  1. Another clip with Mike Martin: An interview with Mike: Anthony Patterson plays the Celviano Grand Hybrid:
  2. Stevie Wonder at Casio booth:
  3. Larry Dunn playing at the Casio booth:
  4. From Casio: "Additionally, users can import song data (MIDI format) into Chordana Play, link to other electronic keyboards in Casio’s portfolio (including the Key Lighting and Standard keyboards) and connect to both Apple and Android tablets using a standard audio cable." The app will be available for Android as well - nice touch! Tablets only because smartphone screens are too small? Other than that, good idea, but still not for me. I hope Casio will have something in the pipeline for Musikmesse. EDIT: Come to think of it - if you can't use headphone out with newer Apple devices, I wonder how that will work without headphone plug ... ;-)
  5. Mike Martin talks about the new boards: Available for $99-149 in June, maybe earlier. However, I just bought a WK-7600, so I'm good to go anyway ... ;-)
  6. The Numa Compact 2 looks like a nice board, unfortunately not battery-powered: http://www.studiologic-music.com/products/numa_compact2/
  7. The new Akai costs 2000 bucks, the Casio was available for much less. Now price is much higher and supply low. Maybe we'll have a classic and the price will be steep soon. ;-)
  8. Ralph Maten showing what can be done with the new sounds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21uNPiZkOcw
  9. Hmmm ... maybe a PX-5S successor? The prices in Germany are going crazy right now. €641 new, €595 as B-stock ... Winter NAMM will tell us ...
  10. I'd rather see an MZ-X with 88 keys in a light case à la PX-5S, with 256 notes of polyphony. You can dream, can't you?
  11. It's in Germany, at several shops (voelkner, digitalo, Conrad). The XW-DJ1 is even cheaper: 59 EUR! I bought my PD1 5 months ago for 149 bucks. Now the PD1 and the DJ1 are really cheap ...
  12. You don't need to install a driver for your keyboard in Windows 10. For lower latency, however, it can help to install the ASIO driver (expecially when having a lower-spec'ed PC/notebook: http://www.asio4all.com
  13. I just downloaded one. Works for me. Using Opera 38. EDIT: I uploaded the file here: http://www.file-upload.net/download-11790282/PX-5SFAQNOV14.pdf.html Please make sure you have adblock enabled.
  14. If I'm not mistaken Dave's Rhodes is included in the ALL File. It was uploaded in 2014. Needing further proof for how great the Rhodes sound (starting at 5:30), please watch Steve Weingart: If that's not an endorsement, I don't know what is ... ;-)
  15. Dave Weiser provided a few in the Vintage Keys Set: You can listen to them via soundcloud.
  16. The only thing I can grant the FA-06 is that an FA-08 is available with 88 keys. Maybe Casio can follow suit soon sans the IMHO quite steep extra cost of 600 bucks for the better keybed (in Germany at least) ... EDIT: Come to think of it - it might be a PX-6S ...
  17. If you have a stereo/hifi system at home with Line-in, you can connect it to your PX-5S. There are also quite inexpensive micro stereo systems with Line-in/AUX-in out there for around 150 bucks that can do the job. For home-use only it is great and you get extra usage (CD player, radio, MP3 player, even NFC).
  18. I feel your pain. Got the same message after unboxing the PX-5S but fortunately knew how to install the newest firmware. To bring you up to speed, please take a look: You can do that no matter what kind of operating system you have. Just copy the downloaded BIN file to your usb drive, insert the usb stick, switch on your PX-5S and then the update begins. I took part in the 'no media error' survey Mike Martin set up:
  19. On amazon.com, as of now, there are 4 left in stock. Seller is 'Total Music Source'.
  20. Thomann says arrival on 13 May. There you have it. ;-) If the MZ-X500 had 76 keys, I'd be seriously tempted.
  21. Looks like even the USB sound card's mic in (Creative Soundblaster Live 2) is only monophonic (tailored for use with a headset). Well played, Creative! Mono in 2016! So I went to my trusty PX-5S, connected the XW-PD1 to the PX-5S's audio-in, put the keyboard in record mode and it recorded in stereo, sounding even better when using PD1's line-out (cinch). Finally, I know what I have to do: buy a gadget with line-in (supporting stereo) and the XW-PD1 can stay with me. No need to send the XW-PD1 back, I would have hated doing that! The USB soundcard I'll keep for use with my other computers (just in case). EDIT: For flexibility's sake I've just bought a Zoom H1MB. Ok, it's more expensive, but then I can use the XW-PD1 outdoors and make recordings and use the mic for other stuff as well. Sorry for being such a pest! At least the matter is now solved (I can only hope) ...
  22. I meant I have stereo using the headphone out with a headphone. Using headphone out and mic in (notebook) gives me only mono. That's what creeps me out.
