  1. Hi Jokeyman, It's true, I only just joined this forum as a recent owner, so I must admit I jumped to a conclusion there 😄 All that stuff you say makes sense. Better yet would be if it could be done in firmware, I could use one of those keys I can't get my kid to use like the metronome. 🤪 And noted about the warranty obviously though this one is second hand (though in fine nick) so not sure if the warranty would be any good anyway. Well, thought I'd check in here to see if there was any inspiration. One day if I've got too much time on my hands I may pry the box open and see what can be seen. Cheers Craig
  2. Hi, I've had a CT-X700 for my son (and his little brother) for a number of months and it's great. However one real niggle I have is about the use of headphones. Having to plug and unplug the headphones in order to use them is annoying (particularly as our keyboard is set back against a wall) and results in them not being used and also damage to the headphones. So ideally I'd like to leave the headphones plugged in and have a switch on the keyboard somewhere to activate or deactivate them. I know that ultimately this is probably just a feature that you need another model of keyboard for, but anyway, two questions - - Does the CT-X700 have any ability to do this? I can't see anything in the manual, or on the markings on the unit, or via searching. - Any thoughts on adding a switch? Is this a thing that's been done? I suppose this isn't a "modding" sort of forum but (not having opened the case as yet) it sounds like it might be plausible. And if you don't ask you won't know I guess. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be the option to put a switch inline in the audio cord as inserting any jack into the headphone socket will mute the speakers, even if it's just for example an adapter jack. So probably it would be a matter of looking at whatever is detecting the presence of the plugged in jack and replacing that with a switch mounted somewhere convenient. Anyway, great keyboard! Cheers Craig
