Cool! I'm glad you like it....and PLEASE TWEAK it however you want!!! :-)
  2. Yes, Dave...I,too, would be very interested in good brass/sax stage settings that really sizzle! I'm working on my own right now, but it's not quite right... And any improvements to (Hammond) 6/9 bar organ stage settings would be very warmly recieved, I'm sure... Thanks, DARIN MCNABB Bad Axe, MI

This stage setting is for an electric/acoustic piano sound, that was inspired by a Yamaha keyboard sound I heard today on Youtube. I took the liberty to make it my own (Casio sound) with the various edits I made... and I hope you do the same! (I encourage you to play with different piano sounds in Zone 2 to make it YOUR own). Today was another snowday for me (teacher) because of the frigid temps here in Michigan... so I played around all day on my px-5s and created this ss. I hope you enjoy it! You may listen to this ss at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/snoday-sp-epwav
  4. B.J.Love, please expand about the space station v3...I read the Sweetwater reviews, and it seems too good to be true... is it really that much better than everything else????
  5. Bootsy...Welcome to the forum! The sequence you need to follow is: Edit > stage setting > common edit > pedal 1 (or 2) > pedal target > CC64 Hold > min/max value...000/127. Be sure to change the pedal to "momentary" instead of "toggle" , & you should be good to go!!!
  6. I am just curious about what speaker/monitor/amp setup everybody uses for live performance situations with their px-5s...(not interested in your other keyboards...just how you get your px sound out to the crowd) Currently, I am using a Motion Sound amp that I really don't care for and may sell...thinking about running stereo sound if I can figure out what to buy...suggestions are very welcomed!

This is BY FAR the most complex stage setting I have created to date..., and I have to say I am most proud of this one! (It's dedicated to Brad Saucier for everything he has taught me on the forum!) This is my ss for The Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want". The far right of the keyboard is the choir zone and is controlled by PEDAL 2 ("on/off" toggle). The far left is the French Horn sound, controlled by SLIDER 1 ("on/off" toggle). The next quarter of the board (left-center) is the piano sound, controlled by SLIDER 3 ("on/off" toggle)., Finally, the third quarter up the board is an excellent organ sound, controlled by SLIDER 6 ("on/off" toggle)., It will take you a little time to get it all straight, and the playing space is TIGHT (but sufficient for someone with only one keyboard)...but I think it's a pretty cool setup nonetheless. TO START: I would begin with the choir toggled "on" ...then shut it off til the end of the song... Also, I would start with slider 1 up ("on" position) for the horn, then pull it down before you pull the up piano (slider 3) and organ (slider 6) because the sounds overlap if you are not careful....but don't worry,...there's lots of time to adjust during the guitar part of the first verse. I believe you will grow to love this setting for the Stones' greatest song (IMO). Enjoy!!! Check out the sound demo at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/you-cant-always-get-what-you-wantwav

This is a stage setting for Billy Idol's "Mony Mony". It is a delicate balance between a hex layer synth sound, a brass tone, and an organ tone (for depth). Hope you like it! You can preview this sound at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/mony-monywav
  10. Hey....can't wait too hear your stuff!!

Someone on the forum asked for this after viewing my stage setting for Van Halen's "Jump" This is the best I could do with the very limited skills I have... I created a Hex Layer (VHalen 5150) that I put in position 182. Hope you like it! You can hear a sample at; https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/luv-walks-inwav

Can't wait for this stage setting!!!!
  14. The following explanation is how to record a sample of your own stage setting, post it to Soundcloud, and link it with the SS ("stage setting") you are uploading to the forum... using a thumbdrive.... First of all, create a free soundcloud account at their site and log in. Next, pull up your ss intended for uploading and insert your formatted thumb drive into your px-5s. All the way the right of the keyboard, press the "audio recorder/media" button once quickly. The screen will blink w/ the message "mounting media" for about ten seconds...then it will read "No File" Quickly press the same button again once, and you will notice the "Record" button (over E2) is blinking...you are ready to record... and all you have do is play to start the recording process and push the "Record" button once to stop it. After the first take it will read "TAKE 00", & that will increase by one every time you record another time. (Eg - "TAKE 01", "TAKE 02"...) At this point, if you hit the "START/ STOP" button, you can review your recording immediately. If you like it, just remove the thumb drive from the keyboard and insert it into your computer; the recording has automatically been saved to the thumb drive as "TAKE00". If, however, you hit "ENTER" before you remove the thumbdrive, you will be one click away from deleting that recording...yikes! Now you are almost ready to upload the recording ... I have my musicdat folder on this same thumbdrive... And I have the data editor downloaded on my pc laptop...so here, I go into the editor, and in the left column (under "PC User Data"), I find my stage setting, grab it, and drop it into my musicdat folder. Now, I return to the Soundcloud site, and I push the "Upload" button at the top right center of the screen in the black bar. On the next screen, I push the orange "Choose file to upload" button. I then select and retrieve my recording from the Musicdat folder (under "removable disk" of course). Immediately, it will start uploading. As this occurs, type in a tag (whatever that is!)... I always use "px-5s " & a number...notice under the orange response box it will ask "Add (the tag you give it)" ; well, click that, & it will accept your tag. I then type a very brief description of the recording...something like "px5s stage setting for (yada, yada)" AND THEN, I press the orange "Save" button on the bottom. As it finishes the upload, the next page will appear. Click on "Go to your track" (in blue). Then copy the URL thingy at the top for pasting in the forum in a few minutes. Close the Soundcloud site and log into the forum! Next, go to "Downloads", find the category (on the far left you want to add to), & click on it. Over on the far right, click the black "Upload File" button. On the next screen, click the black "Click to Upload Files" button on the far left and find your wav file in the musicdat folder. Select it. Now, fill in the fields on the page ("File Name" & "Description" is enough I think) In the description, be sure to paste the URL to your soundcloud recording. AND FINALLY, push the black "Add Submission" button at the bottom of the page...And you're done!!!!! I hope this helps!

This is a stage setting for Bryan Adams' "Heaven". The piano sound is throughout the entire keyboard. I assigned a one note looping string phrase (sounding at C6) to pedal 2 controlling the "on/off" function...You must activate the note a split second before you play the keyboard.- (I'm not sure if it matters, but I placed my phrase in position 103. This phrase is used for the intro and then again immediately after the first time through the chorus). I also added a string sound on slider 2 for the chorus and second verse of the song. I hope you find this stage setting very convincing and usable with your band or alone. Enjoy! You can hear this stage setting at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/heavenwav

This is a complex song-ready stage setting is for Chicago's "Hard Habit To Break". The classic electric piano sound is up through the first four octaves of the keyboard. A French horn sound is embedded into the fourth octave, and a flute zone makes up the top fourth of the board. One could just play the bottom half for the song or use the rest of the board as you feel confident enough to play. I hope you like it! You can hear the electric piano portion at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/hard-habitwav-1

Whether you LOVE or HATE this song.... This is my version of a stage setting for Van Halen's "Jump" (To me, the factory SS "7-7 Polysynth" just didn't cut it...) You can preview this stage setting at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/jumpwav

This is a stage setting for Journey's "Don't Stop Beleivin'" From A1 to E3, I created a zone to play the left-hand bass line in the song. By shifting the keyboard one octave higher at F3, I cut the keyboard down for you to play the right hand much closer to the left hand, and I shortened the spread of the keyboard for the third zone beginning at C5, reserved for the brassy keyboard sound for the second half of the song. I hope you find this SS usable and enjoyable! Preview this stage setting at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/dont-stop-believinwav

This setting is for the keyboard part in Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days". I created this as closely to the keyboard sound in "Glory Days" as I could. Please feel free to tweak it as you deem necessary. It should get you in the ballpark. Preview this stage setting at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/glory-dayswav

This stage setting for Jimmy Buffett's "Margaritaville" grew out of another SS called "Volcano"... From A1 to C6, I created a zone for the digital electric piano. Above that point is a zone for the steel drum/bell - ocarina sound for the intro and the end of each chorus. This setting was a big hit with the guys in my band and every crowd (of Parrotheads) we've played for! Have fun and enjoy! This is a stage setting for Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight". It combines a nice electric piano/bell sound with some organ tones to give a pleasant sounding stage setting for someone having to cover the keyboard and string parts all at once, on one great keyboard (the px-5s!). It works for my band and me... Maybe some of you can use it as well. Enjoy! Preview this stage setting at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/wonderful-tonightwav

This is a 3 zone stage setting for Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline". From A1 to E4, I created a zone for the brass sound at the beginning of the song and near the end. I used the GM tuba sound here because of its fullness of sound. Feel free to change it to GM Trombone if it suits your needs more. From C5 to E6, I created a zone for strings for the section before the chorus. From F6 on up is the brass/trumpet zone for the "Bahm, Bahm, Bahm" part...Know what i mean? LOL I hope you enjoy this stage setting! Here a sample at: https://soundcloud.com/mcnab1dl/sweet-carolinewav
