  1. I just installed firmware 1.14 for PX-560 and noticed a much improved smooth transition of expression and volume using my Moog pedal. Many thanks to Casio for listening and taking action to improve expression pedal interface.

    PX-560 Q's!!!

I still cant figure if 560 allows monophonic lead mode (only 1 key at a time plays)
  3. Purchased Moog EP-3 pedal a few days ago and with a little adjusting, it produces the smoothest volume changes I have experienced so far for the PX560. Thanks for advise on EP-3 pedal
  4. The modulation wheel or expression pedal can be set up to change between slow and fast speeds. I wish the sustain pedal could serve dual purpose for sustain and slow/fast rotary speaker changes like Nord does but no such luck yet. I like using some foot pedal for slow/fast changes so I can keep my hands on the keys.
  5. Great! Got it thanks. I assigned modulation wheel to speed for the upper 1 and upper 2 patches. I had to 2 different organ patches assigned to upper 1 and 2. I hear the effect kick in. However, it seems the rotary effect is only working on upper 1 organ patch. I must have forgot some setting. Its a little tricky but I'm still working it. Thanks for your great visual aids.
  6. I got it fine. I have been saving registrations successfully but with a minor issue: I find that for groups of piano registrations, I wish I could keep the same mater EQ settings from one registration to another. Is there a way to disable the registration save of master EQ?
  7. EP3 pedal sounds like the ideal solution. Was it very expensive?
  8. I was using the Yamaha FC7 pedal which works with my Nord Stage 2 but not smoothly with my PX-560. On the Mgear pedal , I have the side volume knob off (all the way counterclockwise). I changed the control setting on PX-560 expression pedal to Volume CC7 vice Expression CC11. It works very smooth up and down in volume all the way down to off.
  9. Thanks Brad, Alen for taking the time to explain. I am clear on this now.
  10. Brad, Alen, thank you both for taking the time to explain this. I get it now. Several Nord keyboards allow the damper pedal to serve two purposes. When playing a piano patch it works for sustain. When using an organ patch, it serves as a toggle switch to go back back and forth between slow and fast rotary effect. Each time you push the sustain pedal down and release, you alternate between fast and slow. Speed remains the same until you press the sustain pedal and release again. So the pedal works like a two position toggle switch (slow and fast)

  12. I don't see a parameter called "Speed slow fast". What is parameter name as shown on the parameter list to accomplish a toggle between slow and fast rotary?.
  13. In Controller mode, I was under the impression that it allows changes to every controller except the damper pedal. AM I missing something? When I go to pedal type, I see two choices: expression type and foot switch type. Is foot switch the name for damper pedal input? If so, what is the target name for enabling rotary on and off? I don't see from the 16 pages of choices under target, one named "rotary on and off" My goal is to have the damper pedal serve two roles at the same time;, sustain and rotary toggle on off. Thanks
  14. I was having same problem. Changed pedal to M Gear EXP pedal, changed control setting on expression pedal to volume CC#7; and adjusted volume range to 0-off and max -85. Have much smoother volume changes for strings layered behind piano. Another interesting approach I tried to fix this problem was calibrating the minimum and maximum pedal volume using different pedal locations. For example, when calibrating for lowest volume, I would move the pedal slightly up from lowest possible position before executing. I got varying degrees of success with this but it was worth trying to learn how it affects the pedal operation with the keyboard.
  15. Found problem, My "Demo" PX-560 was not working properly when I received it. Returned it and ordered new PX-560 and have no problem.
  16. Is there a way to set up the sustain pedal to act as a switch to change rotary speaker effect from slow to fast? This is a global setup feature on Nord keyboards. Just thought Casio might have a similar solution.
  17. I have a registration with a split, (piano: upper1) (strings upper 2) (Fingered Bass lower 1). I have a pedal set up as expression pedal to control volume of (upper 2 strings) sound only. When I play using both sustain pedal and expression at same time, I found an upper register E note (strings upper 2 ) patch that will stick on. It will continue even with hands off keyboard and expression pedal set to lowest level and no sustain pedal. The only way I can stop it is turn unit off and back on. Any ideas?
  18. AllenK Thx so much for your detailed explanation. Wow you did that from memory!! Impressive
  19. Do preset sounds get edited from upper 1 location only? If so, after they are edited and saved with a new name, can I place the edited sound in upper 2 of a registration? For example, I may want to change the release on a string patch in upper2 of a registration. I want to edit it and replace it as upper 2 of a given registration. How is this done?
  20. Wow I'm new to PX-560 and I am hopeful Casio will correct this. Saving and naming registrations is such a basic organizational need for live performers. You need to be able to easily recall banks of registrations by name. On my Nord Stage 2, I name registrations like "Piano/Strings & Bass", "Rhodes/Strings & Bass", "Piano solo" , "Clav Solo" etc. Each song has a unique registration needed and you need to be able to simply find and load on the fly quickly.
