  1. SOLVED: I'm replying to my own post to save a future me the trouble. MSB and LSB in the CT-S500 user guide correspond to the Finale patch settings for Bank Select 0 and Bank Select 32 as expected, but you have to add 1 to the program change, i.e.: program change in Finale is 25 for the Vst Nylon Gt, not the 24 it shows in the user guide. Edit: Unless you want the GM MIDI sounds, in which case you have to add one to both the MSB and LSB, i.e.: in the user guide, MSB and LSB are both given as 0, but in Finale, the Bank Selects both need to be 1. And you still add 1 to the program select. So GM Nylon Gt is 1, 1, 25. It's a bit convoluted but it's pretty easy once you figure it out.
  2. In Finale (a music notation and playback PC program), it's possible to have it play the score by sending the MIDI signals directly to the keyboard, and then the keyboard is playing the score using its own sounds. It is definitely possible to have it play Casio tones, not just general midi tones, and this becomes really cool when playing with the versatile tones. But I can't get it to work! Does anyone know how to translate the 3 columns in the CT-S500 user guide under Tone List: "Bank Select MSB" , "Bank Select LSB" and "Program Change" into the Patch Select window in Finale, which has the options: "Bank Select 0", "Bank Select 32", and "Program Change"? I have already tried the obvious, for example for this tone which is the versatile nylon guitar, I have done this in the Finale Patch Selector menu. But that plays tone 660: GM Bandoneon (which is almost like the thing is laughing at me 😅😖) I'm pulling my hair out over this one - any help would be so appreciated!!
