  1. Hi to every one who,s replied, i am sorry iv'e taken so long to reply, many thanks to you all i will try and format my USB drive on my computer as told by member Choppin, i'm using an apple MacBook Air shouldn't be any problems with that should there? The PX-5s is fine and i'm very happy with it, it's this damn firmware update is now getting on my nerves. Thanks again for taking the time to help. Gary.
  2. Thanks again for your reply can i update the firmware via the data editor? can the update be somehow transferred from the USB drive onto the data editor and then onto PX-5S via the rear USB port? Tried to put the new sounds in today and again display just said mounting media, can i put the sounds onto the data editor then onto PX-5S that way? It might be better if i just go out and buy another new USB drive and try that.
  3. Hello OneWatt now to answer your question my USB drive is only being used for firmware update and sounds update i.e extreme synth sounds. The firmware i downloaded from world casio.com, the firmware version i am using is 1.11.
  4. Hi joe can i answer your question first? I put the update in the top root level of my USB drive.
  5. Hi to OneWatt i have just read your reply, i erased my USB drive last night ,and have managed to re-format the said drive, so i've got the MUSICDAT folder showing but i still can't update the firmware it will not do it automatically. When i go to sys setting scroll down to update firmware and press enter i get mounting media on the display, so i left it for 40 minutes and it was still mounting media so i really don't know what to do now, is this firmware update really essential? if not i'll leave it. I have downloaded extreme synth so i'll try and load that. thanks for all your help. Gaz.
  6. Hi Joe sorry i haven't replied sooner i have tried to reformat my USB drive in the PX-5S but not even getting the option to scroll down to format, all i'm getting is error no media, i think i will just buy another USB drive and try that thanks for all your help have a good new year. gaz.
  7. Hi Joe thanks for the reply. I do use a Mac, i did format usb drive on the PX-5S first and got MUSICDAT file but then wiped the usb drive so now when i put it in the PX-5S all i keep getting is error no media file, so do i need to reformat again or have i somehow buggered the usb, because the display doesn't say mounting like it did before. Can you update the firmware by using a usb cable straight from the computer into the PX-5S? thank again Gaz.
