Download the file Put in on a USB drive in a folder labeled MUSICDAT Put the USB Drive into the PX-S3000 Press and hold FUNCTION on the PX-S3000 Scroll Left < three times and you'll find the MEDIA menu, Press ENTER Scroll and select LOAD, Press ENTER Choose RECORD SONG and Press ENTER Select the File "PNO_2" and press ENTER Choose the song location you want (this will overwrite any existing user song), then press ENTER. It may ask you to REPLACE. From Song Mode on the PX-S3000 choose the location where you loaded the song and press PLAY. PNO_2.MRF

This example sounds exactly as it should. When played at such as soft velocity, these two tones do sound nearly identical. The difference between the two is what happens when you use A LOT more velocity. The primary 001 GrPnoConcert gets significantly brighter at the upper velocities while the 003 GrPno Mellow tone does not.

@Gr3yWolf When you listen to Youtube videos, specifically what kind of headphones are you using? I need the make and model. How are you connecting these headphones to your computer, directly or through an audio interface? Also to clarify, you never had two PX-S3000 side by side? You only are comparing what you're hearing online vs what you hear in person correct?

@Gr3yWolf My intent is not to be condescending, I'm sorry if it came across that way. Our sound design team spends YEARS developing the piano sounds and these presets simply do not change over the lifetime of the instrument. In my case, yes demos were recorded via the line output. I can't speak for other Youtube videos. But the line outputs through studio monitors will sound different than the sound through the built-in speakers or headphones. All speaker systems are different. How are you listening to Youtube demos vs the piano? You had PX-S3000 keyboards side by side?

Let me state this again. There is NO difference in sound in any PX-S3000. The difference in TONE is the difference that YOU are putting into the instrument by playing it. The PX-S3000 (and other Privia's) is one of the most dynamic instruments available. If it sounds dull, it most likely that you need to change the velocity setting to fit your playing style. You're not reaching the upper velocity limits. Connecting it to a computer and noting the velocity values when using different curves would verify this. The only other difference is HOW the instrument is being recorded - directly on the instrument on to USB .wav or through external equipment. If the factory presets haven't been modified by the user, there is no difference in sound.

I'm sorry you lost me at PitchSet 046. Do you have an audio example? The arpeggiator in the PX-5S may be able to help. It has "Control Tracks" that can be assigned to control a wide variety of things so it can do modulation in sync with your tempo. You can also have it smoothly move from one step to the next rather than jumping. The PX-5s also has pitch envelopes so I'm still not sure what you're trying to achieve.

You can create an LFO using the arpeggiator which does sync to tempo. What did you want to modulate?

There is no difference in sound in any PX-S3000. There are also no counterfeit or black market PX-S3000s out there. Running firmware changes like this are extremely common in every area of the electronics industry. Changes like this are usually to address a minor change in manufacturing, a specific region such as language or text. It is as simple as that. [/end conspiracy]

To record audio, you'd need an audio interface. It can be assigned to any of the parts you choose. So it can be assigned to the Upper 2 (layer) only.

It is not a bug. This is the way the tone is designed to function. The "V" tones (there are others in different categories) are primarily for the accompaniment system. They can also be used with computer software where you can accurately trigger the articulations.

Most likely the rubber key contacts would need to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced.

The piano should be serviced as soon as possible by a warranty service center.

What is the error message? On most Casio products (I'd assume this one too) the files have to into the folder called MUSICDAT.

Not a MT-500, it is a MT-205. The black one used for the piano (and guitar parts) is the PX-S3000.

No other software is needed. The piano has to be put into "USB DEVICE MODE" for the storage to show up on your computer. Explained from the manual:

The middle pedal is a sostenuto pedal. It sustains only those notes that are being held down when the pedal is depressed. Are you certain it is not working properly?

No drivers are needed to use a 5-pin MIDI device. The drivers in your case may be needed for your UM-ONE.

Simply put, there are 100 Stage Settings, which are completely user configurable. Making a change to one will overwrite it. All of the original Stage Settings are located here on the forum so there is no danger if you want to get one back.
