  1. Could you post a video of the new unit? I would like to hear the difference in noise. Thanks!
  2. Off topic a bit. Do you mean Casio music space? Because I cannot find Casio Play anywhere on Android.
  3. I am trying to understand this discovery. Maybe a sound engineer could help me out here. When I connect headphones to the PX-S1100, the volume through the phone out is louder than line out (using a 6.35mm L/R mono to 3.5mm stereo). Now that is a given, because phone out goes through an amp. But when I connect my Edifier D12 speaker to the piano, the line out is actually louder than phone out. Not much but I measured; at 3/4 volume on the piano, the difference is 2db. On the speaker, I am using the line in. I also try the aux in (3.5mm) and the result is the same, so it is not the input connectors that are making the difference. Could it be that the speaker is able to detect pre-amped vs powered audio and adjust itself automatically? Shortly after I wrote the above passage, I hooked up an old Philip MC260 mini HiFi to the piano and I got the same result. The difference was around 2db too. This is something totally unexpected (to me).
  4. Energizer Ultimate Lithium is rated at 1.5V nominal, 1.75V max. Alkaline is 1.5V nominal, 1.6V max. NiMH is 1.2V nominal 1.42V max. Rechargeable Lithium Ion AA is 3.6V nominal, 4.2V max, reduced to 1.5V through a circuit built into the battery cell. Casiotone does not recharge the AA batteries. With Li-Ion AA, I guess you could select Alkaline. But because these Li-Ion AA will maintain the voltage throughout most of its discharge state, the battery power indication will not be accurate.
  5. Once, I accidentally changed the temperament on my PX-S1100. Maybe that was what happened.
  6. In the end I have bought the black version because of the backlit labels and buttons. In the dark the black model looks really good! The other 2 colour are not so nice as only the buttons are illuminated.
  7. After owning it for 4 days, I found myself preferring the 'Grand Piano Bright' 90% of the time. Does any acoustic piano sound like the bright piano? Or is it just a 'made up' sound? I have some hearing lost - I cannot hear frequency above 9KHz. Maybe that is the reason I find the 'Grand Piano Concert' muffled? And oh, I tried with a pair of Takstar HD2000 headphones and it sounded much clearer. So I infer that the speakers are the 'weak link'. If Casio would put a pair of tweeters on the PX-S series it would be wonderful.
  8. Yes, I have only 1 phone with the app and 1 PX-S1100. Every time I close the app or switch off the piano, and start the app or switch on the piano again I have to go into 'connection settings' and reconnect. It would be nice if the app can remember the last connection and automatically reconnects. *Sorry to have hijacked this thread, but I was thinking maybe this is somehow related to OP's problem.
  9. Anyone knows what are the defaults values? In Casio Music Space it just shows 'tone' which is not helpful at all.
  10. Trying out the Casio Music Space I find the BT connection procedure unusual. Whenever I start the app I have to reconnect the BT midi to my px-s1100 manually. With BT audio I just have to turn on my notebook and it will connect automatically. Shouldn't that be the case for BT midi too? Afterall I need an app, CMS or 3rd party, to utilise BT midi so why can't it just remember the connection?
  11. Thank you for your reply. I have never touched a 'real' piano before so I have no idea what it should be like.
  12. Hi, I am a newbie and I just bought a pre-owned px-s1100 to replace my ct-x700. Here are my humble observations. Please understand that these are coming from an inexperienced person. 1. The sound is much warmer. Initially I even thought of it as 'muffled'. Maybe because the speakers are facing away from me? Or are grand pianos supposed to sound that way? 2. The weighted keys are definitely heavier but strangely after an hour or so to get used to them, they are actually easier to play; especially the black keys. With the ct-x700 when I play the blacks nearer to the fall board it will either be too soft or will be too loud if I hit them harder to compensate. 3. The matt finishing on the keys is a blessing. This is a significant upgrade for me as my fingers are now less likely to slip off the blacks. 4. I was initially worried about the px-s keys but now realised that the ct-x700 has even less key travel near the fall board. Again this is an improvement for me. 5. The first time I tried to play a piece on the px-s I got disorientated with the keys! The extra 2 octaves worth of keys threw me off. Also it does not help that the 61-key starts with a C and the full 88-key starts with an A. That is all I can think of for the moment. I am just a casual learner, nothing too serious as this is not my main hobby.
  13. I notice the PX-S 1000/1100 black has back-lit wordings together with the touch buttons (2 lines). The red and white models however have stencilled wordings. Are those labels visible in a dark room? I am unable to check them out in person and I cannot find any photo or video on it. I would appreciate if someone could post a link to a close-up photo or video of the red model in a dark room.
  14. I am interested in the PX-S1100 Red and have a beginner's question. If I remove the batteries and AC power adapter and store the piano for a week, does the auto resume still recall my last setup?
