  1. Oke fine so if other users have madetheir tones on their CTX 5000 I can import so must be from a 3000 or 5000 fine. I connected my CTX briefly to my MAC(garageband) just to check if the midi port works. The strange thing is that you cannot put the keyboard in midi function as the CTS 200. Is that right?
  2. What are the GM tones(MIDI??) different to the normal tones? and how do I import sounds and what format do they have to be and where are they stored in ?
  3. I bought a new one three weekes ago and the same low c key as your makes a noise too.
  4. Hi there . My CASIO CTX came already with firmware 1.09. 1.08 is old. But is cannot be downloaded from the Casio site.
  5. Nice to know. I just keep it and do not buy an X stand. Thanks a lot for all your help.Because one can read a lot over problems with any product because the most people do not write anything if there product has no problems. I first wanted to buy a Yamaha PSR E 473 but I got the Casio on Amazon with$ 60 discount.
  6. Thanks a lot mine is on a table. I have not bought a stand yet because it is difficult to choose the right one. Thanks for the info. Actually the key which makes the strange noise is the f key which is actually sitting exactly in the center of the keyboard. Check yours pressing the key on the right edge at the lower end of the key . Not hard just softly pressing it a few times If this is squeaking when you play the keyboard next time. How old is your keyboard and have the keys you use more often got noisier? I have seen the thread in the meantime. There was a picture of the inside many points where the grease has to be. On the picture by the way I did not see any springs . What do you think holds up the keys (the upwards pressure)just the switches?
  7. My CTX5000 is only 3 weeks old and after checking all the settings and now actually playing I noticed that 3 keys are making noises. The first key on the left side (C) sounds like it is shaving along something(not important never use it much) BUT The F keys of 2nd F from the left side and the 3rd F from the left side when hitting them a few times not centered but on the right side in direction of G. The sound is like a sort squeaking noice bit like a spring or some plastic bending . Because both keys are F keys could owners pls. check this on their own CTX 3000 or 5000 ? Is this normal due to design? I can still return the keyboard to Amazon if it is faulty.
  8. I started new topic over the keys
  9. Ok fine to know that there is a difference . Will check it out this weekend how it sounds with the dynamic changes in the tone velocity settings.
  10. Fine thanks you can have better more options than less. That's what I like about the CTX 5000 the Yamaha are easier because they have less options. The only thing I find strange that Casio does no implement this exact velocity control in the main velocity adjustment because light normal heavy is like 63 60 57 in the other menu. But that's how it is. Thanks a lot for the information. I will be enjoying the keyboard and think I will have further question in the future knowing that on this forum the expertise is available.
  11. Fine thanks a lot for all the help I found the velocity control for the voices and can know adjust them for my favourites tones. 0 is no velocity control and 63 is full velocity control. The strange thing is you can go the other way around to - 63 , No idea what this will do? But fine I am happy that I can change it.
  12. Thanks a lot I was looking in the manual I had already set the. main touch sensivity to 2(light) but I find it is not much of a difference to normal. I would like to know if someone has been fidling with the tones so that the touch velocity is very very soft as little difference between hard(quick) press of the keys and soft(slow) press because I noticed if you want to play and press the keys softer(slower) it will often respond with very low volume in some tones. My wife had a Technics KN 440 many years ago and it was much less difference between when pressing keys soft and hard.
  13. Thanks a lot for the information MClandy . I just bought the CASIO CTX- 5000 knowing that it is complexer than the Yamahas but you can better have more choices. One does not have to use all of them. Only is much scrolling through the menu but sound is great. The only thing I noticed that the touch response is not as good as Yamaha PSR 363. You need lots of pressure(speed) on Casio in some voices . But I understood that the Velocity can be change per voice . Have to find out how to do it . Anyone has experience with this.
  14. I have bought a CASIO CTX 5000 and in the menu you can choose between 6 chord modes. too many choices what is the best to learn use one? Which ones are used on Yamahas The CASIO CORD any good or fingerd 1 and fingered 2 (do not understand the difference between 1 an 2) fingerd on bass Fingerd assist Full range chord
