Can't wait to see as of why the PX-s7000 could be seen as px-5s replacement  as been stated 😈

No, it is not.  Who said that?? It is a new platform which includes a new action but it does not have many of the capabilities of a stage piano / MIDI controller of the PX-5S.  That being said some of our artists that use the PX-5S have played the new instruments are wanting into incorporate them into both their studio and live rigs.

Looks more like Casio dropped making a PX-5S successor. With the new tech and maybe a less plasticky build, for around 1200-1500 bucks, Casio could have a winner. Oh, and get rid of that awful display ...

The PX-S6000 would make a great platform for the PX-5S successor.  🤔

  3. Martin,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having but I'm not sure anyone here on the forum and properly diagnose the problem you're having. I would assume that the technician ruled out a power supply problem. If this hasn't be confirmed, replacing the power supply is the first thing I'd do.

Based on the design of the instrument, if it is getting proper power that leaves very few options besides replacing the main board. I'm not a technician myself but based on what I know, usually the process of replacing the whole board is more economical than diagnosing and replacing individual parts on those boards.

  4. The PX-5S is a digital, sample based synthesizer but it offers enormous flexibility. Perhaps thinking about Vangelis passing, I found myself going down a bit of rabbit hole last night.

DIGILOG is a set of analog style experiments for the PX-5S. Essentially the goal was to make is sound as alive as possible, by creating an enormous amount of randomization. These Stage Settings consist of two zones. Zone 1 = Oscillator 1 and Zone 2 = Oscillator 2. Each zone uses 6 splits, each with different sawtooth waveforms spread across the keyboard, so even when playing notes an octave apart, it is unlikely you'll hear the same sawtooth sample. Each sawtooth (layer) has its own slight pitch, envelope and filter randomization. This concept is duplicated on the second zone and with each of the parameters and samples slightly altered from the first zone. This means when the filter is adjusted or the envelope is rising, nothing is happening at exactly the same time or the same way.

Note: Reverb added using Valhalla VintageVerb

  5. There are no issues using a CT-S1 or any other Casiotone on a Mac with Monterey assuming you have the proper cable to connect it. Even tested with the latest Mac Studio.

  6. That's odd. I know a lot of people with that combination and they'd use PX-5S for piano and Kronos for many other sounds. The PX-5S piano tone is superb in mono is well compared to most instruments. The most common adjustment is EQ which by default is controlled by the knobs. You can also try some other piano tones that you can download here from the forum. There are so many options to choose from.

To do this, you make sure your Zone has the appropriate DSP already selected.  Then, edit the Slider CC as you normally would, but instead of choosing "Wah Depth", choose NRPN. Now change the MSB value to 035.  The LSB value determines which DSP parameter will be adjusted. In my case, "Wah Depth" corresponds to an LSB value of 004.  The LSB for "Phaser Manual" is 001 (with the Phaser DSP selected), or 003 for "Auto Pan Manual" (with Auto Pan DSP selected).  The MSB value stays at 035.

I suspect Casio was going to release the PX-5S with NRPNs as the only way to change controllers, but then decided that it would be more usable with the DSP parameters hard-coded into the CC menu (which is true!) But a mistake was made in programming the relative CC ranges. This is completely speculation, but at least the NRPNs work as intended!

I hope it works for you!

Huge thanks for finding this. I learned something new today.

had no problems with it until my M-Audio SP-2 Sustain Pedal suddenly stopped working.

When playing the piano standalone, the notes came off as if the pedal was continuously pressed. I discarded the problem as my pedal malfunctioning, so I took it to some repair shop. Haven't got it back yet.

The SP-2 does have a polarity switch. Are you sure it didn't get changed?

But then, when I tried playing the piano without the sustain pedal connected, I noticed the same problem.

Did you power off the piano and power it back on after disconnecting the pedal?

Did you try the Casio SP-3 footswitch that came with your CDP-S150?

I have the px-S300 but my program (adobe audition) doesnt find any keyboard, what should I do or download

    @Woto

I assume you meant a PX-S3000. The driver is built-in to the operating system of both Mac and Windows systems. To my knowledge Adobe Audition does not have any MIDI implementation. It is an audio editor, not a DAW.  What were you looking to do.
