Hello: CASIO had the great idea of creating a synthesizer with built-in sequencer. It has been a great invention - and it remains-. It helps to enjoy this synth. My opinion on the sequencer is that it is very good and very easy to use. And I open this post so that other users leave your opinion. I'm curious about this topic. I'm thinking of buying the XW-G1. Hi all! Great forum! Last week i bought my new (and first, being honest) synthesizer, the Casio XW-P1, so wandering on the internet, I found this awesome forum! I'm new to synths, so I'd like to get some advices about it! Let's get to the point. I've got the drum base, I've reached a good result on the pad sound, but being a beginner, I cannot even get close to the intro synth sound of the Farewell tour (2004) that would go the extra mile, so any suggestions? I am unable to use my new Casio PX-150 with Finale and was told by Finale that, "We are aware of an issue when using some of Casio's newest models of keyboards to enter notes in Finale on Mac computers. Keyboards such as the PX-350 have implemented a new HD MIDI technology which sends an additional controller message on CC#88. This controller is not compatible with any of our current notation products. Some users report that third-party programs, such as Midipipe by SubtleSoft, can be used in conjunction with Finale to filter controller messages. These third-party programs are currently untested by MakeMusic and we cannot offer support for using them with Finale." Has anyone dealt with this and have a fix?

The sound is best used by holding down whole notes in the lower octaves and a playing melody up top. The arpeggitator does all the work in the lower octaves letting you work the melody! Here is something I did using the XW-G1 but the same thing could be done using a XW-P1. Nothing is pre-recorded. This is all done live using the Step Sequencer and the Phrase Recorder. Also utilizing the iPad apps NAVE and iMS-20.

It is so easy to be inspired by the Minimoog. Such as classic design and sound that is still sought after today. While being a digital synthesizer, the XW-series can do a pretty remarkable job of mimicking those classic Moog sounds. The Minimoog had 3 oscillators plus a noise generator and although the XW has a 4th oscillator in its Solo Synth engine - all of these sounds were crafted with the original in mind. A set of 10 Leads and basses, the specialties of the Minimoog. Separate versions above for the XW-P1 and XW-G1. What Pedals work with the XW-seriesCasio SP-20 Casio SP-3R Pedals from Kurzweil and Korg also work as well as the switchable M-Audio, Roland and Yamaha will not. Can I used the Solo Synth and Hex Layers, or Drawbar organs at the same timeNo, only one of them can be used at a time on Zone 1.
