  1. I have discovered yesterday a new issue with my PX-360. I turned on my Privia and started playing using the grand piano voice. I noticed right away that the pitch of each individual note is floating. That's a bummer. Three years old and out of tune. I thought that should never happen with DP. Obviously, I was wrong. I tried to swing a pitch wheel (I actually never use it). It did not help. The problem disappeared after 10-15 minutes. I am sure this problem will be coming back until it will turn into a permanent issue. I had PSR for over 12 years (sold it 5 years ago). It worked fine all the time. The similar problem I had on a toy keyboard 25 years old, which went out of tune completely. Quality of parts is a subject which did not appear to me as important until now.
  2. Seems like the link from reverb is not working as expected, replaced with the youtube reference.
  3. From the table above, it looks like Casio just changes the vendor ID and uses the generic driver. This is common practice.
  4. $800 vs $1200. 40% difference. I understand that normally you get a discount. For Casio it can go up to 20%. But pretty much the same discount applies to Yamaha. (in my experience I always get 15-20% when buying a brand new instrument - and that happened 6 times.) There is only one Yamaha app (I am aware of) which actually requires a certain type of device to enable additional features (I am talking about MX series) The rest of apps can be used with any devices (It is very likely that I miss something)
  5. With UN ONE you will get MIDI USB communication with any device through MIDI DIN. with adapters like UN ONE you do not get USB -AUDIO functionality.
  6. I am not sure when and how we switched from a subject "controlling by external controller" to "recording" If you are replying on my post - thank you for the reply! I do not have problems with recording or any type of control of one device by another
  7. What does it mean? MIDI(5pin) on one side of a cable and USB-A on the other?
  8. Both DGX and P125 are far below the price point of PX560. (I am sorry but how can you compare PX and DGX) DGX is a toy in terms of sound and keyboard action vs PX ( subjective opinion :) . I could understand if you compare it to Roland HP-60. Which does not have DIN MIDI (but this more is an exception from the common practice than a trend) There is a good reason why HP does not have MIDI-DIN. It introduces pretty unique built-in features such as blue-tooth MIDI, blue-tooth audio, blue-tooth turning pages with a pedal, and blue-tooth communication with apps. In the same price range, other Roland devices have MIDI-DIN interface. Some of them even have two MIDI outs The bottom line, I do not think that there is any trend for getting rid of the MIDI DIN interface.
  9. check the page 79 https://support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/008/XWP1_1B_EN.pdf
  10. Does it happen when you work with DAW (or another external MIDI controller)? If so, it is common problem most likely not related to your keyboard. I have such effect happens with other brands while playing back midi tracks controlled by DAW (actually it happens upon stopping of a playback).
  11. "it's possible to find stage piano in the price range of the px-560 with only USB-MIDI." Which one?
  12. I like the comments about other manufacturers! MPU-401 is a Roland standard (Actually the most of computer sound cards are based on Roland and Yamaha chips) Talking about the sound card on PC - There is another feature missing on Casio USB-MIDI (at least on PX). It is USB-Audio, which also serves as an external sound card for a computer.
  13. Good answer! However, I did not say anything about my particular PX. I asked about the PX series (as a product).
  14. The answer is complex - Yes and No You can convert MIDI to score with MuseScore. However, most likely you will have to spend a lot of time editing such notation. There are many reasons why. The obvious one (if we talk about piano) There is no software which knows for a fact which hand is playing what. Another issue - everything must be quantized. (Automatic quantization during recording is not a good solution). The length must be aligned. Otherwise, you will get very unreadable notation. In the case of an overlay, you may need to reassign voices manually. There is a lot of work has to be done in order to get correct notation. You definitely have to try it yourself to get a taste of it. I am porting my music to notation manually (Regardless the fact it is already recorded as a MIDI sequence.).
  15. Chandler, If you are representing Casio. I am just wondering whether you(Casio) recognize a loud mechanical noise from keys on PX series as a subject for improvement. thanks!
  16. It seems obvious that only very basic instruments do not have MIDI interface. The price difference between no pure MIDI device and entry level for devices with MIDI is minimal. Therefore it does not make sense to attempt to save on this option. I would say that most people who get trouble with the absence of MIDI just have a lack of an experience. You cannot solve that since this price range targets exactly this category of customers. For instance, if we take CDP and PX . the price difference with all discounts would be about $100. Sales price would be about 350 and 450. The good solution is just to discontinue CDP If a customer wants to add a pure MIDI the best he can do it is to trade the device in and get the one with the desired interface. The trade-in I the best solution for the subject.
  17. Computerless USB-MIDI Solutions Could you please clarify - Do you mean connecting one device with USB-B to another device using USB B? I think it is not designed to work that way. What do you mean by saying - Computerless?
  18. ReverbNation has started another promotion for "New Classical Music" There is a list they have created. You can find (besides of me) a few other people signed up for it Hope you will enjoy: https://www.reverbnation.com/scm/2558-new-classical-music?action_name=sponsored_content_live&campaignid=15763_2018-10-05&channel=&feedback_id=sponsored_content_live:15763:NA:transactional&layout=emails%2Fr4_transactional_email&mail_server=52.52.112.157&mailer[]=artist_notification_mailer&mestatid=15763_artist_5672557&msys_api={"options":{"open_tracking":true,"click_tracking":false,"ip_pool":"opportunities"},"campaign_id":"15763:artist_5672557:1538748014"}&page_object_id=5672557&page_object_type=artist&priority=0&send_time=1538748014&slot_id=10230&sponsored_content_market_id=2558&stream=transactional&template=sponsored_content_live&utm_campaign=sponsored_content&utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_source=sponsored_content_live
  19. Also I just saw reverb.com has XW-P1 for $200.
  20. The best I could find closest to the specified price is this: https://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Roland/Ep85-Digital-Piano.gc It is a little bit off the topic.
  21. I am not that good to listen Microkosmos or Kurehin. Maybe sometime later I will be ready. I have a feeling that Kurehin(pop-mechanica), for instance, was not sure where to go. He could compose great classical music, but virtually did nothing in that field. He wanted to invent. I prefer listening of something more pop, like adagios.(that is an example of easy listening music) Talking about learning - prefer to deal with a course designed for many years of study(100% confident - I do not have any idea what to do first and what next ). I still feel that every lesson pushes me in some direction (gradually). For home practice, I did not find anything better than pianomarver.
  22. I cannot call instruments used in “Music for a Summer Evening” -something simple;)
  23. Roland has plenty of sequencers and sound modules. With respect to Integra 7 existence, there is a 0% probability of appearance Jupiter 8 in the form as it was. Roland has a long line of cool systems like System 1m. JD-XA, System 500 and many more. I know that Roland keeps everything they have even built available in some form. I was very impressed when I discovered that. I remember somebody wanted a keytar. There one - AX-Edge.
  24. There is an opinion if you want to compose then do not play somebody's music, play only your own. I totally disagree with this. I think that a human cannot create anything new at all. All creations are combinations of previously created ones, which just look brand new. There are a few approaches I use. The main one is improvising in free form. I can say that my improvisations depend 100% on my skills. Therefore I continue taking lessons (Methods and Technique and it is infinite). It helps to get familiar with the methods used by big-name composers. The second way is a music in my head - for instance extending the existing version of Autumn Sun without playing or writing. This is a pretty effective way for me to make something nice. Analyzing music interesting by it does not find a real application, maybe a little bit. Another important fact is an instrument - there is a link between sound and style. For instance, playing Synch Bass automatically takes me to 80th
