It probably will work with an android emulator - why don't you try it out. I take your point about the Android app becoming obsolescent - but electronic music gear has been a victim of obsolescence in many ways for decades, so I don't think you can single Casio out for this.

According to the user manual - page 190 it states you can save a recorded performance as a rhythm recording - I've yet to try this out.
