CZ-1: Replacing Headphone and Line Out Jack Sockets?
giano replied to synchrosystem's topic in CZ Series
hi synchrosystem and congratulations for your new CZ-1! By experience, it is easy to damage a board. Before anything else I would buy a good contact spray and use on the headphone PCM contacts, socket and even on the headphone connector before plugging it in. Your CZ-1 is over 30 years old, there is a chance that this is all it needs... -
Hello Chas, thanks for this video. I am looking forward to the next episodes and to more reviews of yours! And the SA-76 sounds really nice!

lovely music and video, thanks for sharing! it is a joy to see an instrument being fully used; so much is possible also with simple setups. I look forward to your review of the SA-76!

Hi everybody, This is a patch which uses one the HT3000 dynamic waves, a very interesting feature of the HT synth series. Although the envelopes of the individual components are not fully editable, these wave forms still offer a lot of sonic possibilities. BTW this is an attempt at the love theme from Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, by A. Morricone. Thanks for listening and stay healthy!

hi everyone! my second video on my HT3000 today trying to give some love to this dated and undoubtedly limited machine... after a forgivable affair with some other synthesizer today I took it out again, and it was as lovely as I remembered it... thanks for listening and stay safe!

Hi everyone, practicing Dont't start now by Dua Lipa on my Casio HT3000 and struggling to keep up with the bass line...good exercise !! I think it is a beautiful song: anybody out there with a Casio cover of it? https://youtu.be/IZ8wb6nFTIw

Hello BERT, I had a similar issue on a HT700, where the RAM chip was not supplied when the HT was on batteries. Some skilled owners on an tech forum suggested replacing a particular zener diode on the power board, which I did. Since I did not have an exact replacement I used a standard 5V zener and the fix did not work, BUT it still gave me a fairly stable 5V across the diode when the HT was on batteries. I took the 5V and directly connected them to the RAM, which solved the issue. So, I would start by checking that the RAM Vcc's are at +5V when the CZ is battery powered (I think the CZ3000 has 2 RAM chips) and if not, look at the power board for any suspect component.

I think the key size will likely make you to play differently than on normal keys, but this is not necessarely a bad thing. This video could also be of interest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSJAaLb6JOM

Hello, here's a short clip based on a patch using waveform 23, which is one of the most complex waves on the HT3000. It is a simple tune, with a single sound playing over drums. The HT3000 has only one VCF and re-triggers its envelope at every key stroke. This behavior can be used musically, for example to create echo-like effects on sustaining notes like in this clip. Thanks for listening!

I watched the video for 1h straight, I really loved it!! - thanks a lot for sharing. No idea where you got so much creativity, and I would not know where to start to compliment! In addition I am still kind of mesmerized and keep seeing stars and planets before my eyes... truly impressive, thanks!!!!

Thanks! In fact, I got the idea after listening to your March cover of Are Friends Electric! Transcribing the song was real fun! At the same time, I have not really tried to recreate the original sounds, but just tweaked some available patches instead. One thing I did was doubling the factory HT3000 PCM drums with some programmed patches to give it some punch; I had never noticed that the percussive toms were so distinguishing on this song!

Hello All, here my rendition of Just can't get enough by Depeche Mode. All sounds and drums by Casio HT-3000 no mods or effects, while the vocals are from the original version... Finally, the nice pictures are not from me, I have just borrowed them from the internet Thanks for listening!

wow, two more excellent tips, thanks! Astonishing independence of hands, sense of time and impressive technique: they make it all look so easy... My day-to-day inspirational calendar says I should not compare myself with others but with the person I was yesterday. A really good piece of advice tonight!!

Thanks for the compliment and for introducing Moot Booxle to me: he is really good, so much to learn from his videos!
