  1. I would prefer Casio sell me the PX-S7000 without the stand and let me use my $59 pedal... and sell it to me at $2000 or at most $2200 with the 3 grand piano sounds, which is not available on the PX-S6000 or below. But let's say I pay $500 on top of $2000 to buy it at $2500... can I use the PX-S7000 on my own piano stand?
  2. no probleymo... guess what, I saw on the Roland FP-90X manual... they also call it Local Control... which is something that I would never search before. But I guess it is a standard term to mean: do you want the internal sound to be given?
  3. does that mean 1. configure the Roland FP-90X MIDI out to select the Stage Grand or whatever sound I want on the CT-S1 -- so need to look at the MIDI implementation paper of the CT-S1? But does the Roland FP-90X have the function to do that? Probably a MIDI controller like the StudioLogic SL88 Grand is able to do that? 2. Can I send the Roland MIDI signal to any MIDI box -- is it called a MIDI host, and alter the MIDI signal on the MIDI box, for example, change instrument 1 to instrument 6? 3. Connect the Roland FP-90X to the Mac using a USB cable, and have the Mac connected to a Scarlett 4i4 using a USB cable, and now the Scarlett 4i4 has a MIDI in and out, and the MIDI out can go into a DOREMidi box and then get convert to USB to connect to the CT-S1. So along the way, the Mac can alter the MIDI signal This is pretty complicated...
  4. ah guess what, I think it is F# it is on the English manual page 55. But thanks for letting me know it exists. It is to turn on or off: whether the keyboard playing is sent to the internal sound generation. It is called "local control" in the manual. I searched for "mute" and didn't find it... I think many users will think of muting the sound without turning down the volume... so they would search for the word "mute" or "muting"... but they either have to know to search for "local control" or to look at what each key does with the Function key.
  5. I looked up MIDI host box and Amazon, and they pulled some devices that looked like audio interfaces, such as the Scarlett 4i4... but the problem with those are: it has USB, but it is powered by USB... so I suppose I can't connect that USB to the digital piano's USB and hope there is MIDI in and out -- what would power the 4i4? Presonus boxes seemed the same. The only one I found that has a USB connection and a separate power source is the Roland Rubix... it is just way more expensive than the DOREMidi
  6. I just checked Bluetooth 5.2 standard released on Dec 2019: > The standard has a lower minimum latency claim of 20-30 ms vs Bluetooth Classic audio of 100-200 ms I wonder if it is really just 0.1 or 0.2 seconds... it felt more like 0.3 seconds or even 0.5 seconds. But so 20 - 30ms seems more acceptable... wait till digital pianos all support Bluetooth 6.0 and 7.0 in the future, and then wireless can make it easier... think about no MIDI in and out port vs USB port... if everything can be wireless and close to real time.
  7. Thank you, cool. So the USB cannot allow data to go both ways at the same time? Is it true if it is just to send audio from the computer to the CT-S1, the USB can be used? but if you send audio from the Mac to the CT-S1, how do you mute the piano sound native on the CT-S1? If both sounds are played, it'd be cool too, but what if we just want the one from the computer? There doesn't seem to be a mute function to mute the native piano sound. If I turn the volume to 0, then the audio in won't have any sound.
  8. Can I use a Roland FP-90X to play a song, and use its MIDI out to send MIDI signal to the CT-S1? It appears if the CT-S1 has a MIDI in, then it'd work. But since CT-S1 doesn't, can't I use a device such as DOREMidi UMH-21, to convert CT-S1's USB port to MIDI in and out pots? If so, it seems I can use Roland's FP-90X, which is said to have one of the best keyboard action in portable pianos, and give the sound of CT-S1, and perhaps even Yamaha DGX670's CFX sound, and Kawai ES120's SK-EX sound.
  9. Is that possible? The CT-S1 can send MIDI (my piano playing) to the Mac, which should be a few bytes or minimal per seconds, and the Mac takes this data and play it using the Pianoteq VST, and now sends the sound back to the CT-S1 using either the USB Midi cable or the Bluetooth adapter. That would be perfect. Otherwise, since the Mac's speaker is not so strong, I will have to wear a headphone or use an external monitor speaker like the HS5 and connect it to the Mac. It seems that it may work, just that I can't find a way to mute the sound of the CT-S1 native sound. Another issue is that Pianoteq or Mac's sound output can either be Mac's speaker or WU-BT10 (the Bluetooth adapter), and there is no "USB" output back to CT-S1. If Bluetooth is used, then there is like a 0.5 seconds delay when the sound is heard on CT-S1, so it doesn't work.
  10. Ah guess what, I looked at one YouTube video... that store was using the Chordana app, and then was able to pull 60 demo songs there and play them out too... so 60 songs, but may need the app... I hope Casio's manual is more clear about that, coz otherwise it misled people!!
  11. I couldn't find the song list on the official Casio website, and bhphoto says: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/compare/Casio_PX-S1100WE_vs_Casio_PX-S3100_vs_Casio_PX-S3000/BHitems/1656363-REG_1687488-REG_1456387-REG 6 songs for PS-X3100, and 60 for PS-X1100 https://higherhz.com/casio-px-s1100-review/ The PX-S1100 has 60 onboard Library songs; the PX-S3100 has none. Both have space for 10 user songs. So PS-X3100 really has 0 or 6 demo songs? I guess they were running out of memory when trying to push 700 sounds into it..
  12. I mean, it is not to use CT-S1 as an external speaker and play back the WAV... it is to use CT-S1 and render the instrument sound using the instrument sound inside of CT-S1
  13. Suppose I have some MIDI files, can I let the CT-S1 play them back? (using its good piano sound)
