  1. I'm pretty certain the DSP is set to Distortion with a speaker simulation. You could start there.
  2. Hey everyone, I'm going to put this here so all the information you need is one place. Should you receive a "No Media" error on your PX-5S, don't panic and don't worry, your PX-5S can be restored without erasing your Stage Settings or other files. What has happened? Well, we're not 100% certain. We've seen cases of this when the instrument has gone unused for a long period of time. In other cases there has been a power surge or static electricity. Casio has worked very hard to try and replicate this problem on units that have exhibited this behavior and have never been able replicate it. What to do: If you're PX-5S is displaying "No Media" on the display, simply download the latest firmware (linked below) and put it on the root directory of a USB drive. It will reload the operating system and you'll be back fully working in about 8 minutes. We have seen the some people have issues with some USB drives and it will say "No File". This is either a problem with your drive itself or the way your computer downloaded or unzipped the file. Try a different USB drive or re-download the unzipped version of the firmware below. As a precaution you can simply keep the firmware on the USB drive in your PX-5S at all times. The official download link is here: https://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=435 If you have trouble obtaining or unzipping this file you can download the Unzipped file from my personal dropbox folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dvuqut8if67n2mt/update.bin?dl=0
  3. There are significant changes to the speaker systems on both models and refinements to damper and sympathetic resonance systems on all piano tones. PX-S1100 also adds audio recording and playback to a USB drive.
  4. @TitanFeng Which area (product) of the Downloads section are you trying to access? Let me know and I will double check the permissions.
  5. Insert and then remove headphones from both headphone jacks. There is a physical switch that turns off the speakers when headphones are connected. Possible that something is stuck there.
  6. This is a main board issue, nothing that can be repaired yourself unfortunately.
  7. Was anything spilled in it by chance? Does the FUNCTION button still work?
  8. The Epic Guitar found here is one of my favorites: You could obviously remove the Way-wah from the effect chain and adjust the distortion to taste:
  9. Welcome to the forum Pte Master. Casio isn't attending Summer NAMM although that doesn't stop companies from announcing products at that time. That being said, we did just announce three new CT-S keyboards which bring CT-X quality (AiX sound source) as well as a new keyboard action.
  10. Hi everyone, Myself and the other admins are always working on ways to keep these forums running smoothly. In the past couple months we've had some spammers get through in a variety of new and annoying ways. We've installed a number of updates and enabled some new features to prevent this from happening. This does put some initial limitation on new members. Sorry but not sorry. This does not prevent new members from participating but does limit frequency of posts and private messages are temporarily disabled. As always we welcome your suggestions and feedback. Thanks for everyone's participation here at Casio Music Forums.
  11. This ^^^^ I don't believe that is possible. I'd be curious to know who told you that. Are you connected to a computer via USB?
  12. Many are the same, but the piano on the PX-S3000 is far superior. The CT-X5000 on the other hand has a better arranger.
  13. Supply for all musical instruments is a challenge due to events of the last year. The PX-560 is in limited supply in some parts of the world.
  14. If the issue is only in some octaves, I'm afraid that your PX-160 may need serviced. How long ago was your PX-160 purchased?
  15. We were honest and I answered the question above with the response I was given from our headquarters in Tokyo. There is NO difference in functionality or performance. It was an internal change due to changes in quality control and manufacturing. If Casio were to release a firmware the changed the functionality or fixed a software bug the firmware would publicly posted.
  16. Welcome to the forum. The CT-X5000 is a great choice. A wide variety of great tones and rhythms to get you started but you can also edit those sounds and make your own rhythms. Definitely an instrument that will take you far.
  17. PX-100 was manufactured in 2003. No you can't get parts for one nor could you get parts for nearly any other musical instrument that is that old that needs a main board replacement. You won't be able to get parts for a Yamaha P-60 which was manufactured at the same time either. Your poll to be fair should also include - options which states: Which component needs repair = NONE. I personally have a collection of Casio keyboards here some of which are 30-40 years old. Most are working perfectly. I'm sorry you're having issues with your PX-100. If you're interested in continuing to play it you'd have to either learn something about checking the PCB yourself or picking up another for spare parts. On a side note - I'm an avid photographer in my spare time. I was reading a thread about someone who bought a $4000 Canon camera and got sand and salt water on it and he was upset that Canon wouldn't repair it under warranty or outside of the warranty...under the same conditions no other camera brand would repair a camera in that case. You can't undo the damage that salt water can cause. My point is - you've started a thread about an instrument that was manufactured 18 years ago. The PCB could be failing for any number of environment or other reasons but manufacturers including Roland, Yamaha, Korg and others simply don't carry parts for products that are that old. Look at this forum, search on Google - do you have any idea how many PX-100 were made? Your problem is unfortunate and is rare. I'm sorry it has happened to you but it may be time to look towards a new instrument.
  18. I've always used a Windex type of product. Sprayed lightly on a towel first, don't spray anything directly on the product.
  19. Dominique, It is not currently possible. There is a third party solution being developed that looks promising. https://www.cme-pro.com/widi-uhost/
  20. @BohemianCan you tell me specifically who at Schmitt Music gave you that information?
  21. We never said we'd announce them all at once.
