  1. I want the 16 track recorder to return on Privia This is the reason why I'm not interested with the S3000 series
  2. I could suggest these instruments MIDI Hardware: Casio CTK-6250, CT-X800 or higher. They're decent enough to play MIDI files Software Synths and Wavetables: Roland Virtual Sound Canvas. They bear similarities to some older Casio's, especially those with HL Sound Sources SoundFonts: I found some old Casio soundfonts on the internet. CTK-230 and HT-700. This is the link
  3. Although it is not officially documented on spec sheets or on official Casio websites and product catalogs, the CDP-S100 series actually uses a stripped-down version of AiR (or the older AiF) piano samples, only with slightly shorter sustain, no damper resonance, and less effects. If you listen closely, it is interesting to note that this sound is actually better than the AiX one seen on CDP-S350. For comparison (use headphones) CDP-S100 PX-160
  4. Thank you for the information. I heard about this COSM stuff and the Megavoices (Yamaha's version of versatile tone) , those are the main problems of converting Yamaha rhythms into Casio
  5. Is there any website or users who converted Yamaha preset rhythms to use in Casio keyboards? Let me know if there are any, especially those with two variations (for use on CT-X700).
  6. Not only in Casio, every tone named "60's E Piano" in all keyboards are modeled after the Wurlitzer The Rhodes (70s) comes in many different names, ranging from simply "E. Piano 1" in Casio, "Suitcase" in Yamaha, "Club EP" in Korg and so on
  7. For the SAMPLING function, the file format is TW7 . This is true for all Casio WK/CTK models which have an Audio In or Mic input with Sampling function
  8. Speaking of MIDI mode, Yamaha already included a mode with customizable MIDI settings on the PSR-S workstation lineup, accessible from the settings menu. I really hope that Casio include this mode on future models, so you don't have to adjust the channel/local control/external clock one by one
  9. Yamaha GHS is somehow inferior to Tri-sensor Scaled Hammer Action in most Privia models, but it feels just right. The weight is more similar to that of Kawai upright pianos, whereas Casio's Scaled Hammer Action is more identical in weight to the Yamaha C-series grand pianos
  10. So far, there were only 73 key weighted keyboards, such as Yamaha P121 and CP73. I have never seen weighted 76 yet
  11. Casio PX-5S, played by Indonesian musician Fariz Rustam Munaf. In 2016, he was presumably hired by Casio Indonesia to promote the latest Privia line of its time https://youtu.be/hrMkfNN0KjM
  12. Okay, jokes aside, I think "shower" is just a corruption of "Display". The display was meant to "show" the information, so it's poorly termed "shower" under a broken English 😅 While "Erystal" is, well, typical Chinese knockoffs with its typos. I've seen worse "typo" products, such as fake keyboard amplifier with 'Rollens' brand (possibly Roland KC-350 knockoff due to its design), EL LUMINOUS watch which replicate the Casio Illuminator watch, or even a fake PlayStation Portable called POP Station (which plays nothing but Tetris)
  13. Hi everyone... While searching for free SoundFont files (.sf2) for my DAW, I came across some SoundFonts made with some Casio keyboards, namely HT-700, SA-76, and CTK-230. I think this is a perfect alternative for adding that vintage Casio sounds for your music production Browse here Anyway, let me know if there are other SoundFonts made from other Casio keyboards
  14. A medley of four Russian folk songs ("Katyusha", "Korobeiniki", "Farewell of Slavianka" and "Troika"), arranged with Indonesian instrument, the Angklung. Rhythm: Russian Chanson 1 (inspired by "Troika" from Casio's own song bank). Tone: Angklung Tremolo (main melody), GM SynthVoice (secondary melody) I use the SynthVoice as the secondary melody to evoke the feel of older Casio's song banks "Korobeiniki" is best known as the theme of Tetris For "Troika" I also used the arranged version from Tetris which adds a verse before the main theme
  15. Big Band works similarly to the "Block" or "4Way Close" found on Yamaha keyboards, it basically adds a block chord to the note you're playing If you understand jazz, you will also understand how this harmony works. Perfect for playing classic jazz tunes like "Lullaby of Birdland" or "Fly Me to the Moon". Pick a jazz rhythm (I would recommend "Jazz Combo 2"), select a piano tone, layer it with vibraphone and there you go. A 1950s standard jazz feel reminiscent of George Shearing
  16. I would like to made this word into a sticker and put it under the screen of my CT-X700 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  17. 128 sounds? must be a GM bank without drum kits
  18. A² and HL for the built in songs (I agree with Davis9754's opinion) AHL for the rhythms (AHL keyboards are in fact the first Casio to offer wider variety of rhythms of different genres) AiX/AiR for the overall sounds and rhythms. AiX rhythms are more or less similar to AHL ones, with the addition of modern pop oriented rhythms (such as E. Funk Pop and 80's Pop Star)
  19. Current Casio models such as the CT-X line have Indonesian rhythms (Dangdut and Kroncong) and sounds (Suling, Sasando, Gamelan, Cello Fingered and Angklung Tremolo), but ironically no Indonesian folk songs on the demo I would love to see Ayo Mama and Rasa Sayange making a comeback with the new rhythm, or maybe 1980s Indonesian pop songs
  20. I miss the old Long Long Ago and Aloha Oe. That sounds better on older models
  21. Yes, I would love to see WK making a comeback Perhaps it will be the WK-S (based on the CT-S400/S500) and put under the Casiotone brand WK-X is also a great idea, by making a 76-key version of CT-X5000 plus sliders or knobs
  22. My first was LK50 the key lighting system helps me learn faster. And so many memories with the built in song ☺☺
  23. I grew up playing various Casio keyboards and familiarized myself with the built-in rhythms over the different generations. Here are some rhythms from past Casio keyboards that may sound great on newer models like the CT-X series -Funk 8 Beat (from AHL models, last seen on CTK-7200) -World Pop (from early-2000's A² / HL models such as LK90TV) -Soul Ballad 1 and 2 (from HL models, also found on built in song "Annie Laurie" in pre-AHL models) - "Classic" Tex-Mex (earlier version of the rhythm found mostly on LK series) -Rap Pop (from CTK5000/LK270) -Acid Jazz (from older low-end model such as CTK574) -Jazz Voice (the rhythm used in the built in song "Long, Long Ago" in pre-AHL models) -"Classic" Fox Trot (as heard on the current rendition of "Long, Long Ago") - Folky Pop (from A² / HL models, also used in "Swanee River" built-in song on the same models) - "Classic" Viennese Waltz (as used in the built in song "Old Smokey") - "Classic" Pop Shuffle (found on pre-AHL models, and used on the song "Camptown Races" on those models) - "Classic" Bolero (from A² models, and used in "La Paloma" in CTK591) - Bossa Nova 1 and 2 (from CTK5000 and 4000) - Slow Swing (from CTK800, and used on "Danny Boy" in the same keyboard) - "Classic" 8 Beat 3 (from pre-AHL models, also used on "Aura Lee" on those models) - Funk (a very old rhythm found on 1990's models) - "Classic" March (found across different songs in many models, particularly "I've Been Working On The Railroad") - Township (the most recurring world rhythm before CT-X) Got any more suggestions? Let me know on the replies
  24. Yes, that's what I'm talking about, MIDI recorder can come in handy if you're too lazy to open up your laptop and work on DAW. I too like old-skool hardware stuff My ideas/concepts for the next Privia to succeed the PX-360 are the following: -Same sound set as PX-S3000 (AiR piano + AiX non-piano sounds) -Same preset rhythms as any other AiX based keyboards -Return of the Touch Panel control, while keeping the compact slim design, maybe slightly wider to accomodate the screen. -16 track recorder and rhythm editor with a minimum of 10 user songs and 10 user rhythms. More user slots will be better, such as 50 -Pattern Sequencer with SMF Import (not necessary, but for a digital piano, it's good to have this feature) -Classic Casio Tones, like the one on CT-S1
