  1. Sorry to hear that Brad! But, thinking about it, I guess it's more important to be able to keep the same tempo going while switching from one SS to another. So, the Tap Tempo button will be getting some use when I need to change the tempo for a new SS. Thanks!
  2. I stumbled on this many months after it was posted. It's exactly the info I needed to solve one problem....going from one Stage Setting to another while playing (to enable me to get variations of a drum pattern) while keeping the SAME tempo. But, now that seems to create another problem - Is there a way to UNDO that scenario, so when I choose a completely different Stage Setting (say later in the gig), it will play at the Tempo I have saved with the new Stage Setting and not at the Tempo that I was previously playing. Unfortunately, that seems to be what's happening. And obviously, it's not practical to have to go into the Sys Setting menu to change the Stage Setting Tempo Filter back and forth from off to on. Is there a way to control this easily?
  3. Yes, I know, but I can't figure out why I can't RE-assign it to a slider. :-)
  4. I was hoping to have just one slider set to control the Depth of the Tremolo (with the Rate and Wet/Dry left at a fixed amount). I wanted to leave the other sliders available for other (volume) assignments within the Stage Setting. But, your thorough instructions make me realize that doing it your way will give me so much more versatility that I'm going to go for it! Thanks so much!! And thanks Choppin for your input!
  5. All GREAT points! Yup...VERY frustrating! Hope Mike can get all of these issues taken care of. (-:
  6. I thought of that as a workaround, but I assume you'd have to rename it back to the original/default name if you needed to load it back into the PX. Not a big thing, but was just wondering if there was a way to get it time stamped correctly in the first place.
  7. For some reason, no matter when you save "All Data" onto a USB stick or onto a PC, the Date Created AND Date Modified ALWAYS shows as a date in January 2013! This makes it impossible to keep track of how current your backups are. Is there any way, or workaround, to date stamp these files? Thanks!
  8. For some reason, I can't figure out how to control the amount of DSP Tremolo by a Slider. I THINK I tried everything.
  9. Theodorn, thanks for your reply which pushed me to investigate further. Looks like they changed the page. There are now TWO Subdivisions: -Casio Officicial Files, and -Community Created Files where the downloads are stored. I didn't notice that, and I went to the wrong one. Thanks!
  10. Duh! I use the on/off setting for each zone all the time....don't know WHY I didn't think of doing it that way to control volumes of LAYERS rather than whole zones! Maybe because the deeper I get into the PX-5s, the more my head spins. But, I'm glad I asked the question because you guys brought up some OTHER interesting ideas! Thanks! KRULLEBOLLE, yes you CAN use the Mod Wheel to control volume! I've been doing that for a while.
  11. If I have a HexLayer in Zone 1 and a different HexLayer in Zone 2 and each HexLayer has 5 or 6 Layers, how can I know WHICH Layer 3 will be controlled if I assign a slider or knob to control the Volume of Layer 3. And, is there a way to ASSIGN WHICH Layer 3 I want to be controlled? Thanks for any help with this - can't find any intuitive way to solve this.
  12. Welcome Gordo! This is a great community! If you have any questions, they'll get answered here.
  13. Make the sliders programmable like in the PX-5s. Then you'd have one heck of a super-light 76 key keyboard. While I'm at it, I'll add to my wish list: A 76 key version of the PX-5S. Then you'd have the greatest weighted action keyboard ever made, and at somewhere around 20 lbs.! Put me down for 2 of them! (-:
  14. Thanks Jim! Trying to do it now. Yes, the sliders are all set up to control the volumes of all 6 layers....BUT, all the OTHER parameters in the Filter, Amp, etc. categories are ALSO set to various levels accommodating what was needed in the Maximillion SS. I tried to click on each item and press BOTH Up and Down buttons at the same time to bring the setting to a DEFAULT amount. That was messy in that some of the default positions eliminate all sound. Anyway, I'm wondering if there's a template that sets all parameters to a NORMAL setting, so you could just plug in the sounds you want to each layer and THEN tweak whatever is necessary in each layer. Thanks again! ****UPDATE!: I've been trying to start from scratch. The frustration comes when I try to save the Slider assignments to the HEX LAYER sound on Zone 1. Then I try to save those same assignments to the Stage Setting (since the Hex Layer is residing INSIDE the Stage Setting). The results have got me so confused I can't even describe the results to you. The bizarre situation seems to be the confusion between the one zone that has the hex layer, and the Stage Setting (all 4 zones) as a whole. I guess that brings me back to my original question: Is there a way to control the Volume of (only) one layer of a hex while the hex is on one zone of a Stage Setting? Right now I'm thinking, maybe there isn't.
  15. Is there a way to control the Volume of (only) one layer of a hex while the hex is on one zone of a Stage Setting?
  16. Hi Mau! If I'm understanding your question correctly - set the key range for Zone 1 so the LOW and the HIGH are both the lowest note on the keyboard. Let me know if that does what you want.
  17. Should be interesting to see which EP sound gets the most acclaim. For me, I'd have to say that Dave Weiser's "Ray's Wurly" is probably the most fun to play. Also like: "Bark'n Reed" "Dave Tines" "Herbie's Rd Phz" "Deep Dyno Rhds" "T'Rhodes"
  18. Thanks for all the tips. I now understand better all the details mentioned - I tried all the suggestions. Tried increasing the Wet, etc., but, the problem still isn't solved. Mystery. I should say, I created 3 different Organ Hex Layers. Two of them don't have the problem. The one using Perc Organs is the one that doesn't behave quite right (see description in earlier post).
  19. Can u INSERT a letter and have all the other letters move to the right? I can't find a way. It is pretty common on other keyboards etc.
  20. Thanks Ebonivor! Got it all working. Tried your turning on and sustaining strings scenario. Can see how it gets out of hand, but opens up other possibilities with the 2 Target ability. Now all we have to do is THINK of some that make sense and are useable! Maybe someone will have some suggestions. And the Start/Stop Phrase on Pedal 2 will be very useful to me! I appreciate your help. Thanks again!
  21. I can't figure out how to increase the AMOUNT of the Rotary effect in an Organ Hex Layer I'm trying to create. I chose "Fast" for the Speed, but can't find which parameter controls the AMOUNT of the effect. Actually, the only reason I want to increase the Amount is because from the G above middle C down there's less (hardly any!) of the effect noticeable. I'm sure there's probably some OTHER factor and Parameter causing that, but as you can tell....I know NOTHING about Organs! Help! Thanks!!!!
  22. Thanks again for the detailed explanation! What I'm looking to do is probably simpler than you're assuming. I'll try to describe it better: Can I LEAVE a regular SUSTAIN PEDAL plugged into the PEDAL 2 input all the time (I would have my regular sustain pedal in the Pedal 1 input) - Then, on a certain Stage Setting, set PEDAL 2 to toggle on and off a Drum Loop Phrase. Then, later on, in a DIFFERENT Stage Setting, have the Pedal 2 input set to be a Momentary Switch to bring in and hold an effect (or just sustain) on a particular Zone. Maybe all I'm asking is, can a Momentary (Sustain) Switch be used as a Toggle (On/Off) Switch. Once I know if this is possible, I may then want to do the two operations within the SAME Stage Setting, at which point I will re-read your above explanation and hopefully be able to understand the subtleties of this complex (to me, anyway) situation. Thanks again!!
