  1. I love that demo from CT 870 so much better than usual demos on the keyboard apart from the kung fu movie it reminds me of a soundtrack from old amiga / pc games from the 90s
  2. color is nice but apart from that, very limited and weak sound for the casio in ct 102 especially lack of vibrato and not many sounds
  3. @CYBERYOGI =CO=Windler i've seen chinese keyboard which was the exact copy of Casio CT 102 (grey colour), but don't remember the name.
  4. @pianokeyjoeyes, 870 and 877 are touch sensitive.
  5. @dgy18787 if you need a photos of CT 870 (there are no photos) i can make some for the use of your site. Also if you need, i have photos of many other keyboards models, as a hoarder i owned about 100+ models through out the years.
  6. @pianokeyjoeThe CTK 630 didn't have pitch bend wheel, but it had pitch bend on buttons (similar feature was in the CTK 750). I checked old photos of mine and seems that also the difference between CT 870 and CTK 630 are the 5 oriental presets, and 870 also don't have the touch response purple pads.
  7. Thank you @Revenant yeah i assumed it's from the same family as 530/630 because the design is clearly the same. @Chas i've got also CTK 1000 but this one is different in therms of layout and many sound. Of cours they share some sounds, like with many other Casios. Its funny how the preset sounds changed in Casios - some of them stayed for the long time, some of them were slightly changed or displaced with other ones. @pianokeyjoe but you're talking about CT 870? Because the CTK 630 didn't have pitch bend. I wonder if there was any difference in sound between Casio MT 870 and 877. Different color scheme for sure.
  8. Have you ever heard of this model? It was my first encounter, never seen it before and after, but i bought it because price was decent. Also the google gives not many records as the name is confused with the new model CTX 870 in. It seems like the same family as CTK 630, so the mid 90s. Wikipedia says it's 1995 year. But it sounds for me better than the CTK 630 which had - well i don't know, very bad and noisy DAC? It sounded thin, cold, worse than many earlier Casio Keyboards like CTK 750 (1994), CTK 1000 (1993). Fortunately for my ear CT 870 sounds quite nice and comparable to CTK 750. Highlights: - Joystick for pitch-bend and modulation - portamento button - built in 3 reverbs - oriental presets: Erhu, Zeng, Jiang Qin, Dizi, Sheng <aybe it was made for the Asian markets? Other Casios from the era seems much more popular. Of course it was higher, more pricey model, so it's normal its not as common as the cheaper ones. In therms of effects, its a step back from the CTK 750 which had not only reverbs but also delays, choruses, rotary etc. But you still can use split and layer at the same time, playing 4 voices at once (starting point of polyphony is 24). I think i will made some video of this on my youtube channel Keyboarder Hoarder
  9. I've recently bought broken CTK 750 for ~22$ including shipping, so now i plan to repair the second CTK 1000 and later sell it or keep it as spare one, propably because i have way too many keyboards, and i wan't others to explore this unique keyboard.
  10. I found one for sale in my country. Seller told that everything is working. price is $100 - what do you think?
  11. 30pounds for working Casiotone 601 or 602 it's great price.
  12. unfortunately there are no good demos of CPS 201 with direct sound. There is a demo of CPS 2000 and it sound definitely synthetic. So, does the CPS 2000 and CPS 201 piano sound the same?
  13. So what you think about this one from video. Does it sound the same?
  14. Did you watched the video? the sound of it it's for me sounds the same as samples as in CT 660 and rest of the series. The Piano sound in CT 6000 sounds way different, not realistic like this one. CASIO CPS 2000 is definitely consonant vowel, but CPS 201 had to be samples with that characteristic sound.
  15. I think it's true if youre talking about casio CPS 2000 check out the video, acoustic piano sounds at 1:45 sounds way to natural to be consonant vowel.
  16. Im wondering if the CTK 1000 was the first one with velocity keys and natural sounding presets? PCM/CD was great quality (especially great piano sound) and would work great with touch response. Before Casio had CPS series (for example CPS 201) with touch response keys. I think it may me these classic pcm/cd sound?
  17. On CTK 711 EX the scheme of DSP effects were: 10 (REVERB 1, 2, 3; CHORUS; TREMOLO; PHASE SHIFTER; OR- GAN SPEAKER; ENHANCER; FLANGER; EQ LOUDNESS t correspond to the effects 00-09 found in Casio CTK 750 from 1994 (CTK 711 EX is from 1998) - except the older one had more - 16 in total - DELAY 1, DELAY 2, ANALOG DELAY, TAP DELAY, CHORUS REVERB, TREMOLO REVERB.
  18. I find out that in some presets it change the shape of the wave, and in another presets it change one of the two PCM (?) component samples of the tones. I didn't yet found a pattern of this behaviour but it can be used similar to layer function. Especially when combined with pan. I agree that it's a shame there is no modulation/vibrato settings, but i found out it responds to mod wheel via midi. QY70 as far as i know (i've selled it some time ago) has the internal battery CR 2032 or similar.
  19. Yes! I of course read that posts by CYBERYOGI while looking for any info about CTK 1000. I've also had a VA-10 in the past (i've selled it to my friend) and find that the effects section has some similarities with CTK-1000. But VA-10 had more effects and there were even more crazy and more steps. VA-10 - is another strange, unique and mysterious Casio.
  20. Youre right, maybe i'ts reasonable to keep them both. The one with rusted keybed i've bought for less than 20$ including shipping. I bought the fully working one (and in beautiful shape, nearly mint) - for 50$ with stand included. It was just 10km from my home. Funny that both appeared in last two weeks. Before, i've looked for this keyboard for a couple of months, it fascinated me from the first time i saw it. Other Casio keyboards from early nineties like Casio CT 670 (and his siblings), CTK 550, or CT 700, are quite common in Poland, but CTK 1000 - very rare. It's mysterious and unique in many ways. I think it's rarity comes from the fact that it was quite expensive, propably top of the line in 1993? Uniqueness of this model is also strange because from the early 80-s until today so many Casios shared the same or nearly identical engine. And this one is so different from others!
  21. sadly PSR 36 don't respond to velocity via midi, i've checked it now
  22. I've checked and sadly no. Also through midi you can't get tone edit function. Only basic 220 sounds. Sad, because some Yamahas (for example PSR 47) from the same period (early 1990s) with the original non sensitive keybed respond to velocity via midi without any problems or config, which makes them more usable. Casio sounds from 220 tone bank with velocity and tone editor would be great. PMP / PRO series as far as i know only differ in design, but i'm not sure.
  23. yes but since my "good" CTK 1000 is in great condition i think i will sell the one with rusted keybed. Maybe someone will bring it to life.
  24. In my childhood i've got the Casio CT 470, later i've got CT 670 and finally got an Casio CT-X1 which is really great, but still lacks touch response. I know that the buttons for tone editor wasn't always green - sometimes violet or black. But were there any Casio from this series (220 bank, tone edit) with touch reponse? ps. Casio CT 700 and 770 and also CTK 1000 shares at least some of the patches from the series, some are slightly changed, but it's not the same.
  25. Thanks for all the help, i finally bought another CTK 1000, fully working in nice condition for a very decent price. Very lucky, because it's quite rare.
