i wonder if we can downgrade on the PX5

HI Knuckels yes there are some strange issues after the firmware , i feel sound is very clean improvments have been made to the sound i feel the single waves are sounding better and cleaner together now, anyway it is tricky we can not downgrade to the old version ...how i read in other topics....i will reinstall again and se whats happen but of course i am always happy when it is done.... about your problem sound for me you have some tricky ram / rom chips inside .,....

well the problem with the button never happen bevore and also i never had problems with the waves curiosly also i found out that a lot of my patches in the tone editr section are changing to be panned on a left o right side ...so if i work on a patch and i select the next waveform inside a Zone this one is setup to +63 or else... strange because i did not setup this bevore inside the patch ,,,,anyway i will reinstall the Firmware and see whats happens

Try to go to your dealer and ask for a sissssiiiixxiiiissss and then spell it 2000 times until he understand....well. sexes also. Works but does not fit for a piano

Yesterday my tone button for the synt section didn,t work i had to push it 4 times to select also if i switch from one stage to another i have the effects sounding crashed into the next patch , today selwcting waves in the tone editor was wrong the.px was playing different waves from the one selected, i wonder if this is an firmware problem or if my hardware is going to have problems...,

No there is no compare Button i also asked a few times to add it in a software update but nope you have to be carefull to don´t touch a wrong button the biggest problem is the ENTER button sometimes i push the Stage 8 Button and al is gone ..so setup your PX5S with to empty stages and save your work often to it...to recall the last setting if you loose it... About the Volume Sliders they can be setup in defferent ways for each Stage Setting so the Sliders differs from Stage to Stage...

still waiting for the explanation of the changes in the 1.12 FIRMWARE.-.

61 Version goes for 649 Euro here in Germany of course the Drums are very deep and the Arpeggio and Sequencer seems to have more usable stuff then the PX5 i still can´t get in friendship with the Arpeggio and Phrases they looks like beeing made really fast....7 5 drum phrases with strong intro ,..no very nice bass patches no i don´t like the arpeggiator patches inside the PX5 ,,, also Guitars & Strings seems to be very nice on it ,,, #

so after we all played now a long time with the PX5 and also programmed some own sound what is your wishlist ? : for me: Writing the patches to the Stage Number where i am actually ,,,often i push the write button and my 0.0 Patch is overweriten.. Drum Library from Casio added to the PX5 as Phrases or Arpeggio.. replacement of the GM Guitars & Strings with bit more authenthic and warmer Waves... Stereo Spread Effect... and a new routing of the Moduation Sources in the Hex Layer ,,,,LFO can be triggered by Waves or Z1 -Z6 can be used to modulate each other ,...

Honestly the rating is for beeing informed if a patch sounds poor or not,,,why because everybody has different feeling of a good sound..so what now ,,,maybe just 2 lines telling it´s ok but maybe if you could blablabla this will help others to improve the soundpatch ,,, i know it is easy to download a patch and more easy to say "urghhhhhh" but it is always better to say..hey.....!!!!!!!!

<Hello i dont think so ...the PX5S has an EEPROM with 128MB of ROM and an Flash with also 128MB RAM , we dont know how casio handle this because in 128mb you can have normaly 2:1 compression so the real sample ram could be 256MB , of course Casio have a proprietary compress & decompressing technology and the DSP could maybe be fast enough to decompress in realtime a bigger ratio. Looking the Firmware Update it is around 107MB and it will fill 90% of the EEPROM when written. I don´t think Casio will ever give a statement because lot of people think the more ram we have the better sound is, this is not true if you use very high samples with a loosles compressione and a DSP with good ADC / DAC you can boost the PX5 nearly to every Soundquality.....also why should the update the PX5 with Multisamples if the PX is going to be a better Synth as the XW Series is, nobody will buy the XW... Maybe the tricky thing was adding a Hex Layer Section to it so we all feel like having a Synth and a StagePiano but the PX5S is sold like a Stage Piano and i addition a HexLayer Synth.... If you ask me what i think would be cool is providing to Sets of Firmware one with Piano and a big Synth Section inside the Samples and the other with Piano and a big Natural Instruments Section into the samples so everybody could make a choice.... The other possibility is adding ( if this is possible ) a Wavelooping or a Waveshaping like saying you have HEX Layer 1-6 and you can use multiple Waveform added togehter ..... the last possibility is tweakinng the PX5S to read Samples from the input yes they told us it is not possible but looking the Hardware Sheets the input goes directly into the ADC and from there inside the DSP i dont know the routing in there but maybe it is possible to have external Waves to be used like a trigger .... well this all will maybe never be happen so ...when the PX6S comes with Lid to open in front and on the upper side and the 2 A.I.R Chips will work on 20Gigabytes of Samples ..i buy it ( sorry for my poor English i am Italian )

So does this mean if we save all we also save the old settings for EQ / COMP / and so on ? was there a changing in the basic settings ? .. i also have reloaded my ZAL and the sound is ok,,,,curious why this is not recommended by MIKE

Of course they can there was added some Waveforms in the 1.10 update time ago….also there was some tweaking for the effects…so it is possible…after the first time i have installed the 1.11 Firmware some strange flashing lights came up on my PX5 so i had to reinstall it again ….maybe it is possible that it was not written perfectly ,,i don't know of course i understand sounds crazy ,..but the filters works better on my PX…maybe if MIKE will post the changes made in 1.12 Firmware i will know or not:)

Just we are talking about Mike can you tell us the real sample Size on 16 bit...wie know there is only room for 128mb of samples but how is the compressio ratio?

There was no changing of samples of course maybe my last update was broken but it sounds netter now...anyway hope they change the string samples and elec guitars

WOW ….maybe it´s just me but i feel all is sounding a bit better don't know why ..Bass goes deeper and i have the feeling it is also cleaner…. well i did not check the samples but i played with a Pink Noise and for the first time o could screw it down with the filters to nearly a clean tone ,,this was not possible before i my PX5S i played with it inside programming and i did a record ..it s crazy sound but it is very impressive how better it sounds ,,with nothing in it just pink noise ep attack 12 and voice…. maybe it is just an illusion but my PX5S sounds better now ! https://soundcloud.com/mau-van/test-px5s-firmware-1-12
