This lead synth is from Gary Neumans song - "Cars" It is still a bit of a work in progress. If you crank the modulation wheel all the way, the sound goes all wonky. You can take it up about 1/4 of a turn to get it a bit fuller. Let me know what you think, and I'm open to suggestions on how to improve it. Or give it a go yourself with your and repost that sound. Also on the P-1 you need to play the opening sound on the highest "A' key, as A > G > D > B > G
  2. File Name: "Cars" Synth File Submitter: SmoovJazzy55 File Submitted: 06 Feb 2014 File Category: XW-Synths This Hex Layer lead synth is from Gary Neumans song - "Cars" It is still a bit of a work in progress, but the foundation of the sound is there. I used the settings from Native Instruments soft synth "Massive", so trying to translate their settings to those of the P1 didn't always nicely fit. If you crank the modulation wheel all the way, the sound goes all wonky. You can take it up about 1/4 of a turn to get it a bit fuller. Let me know what you think, and I'm open to suggestions on how to improve it. Or give it a go yourself please upload your sound. Also on the P-1 you need to play the opening sound on the highest "A' key, as A > G > D > B > G Click here to download this file
  3. Oops, wrong place, Mods please delete.
  4. I'm glad we are able to get them in the US. For the original poster, can you give eBay UK a try?
  5. I hear you, when I ordered my Maschine Studio I had the option of white and I went with the black for the very same reason.
  6. But the Honer has that cool "Apple White" look.
  7. My coffin is going to be quite full with my G1 and P1 with me.
  8. Whew, I thought I was alone on this site as being the old guy. I'm 58 too. You won't be disappointed with the G-1. I ordered it first, but once I started reading about the P-1 and watched a slew of videos, I ordered one of them too and I love having them stacked on my Ultimate Support stand.
  9. Were these at NAMM 2014? If so why didn't we see them or hear mention of them?
  10. At that price, I wonder how long those motorized sliders will last? Our church has an expensive Yamaha mixer (in the $8,000.00 range) with motorized sliders and thus far we had two of them go out.
  11. Korg has been kicking Booty when it comes to new releases, Roland Ok, and YamaWHO? Tyros 5 and what else?
  12. True, but for those that will put out $400.00 more (street price for the new Roland) they will do it just for the name. Personally, I prefer the look and feel of the XW's. If they added a larger color screen, and maybe a SSD, me thinks it would do even better.
  13. Did Roland also release the FA-06 and FA-08, a 61 key and 88 key workstation/arranger/synth that sort of competes with the XW's ? (But the Roland cost much more) The color screen is killer though.
  14. It is just way more keyboard than I want. It is geared more for a one man band performer of which I am not. The sounds are very, and I mean very good. What it lacks is a sampler, and some finger drumming pads, but I don't think it was designed to use it that way. The other thing is it has some built in ROM sequences that are, shall we say old folks styles. Yes, the screen is very large, gives a ton of information, but get ready to spend quite a bit of time learning all of the ins and outs of this workstation. I'm more of a sound tweaker and that is what I love about my P1 and G1, the Yamaha T5 lacks a bit in this area too.
  15. If you don't like your Casio, PM me I have a $5000.00 Yamaha Tyros 5 with matching speakers/sub-woofer and stand that I'm selling. Oh, and it has a killer color screen.
  16. happyrat1, although I agree, I just get in there and start putzing around, trying this and try that, but I've been an old knob tweaker for many years.
  17. Another vote for a color screen that is larger, and some pads to do some finger drumming. If they make it, I will buy it.
