique is welcomed. https://soundcloud.com/sweebee/kates-organ
  6. Ohhhhh, nevermind. I have the eq all messed up.
  7. Simple recording of organ patch into usb stick. When playing back I get all kinds of cracks and pops. Any way to adjust the recording gain to get rid of the cracks and pops?
  8. Thanks, Bro. I'll give it a try.
  9. Working on an organ program, but damned if I can figure out a way to be able to control the rotory distortion amount without increasing volume. I need to be able to have zero distortion and able to crank it up to Jon Lord balls out while volume remains consistant. Anybody?
  10. Thanks Choppin. What I'm trying to accomplish is smooth sound transition (sorry for the Korg speak) within one stage setting. I've been able to accomplish this with Hex layers, but for some reason tones cutoff sound as soon as you switch off the zone. Maybe the next update?? Hint-hint, along with mono mode and better string samples and organ modeling.
  11. Thanks for the try, Dc2k. If you figure something out, please post it. Thanks again.
  12. Is there a way to have a controller turn a hex layer on while simultaneously turning off a melody tone, or just the opposite, turning a hex layer off while turning a melody tone on? I know you can do this using two controllers, but I want to use just one. I'm not talking about volume, but actually muting or turning off a tone. I know, I know, "Why in the hell would you want to do that?" I have my reasons. Thanks.
  13. There are four files to download. Are these melody tones or hextones? How do I load these four separate downloads to one stage setting? Sorry for the newbie question.
  14. Okay. This is probably as close as I'm going to get without really digging deeper. Here is another audio example of my latest attempt. I uploaded the file. It's called -- what else -- "Kates String". Enjoy. https://soundcloud.com/sweebee/kates-strings
  15. 501 downloads

This is a lush string sound for large orchestral type music. Enjoy.
  16. Hey Scott: I will upload my stage settings after I complete editing. My string program still sounds a little too analog to my ears. It needs to have more attack and string realism. I've only had the PX for a few weeks, still trying to get my head around the GUI. The editor really helped, but not ALL of the settings can be modified in the editor so I'm have a bit of a time trying to get the sound I'm looking for. It would be real nice if I could just insert Tones into Hexlayers, but sadly in Hexlayers you can only use the supplied samples. Oh well. Back to work.
  17. I know, I know, I should have put the strings and organ on one post. I'm still new at this, so sorry. Here is my attempt at PX organ. Still working on it. https://soundcloud.com/sweebee/px-organwav
  18. This is the best I've been able to achieve on the PX so for. It's called Take00 cause I don't know how to name the damn file YET. Still working on it. What ya-all think? https://soundcloud.com/sweebee/take00wav
  19. Hey Happy, I appreciate your help, but what I'm trying to do is sustain one sound, switch to a different sound and have the first sound continue until I let up on the sus pedal. Thanks.
  20. Okay. I understand the "Patch Hold" will only work for Tones, not Hex layers, but can someone tell my why if I play Stage Setting 2-5 Brass Stabs and hold sustain pedal down to switch to stage setting 2-1 PhaseyTea EP it cuts off sound? There are no Hex Layers in either of those two stage settings. Thanks.
  21. Thanks, Joe. I think if the PX had an extra pair of outputs a Vent would be a good option for organ, perhaps the next PX-6S? I don't want to sound like I'm complaining because I'm not, just trying to get the most out of this great board. THanks.
  22. Thank you all. What I'm trying to do is simplify things with only one board also. I may decide to look into a Musebox or something similar. I really like the idea of using my Ipad, but I hear stories of latency issues and hanging notes. My bandmates would not be too happy if that happened. I'm 95% happy with the PX-5S, don't get me wrong, but give me a workable organ and some killer strings on this board and I'll be a Casio fan forever.
  23. Can anyone recommend an Ipad app for live use? Specifically I want something with better Hammond and string sounds. Also it is very important to me I be able to run the Ipad outs to the PX-5S ins and have uninterrupted sound transitions. Smooth sound transition or patch hold, whatever it's called. I find the PX's pianos and synths great for what I need, but the Hammond and strings not so much. Thanks.
  24. Thank you Ebonivor. I think I may have figured it out. The editor is making life a little easier. I'm sure I'll have waaaay more questions in the coming weeks. Thanks again.
