  1. It's a cool keyboard. Maybe some people on this forum could provide links to where one could be purchased?
  2. At a thrift store I used to work at, they got one in, and it almost immediately ended up in the trash because the people there couldn't figure it out or didn't think they could sell it. Oh, btw, it was a complete unit. IDK if it ever went out on the floor, but I do know that if it did, I was unable to afford it at the time, and it never sold. Sad, because those are super rare... I hope I find one that's intact soon enough before they all go the route of that poor unit or just stop working. And no I am not happy that one got destroyed, that's an EXPENSIVE thing. The moral? Don't trust thrift stores.
  3. Hey, I have been looking for some obscure Casio synths for a friend for a while now, and I was looking for how to get one of these, if anyone happens to have one, feel free to reach out to me on the Scenesat Radio discord server, and we can discuss from there, or in private messages on the forum. Here is a video of it.
  4. Same with the WK-1800 I have, I just loaded all the expansion tones from a floppy to it. It's relatively fast for a floppy drive, too.
  5. There seems to be a dealer on Facebook that buys them up and then resells them rather quickly. They'll usually have things you're looking for if you ask. (it's a professional dealer)
  6. I have NOT been able to find any datasheets on that DSP, but I found one for the CPU and one for DAC. Btw, the DAC has a 18bit mode. Modding perhaps? Anyway, meow meow!
  7. Looking for some technical info for the WK-1800

  8. The WK-1800 uses a Hitachi Wavetable+Effects chip (HG51B155FD). I am wondering if the chip technically has more voices since the MZ-2000 uses two matching chips with one being for the synth and one being for the effects. The Wavetable on the WK-1800 is still quite advanced and can sound very good if given the chance, tho I wish there was a better instrument editor for it. Also, for some reason its CPU has a DAC and ADC on it. It also for some reason routes the sound data through the key controller and possibly back through the rest of the synth engine? It's very confusing. Also, that synth is LOUD. Powered Speakers are no joke.
  9. You are correct on A2 being a wavetable, I think ZPI is also a wavetable, but it has more advanced features like an actual ADSR and wave-morphing.
  10. Hello, I am currently looking for software specifically for the WK-1800 Synth (wavetable, GT-155F) Here is what I need from it: Can Read, Edit, Play, and Save .ct3 files, as well as the other WK-1800 native file formats (the WK-1800 tone file format) Can directly communicate with the WK-1800 Can save song/midi file, as well as read them can accurately emulate the wk-1800 Direct Playback on Hardware. Vertical Sequencer/Tracker Type Interface, available either natively or as a plugin. can see, use, play, and edit factory and user tones. I've got to have the Casio Tones Communicates via midi (if I have to mod my synth I am willing to, but I do not have equipment to do that with) I am wanting to make some music specifically for that synth, but I have not found any sequencers that can truly utilize or communicate with it. Especially with the strange voice limits it has when using dual-oscillator tones. (Especially multiple of those) I prefer working with trackers/vertical sequencers, but the only trackers I know of that can directly do MIDI are Open MPT and Renoise, one of which is paid, and neither of which I got working with my hardware. (I think IT/Schisim Tracker can also do MIDI, but I do not know how it set it up for them)
  11. Is there a way to create a custom registration that can be used when playing midi files that would allow the non GM voices to be used when playing midi files. Especially the Stereo Piano tone
  12. There are L-Ion/rechargable battery packs that are made specifically for certain keyboards
  13. Lithium is fine if you treat them well. don't put them in things that could easily get damaged.
  14. The WK-1600 does not have the secondary DSP attached ROM chip that the WK-1800 does have What is on that second chip that is important to only the WK-1800?
  15. What about the secondary memory chip on the WK-1800 used to store the user presets and expansion disc data? How would something like that work? since you can clear it and put the data back in however you want to...
