  1. Hi everybody, Just a heads up that I posted a piano patch I've poured a lot of time into over the last week - follow the link below to give the stage setting a try. Check out the different fader/knob/wheel assignments as listed on the post below as well πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡ And - if you please - check out the video below for a little demo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7XHGmV59Eo

Hello everyone, Here is a patch I've been pouring some time into over the past week - the Flavell Grand Piano 🎹🎡🀠 This is technically the second iteration of this stage setting; the initial setting was crafted by Carenso Ivy. That said, I believe I've modified his work substantially enough to now call it my own πŸ˜„ The controls are standard: The four knobs adjust various EQ levels The first four sliders control the layers of T2 (leave them alone unless you really, really want to hear various types of key noise) Slider 5 controls delay Slider 6 controls reverb β€ΌοΈπŸ‘‰One large modification I've made is that the mod wheel controls the release of all layers. Turn the wheel all the way up for very short release I find that, if I want a bit more bite to the keys, I turn up the mod wheel about 1/4 of the way Tip: try pairing short release with minimal reverb for extremely short release (mod wheel up, slider 6 down) Turn the wheel all the way down to go back to normal That's all! Happy playing, and I hope that you find as much joy utilizing this stage setting as I have πŸ₯³ Thank you and have a great day! -Alex

  4. Hello everyone! It has been a pleasure delving into the PX-5S community throughout the last few weeks - what a fantastic group of folks willing to help each other out. Thanks for having me. I have a few patches to contribute, hopefully whoever is out there finds utility/enjoyment in them...the first of which is the Flavell Horns stage setting πŸ₯³πŸ€  As a performer and recording artist, I am attracted to stage settings with both timbral versatility and vast expressive capabilities - I have tried my best to create a horn section patch that does those things. There are three features of this stage setting that set it aside from other horn patches: real-time vibrato rate and depth adjustments, the ability to perform "pseudo-falls" and brass shakes, and three separate cutoff assignments for extremely shapeable, dynamic timbres. More instructions are in the post with the download file (attached below): slider assignments, knob assignments, etc. Please do check it out, and leave a comment below with your thoughts. Thank you very much!
  5. It worked! Just posted. Many thanks to both of you!

Hello everyone! It has been a pleasure delving into the PX-5S community throughout the last few weeks - what a fantastic group of folks willing to help each other out. Thanks for having me. On to what you are here for: the Flavell Horns stage setting πŸ₯³πŸ€  The patch consists of four tones, assigned and volume-controlled by slider: Slider 1: Choir Pad Slider 2: Saxophones Slider 3: Brass Slider 4: Piano There are three features of this stage setting that set it aside from other horn patches: real-time vibrato rate and depth adjustments, the ability to perform "pseudo-falls," and three separate cutoff assignments for extremely shapeable, dynamic timbres. 1. Vibrato rate vs. depth Slider 5 controls the rate of vibrato (fast vs. slow) while the mod wheel controls vibrato amplitude (deep vs. shallow). Slider 5 at around 090+ and mod wheel all the way up creates a brass shake. For a gentle warble effect, dial slider 5 to around 010-020 and raise the mod wheel about 1/2 of the way. 2. Falls, scoops The pitch bend wheel has been modified to perform comfortable falls (simply hold down a chord with one hand, and quickly bend the wheel all the way down - once all the way down, release the chord). Scoops and other pitch inflections are also very doable with the current pitch bend wheel settings. 3. Timbre alterations/secret sauce πŸ™‚ There are a couple more parameters that provide for a highly flexible stage setting, spanning from punchy horn sections to extremely mellow pads: Knob 1 controls frequency cutoff for Z1: Choir Pad Knob 2 controls frequency cutoff for Z2: Saxophones Knob 3 controls frequency cutoff for Z3: Brass Slider 6 controls global reverb Slider 1 is intentionally left at 0 volume when you load up the setting because of its reverb tail. I find that it's not as suitable for more aggressive timbres that can be crafted with this stage setting; it's meant for gentler, paddy textures that can be quickly created by turning down each of the first three knobs. Generally: Knobs set to low cutoff = mellow and pad-like Knobs set to high cutoff = bright and aggressive So there you have it! I hope you enjoy this stage setting Be sure to play around with the different sliders, knobs, and wheels before tossing it out too soon...and I would appreciate it if you left a comment down below of your thoughts. Thank you, and have a totally tubular day. -Alex Flavell
  7. Awesome, and thank you for the quick responses. I can't wait to share these PX-5S sounds with the community πŸ₯³
  8. Hi there Brad, Thank you for your comment, yes I've been attempting to upload under: Community Created Files=>PX-5S=> Strings Brass and Orchestral subfolder. For me, every one of the PX-5S community created files subcategories fails to work - in fact, selecting any one of the Community Created Files subcategories leads me to that error page. Elsewhere (Facebook PX-5S group), Mike Martin says he'll check in on this...I'm sure there is a solution to this out there.
  9. Hi there everyone, I just joined this forum community a few weeks ago after purchasing my PX-5S. It is awesome being here - lots of questions I've had have been answered! That said, I was hoping someone could help me out about this issue: I've been trying to post a new horn patch I designed to the PX-5S Downloads sub-forum, but I keep getting the error "Error code: 3D286/1" when trying to post any subcategory of file (from +create =>File Download=>any category). I'd love to post this setting and a really nice piano patch I've modified. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!
